Mariposa Inn & Suites - Monterey

Room was great, staff was super friendly; close to great restaurants, grounds were clean, great parking, access to shopping. Overall a wonderful stay at the Mariposa Inn!

Front desk seemed hurried between answering phone and taking care of our check-in. Room was pretty small but adequate for sleeping. Good thing it was just my daughter and me. I was a little shocked when I got to the hotel and says how clean and well maintained thishotel was only because it was such a great price. The service was excellent and the atmosphere of the hotel is very warm. The only downfall is that it's not on cannery row or next door to the wharf, but its a very short (5 minutes max) drive or cab ride to the […] wharf or cannery row. Our family had a great time at Mariposa Inn. The kids liked playing in the pool during the day and at night cozying up in one of the many outdoor fire pit areas. The rooms were very clean and the Inn was very nice. The staff was also super accomodating and friendly.

Rooms were nice. Hotel very nearby shopping/dining and a short drive to Cannery row. Parking was tight in front of rooms. Walls were paper thin. You could see daylight around seal of door, allowing in a lot of noise. Housekeeping staff knocking on the door before 8:30 every day, and the second day a couple of them stood outside yelling back and forth […] to one another in conversation at that hour. Sound barrier between upstairs and downstairs rooms was awful. Sounded like a herd of cattle upstairs until 1:30 am and it was just a small family. Clean rooms. Thought the hotel was great. Bed was perfect, make-up area was kind of dark to put make-up on, just a little bit tight on the space, but liveable. Cleaning crew was great.

Was away from the tourist areas of Monterey,which for me was a plus. Located directly across the road is a shopping centre,which includes a whole foods supermarket,Starbucks,a pretty decent chinese restaurant and pizza place. We stayed here on our 3rd night of vacation. We previously stayed at a holiday inn and in comparison Mariposa Inn was a cut above. Wonderful rooms, delicious free breakfast and clean pool! Great for kids and vey quiet.

I chose this hotel by reading reviews of many hôtels in Monterrey. When we drove up, I was a little disappointed with the outside of the hotel (plain vanilla) but when we saw our room, I was delighted. It belies the outside: very modern, zen interior, with a gas fireplace and a good amount of space. The young woman at the reception was very helpful […] with information about restaurants in the area and other available activities. Room was spacious enough with 2 young children. The fireplace was a nice touch and the rooms and bed were clean and good. Staff was friendly at check in/ out. Only point was location is pretty much at the end of the entire row of hotels but somewhat compensated if you are a shopper as it's just opposite the del Monte shopping area.

We were glad that we only stayed here 1 night. Room was very small. Sunlight right above our bed:(, housekeeper knocked our door 2 times( 8am & 9am) because she wanted to clean our room (check out time supposed to be at 11am). We will not be back.

Enjoyed the stay. The townhouse was spacious. My boys enoyed the stairs too. The one shocking thing was that we encountered a bat hanging from the ceiling in the hallway. We notified the front desk and they resolved the issue promptly. Would stay again.

This older hotel has been completely redone, with an eye to quality and funky decor. Although our room was small. there was good use of space, and it was very comfortable and quiet. With the exception of our water shutting off, it was great. The hotel gave us another room, upgraded to town house suite which was also very nice.

The concierge was not very helpful at all when we checked in, he was almost annoyed. This is an updated "motel"--but they did an amazing job updating it. Everything was super clean and super nice. Our room was very small, but we didn't spend much time in the room. Very pleasant stay. Nice heated pool and hot tub... delightful morning swim in 32 degree weather with the sun rising in the distance. Breakfast was certainly adequate.

The hotel space and buildings were nice. The room was clean and the furniture looked pretty new. The only issue is that when people would close their doors I could hear it down the hallway in my room. The saff was very accomodating and friendly. The location was perfect for our stay. The room was comfortable and very clean. the robes were a nice touch. The only downside was that the pool and hot tub were not functioning during our stay. We wanted to relax in a hot tub after a long day at the golf course. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The walls in the rooms are very thin. There was a couple next to us that were having relations and they were very loud. I had children with me. We have stayed here many times, and have enjoyed it; especially like location and availibility of pool and hot tub. Rooms are clean & comfortable. Staff seems to be quite responsive most ot the time.
