Radisson Blu Edwardian Vanderbilt Hotel - Londra

Had a one night stay here. Arrived earlier than expected but could still check in and my room was ready. Small single room, but comfortable, clean, and quiet. Used the Hotel wifi, but could not send some files, it may have had a file size restriction. I did not have breakfast due to commitments, but a waitress got me an excellent coffee quickly before […] I left. The reservation was somehow messed up. We were given a twin bed room versus a double. The hotel corrected this, but the explanation that the reservation system does not work with the hotel system was lame. When checking out the desk failed to call a taxi -- we were on a tight timetable. The double room we moved to was VERY small.

This is the second Edwardian I've stayed at in London (the other being the Hampshire on Leicester Square). While not quite as good a location for dining, nightlife, etc, this hotel is far superior in terms of its condition, size of the rooms, and cost. It was O.K.

My father and I arrived on holiday. I had rented a power chair and had a walker but decided that a wheelchair would be better for tours, etc. I then borrowed their wheelchair which was nice of them. Upon arriving back at the hotel, the wheelchair would no go thru the hall, GOT STUCK WITH MY FATHER IN IT. The problem is the attitude of your manager. […] I then asked for you to obtain a smaller wheelchair (at my expense-which was fine), they did not bother. I asked again the next day and was ignored. I would of done it myself but did not have cell and was out on bus tours.. I had found out that for the train I needed it as well and had to pay $250.00 extra for new train tickets (wheelchair vs reg seat). I'm back in London in 4 days, staying at Millenimum Bailey's. Oh yes, smallest room on the planet, and they did not change a soiled sheet. They don't change the sheets unless you put a card out, but they don't tell you this according to the manager, so you just can guess. GO TO ANOTHER HOTEL, LOTS IN THE AREA.. Devamı

Service was good, close to the Tube and sights, comfortable and clean. But the hotel was unusual. There aren't the standard amenities like ice machines or coffeemakers. But you do need to use your hotel key to turn on the lights, and I had to stand in the amazingly long bathtub to reach the tub controls due to this strange shower/tub combo. Other reviewers […] mentioned the long trek through the corridor and the fire doors to reach the rooms. All in all, the hotel seems to be trying to be unique and cater to a certain crowd. We would stay here again. Wonderful location to the Tube, restaurants and shopping. Clean rooms! The customer service we received was outstanding. The staff were helpful with questions, directions, and other services. Two cons, but not deal breakers...the first is the computers in the hotel's business center. Very slow connection. At one point the computer […] sent a message that it was too old to open a small file. The second con is that the mattresses are starting to wear. We still slept OK, but the mattresses were pretty hard and starting to become lumpy. We were in a twin room. Over all our stay was great! We would had given a rating of 5 out of 5, but feel for the high caliber of the hotel, the computers and mattress situation should be updated. So we opted to rate the hotel as a 4 out of 5. Great place to stay. The staff was very friendly, helping get our bearings in the city and checking in to make sure we were happy with the room. The room was nice and the location fairly convenient.

We arrived after a 24 HR flight from Australia, we caught the underground from heathrow, straight to Gloucester station walked up stairs crossed the rd round one corner and there it was. Brilliant. They helped us with booking the theatre, tours etc. My ten year old and I were very happy.

A great hotel with friendly professional staff. Nice bar with plush leather armchairs and sofas. Good restaurant and breakfast. Nice afternoon tea. Food in the hotel is a little on the expensive side but I couldn't fault the quality or service. Portions are generous so I felt I had value for money. Decoration is very plush. My stay here was enjoyable - I was here on business. My room was on the small side, as expected, but comfortable and clean. The bathrooms are quite nice. Having a comfortable lobby/lounge with wireless is very convenient and the hotel is just steps away from the Gloucester Road tube station, so its very convenient to almost everything. My stay was quite pleasant. Room was big and clean. The hotel staff was very helpful. However there are 2 things i would like to point out. 1)The hotel wifi barely worked in the room so that was a bit inconvenient. 2)The bathroom was somewhat tiny. Our experience with the Vanderbilt (as most locals refer) was quite positive. Apparently this building was formerly a London residence of the Vanderbilt family, hence the name. The hotel was recently remodled and looked fresh and new in appearance. Our room was split level... we entered our hotel room into a small foyer and a door to the bathroom. Then […] up five steps to the bedroom. There were three of us and the room size was adequate for three. It was furnished with a king size bed and a sofa with two twin size pull out beds. I gave comform a rating of 4 as my king bed was hard; there were not any clothes drawers so we lived out of the suitcase for our time there; and i wish there were more lighting options. All the lights are recessed and seven (six in room; one in foyer) of the ten are wired together... meaning it was all or nothing. The remaining three (bathroom; left bedsdze; and right bedside) were on their own switch. But even then if you wanted to sit in bed with just one of the bed lights, it was glaring down on you like spot light. They need perhaps one table lamp with a low wattage bulb. There is a small closet with quite a number of hangers equipped with a trouser press, iron, and ironing board. The foyer was the great place to keep luggage and shoes out of the way. Our room was located on the back side of the building facing the mews and was very quiet. We had the window opened from time to time and even then outside noise was minimal. For food the hotel has a restaurant and if you walk to the right upon exiting the hotel you'll find a few restaurants on Cromwell Road or exit the hotel to the right on Cromwell, go left on the first street called Gloucester and there you'll find a lot of dining options. Turning left out of the hotel you wont find any resturants on Cromwell Road for nearly a mile, then there's plenty. In between those restaurants and the hotel is the Museum of Natural History and the Albert and Victoria museum. And then about two miles fr Devamı

Could'nt fault the room or bathroom, my room was round the back of the hotel where a constant noise outside from an air vent or other machine running all night kept me awake. My room did'nt include breakfast, but it was'nt a problem to find somewhere to eat. Was only here for one night. My only complaint is that they were working on interior modelling so a lot of poorly painted walls were exposed.

It was only an overnight but Terry who signed me in was polite and put me in a nice quiet back room. The hotel is still being re-decorated so the corridors look ugly (at least on my floor). The lobby is is nice and relaxing with newspapers to hand in the morning. I really liked the hotel, the staff were friendly and the location is great. There are a few thing I didn't like though; the size of the room was too small (single), the elevator was very slow and the ac wasn't cool enough.

We (professional couple aged late 20s) booked a last minute trip to London in the middle of June. On the back of the good reviews for the Radisson, we decided to spend around 200 pounds above budget to stay in a nicer hotel. The lobby was quite welcoming but the lift to the rooms was the smallest lift I have ever been in. The hotel room was clean but […] small, rather basic and noisy (no double glazing next to busy road). The shower was very good. It was ultimately closer to 3 than 4 star. Because we were expecting 4 star and had gone over budget for the luxury factor, I was not content to remain there. I think if we had paid a lesser amount of money we would have been happy to stay there. The Manager was accommodating and offered a room upgrade. The Radisson Vanderbilt was a beautiful hotel, centrally located to everything. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Only caveat - upgrade to a king room. The double they originally put me in was in the basement, with little light. However, the king room was incredibly spacious for a London hotel and even had a pullout couch. The rooms at this hotel are small, but for the quality, price, location, service, etc...i really think that you get your monies worth. Great for business travel: free internet and printing. I will definitely be back!

To begin with we paid a very expensive price for a King Deluxe room---and it was neither King or nor Deluxe in any way. The shower was *prohibitively* small for a very thin, 6 foot 2 inch tall man---so much so that a new room had to be requested---a suite for an even higher nightly rate--no discount. This very expensive suite had a suitable bathroom […] (meaning normal) but didn't even include breakfast for the price. We have stayed at many Radisson Hotels and this was very sub-par. We are well aware of the difference between USA and European ammenities and room sizes--this was still very subpar. Very nice staff but definitely not worth the money. Devamı

Very over priced. My 1st floor room faced an airconditioner and a dark ally

Pricey hotel- May be for the location but it was a dissapointment. I expected better quality. Pigeaon hole rooms, 2 feet wide bath tub where you had to stand side ways to fit in. AC did not work so I chose to leave the window open to get cold air. one of the two elevator di not work. Maze of stairway and hallways where one can easily get lost. Moderate […] quality of breakfast if not poor. slow free Internet Bottomline total waste of money and time. For the money I paid a lot more was expected. We loved this hotel. Very convenient to the subway stop, restaurants, and great museums. The hotel staff could not have been friendly and more helpful. We had a large room looking out onto the city street. Our room was very clean with all the comforts of home. A complimentary teapot with coffee and tea bags was provided. The rooms are extremely pokey and small. It reminded me of the hotels in Japan. For the tarifs charged the rooms are definitely not value for money. Only saving grace is the location of hotel which is walking distance to Gloucester Road underground. One lift out of 2 was out of order and even the one working was scary with slow speed and intemittent […] service. Stayed here when my kids were performing at the Royal Albert Hall. Excellent location for RAH and easy tube links into the city. Hotel looked good from outside and had a look of faded grandeur inside. New carpets and wall covering in our area, clean and tidy. Nice smiling staff. Comfortable beds and good in room facilities. Unfortunately I have had […] to reduce the stars for comfort and maintenance - both the rooms we used were noisy all night. My room had an inside bathroom and the fan would not turn off. It was veryu loud and we couldnt get to sleep for hours. Maintenance wwere unable to resolve as it linked throughout the hotel. Offered to move us, but it was late at night and my kids were (finally) asleep in next room. The kids room had an external bathroom, so no fan problem - but their secondary double glazing had been removed and the room overlooked Cromwell Road - lots of sirens & shouting until the early hours and early morning traffic. Overall a lovely hotel, and I would love to come back if I could be guaranteed a quiet room. Overall I do recommend - unless you are very sensitive to noise. Devamı

Very well appointed and comfortable.Very clean. Staff excellent and helpful. In very good area with local late night Restaurants. Had room 205 in back, we were 3 adults, very quiet, spent 7 nights there, slept extremely well which is essential to a good vacation in a busy city. Great breakfast, 1 minute from Gloucester tube.

This hotel is a block away from the Gloucester Road Underground Station on the Picadilly and District Lines, so an easy trip from Heathrow or to pretty much any London location. It's quite near the Natural History Museum, the Victoria and Albert, abundant shopping and restaurants. The public areas are pleasant: rooms are basic but decently maintained. […] My only gripes were a warm refrigerator and not-so-high-speed internet connection for a charge. To borrow an adaptor plug, the desk required a deposit. I asked for, and was given a room that I understand was somewhat larger than usual; it was certainly not huge, but was fine. There are several nearby supermarkets for snacks or nice small gifts of candy, cookies and so on. Overall, just fine. Devamı
