The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City - Arlington

Good location, great service, but mildew smell to our room, we changed it twice, we think it is the carpet or the vent, the hotel has a lot of traffic, it needs complete renovation to bring it back to the Ritz level

Overall the hotel was great but the television reception was bad, the hotel was not aware the mall was closed on Easter Sunday (we went there and security asked us to leave), and the pool needed some maintenance (floor was not leveled and there was puddles of water everywhere around the pool). I just expected a little bit more.

We stayed for 4 days to visit DC sites which were about 5 to 10 minutes via metro rail. Hotel was connected to the fashion mall which was great as we shopped and ate at restaurants in the mall. The metro rail is also at the mall so we didn't have to step outside to catch it. Hotel was clean and safe. Friendly staff throughout the hotel. Luv the steam […] n sauna rooms. The hotel is 2 metro stops (6 minutes) from National Airport...and 10 minutes from DC on the Metro. It is basically imbedded in a shopping center and is probably the closest Ritz-Carlton to a Costco in the world. Nice service and comfortable room. great stay...other than the guest in the room next to us brought in a prostitute at 3am. We stayed at this Ritz a few months ago and enjoyed the stay. However, our most recent stay was beyond our expectations. The bed was extremely comfortable and the customer service was fantastic. We will definitely be coming back.

The rooms are great but the staff needs training: concierges should know a decent barbecue restaurant and how to arrange tickets to Mt. Vernon; dining room tables should be bussed; and front desk staff should understand how to correct an erroneous bill left under the door. I usually don't stay at a hotel in this category of high service, but the location was perfect for seeing the sites of DC without having to drive into the actual city. You don't have to go outside to get to the Metro stop. Just exit the hotel into the upscale Mall and go down to the food court level to access the Pentagon City Metro entrance. From the […] moment we were greeted by the valet, to the end when we went back the next day to pick up the car after a day in the city, we were treated courteously professionally. Great stay for the family. The staff was superb. Thanksgiving week is great time to visit the DC area. This Ritz property is right on the Metro line also. I highly recommend!

Hotel was very good. Staff helpful and discrete. Am not a fan of being colocated at the shopping mall, but it did bring the advantage of having a Metro right outside the hotel door, that could whisk you into DC in just a few minutes. Excellent value for high-class accomodations.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights with our two small children and we were amazed at how nice and helpful the staff was. Every need was met and the staff went above and beyond to make us happy. The room was a little small compared to what we have stayed in when visiting other hotels but it was still comfortable. The room had plenty of towels, was […] super clean and appeared to be well maintained. Our only complaint was that the AC only kept the room at about 74 even though we had it set to 68. We arrived at the hotel a few days after a devastating thunderstorm had knocked out power to a large portion of DC, MD, & VA. The hotel had opened up to refugees that had no power so they did not have a room with 2 double beds as we had ordered. They gave us a room with a king bed and a rollaway bed. Excellent location with metro and a great shopping mall on site. Lots of fabulous restaurants within a short walk. My kids loved the hotel and their indoor pool. The hotel staff are very friendly and professional. They went out of their way to ensure that my comfort was their priority. Everything I requested was brought to me in a timely manner. They also gave me my privacy when I needed it.

Great experience from check-in to check-out. Perfect location, safe walk to all major conveniences. Some of the fixtures in the actual room felt a little dated, but the smiling faces and warm and accommodating service to my 4 year old (check-in gift was awesome) more than overcame the 80's fabulous feel of the room.

I would recommend this hotel to guests that would like to be near good shopping and have a car to get to other areas of DC and historic civil war sites. We stayed with the breakfast and parking package and were pleased with the hotel staff, dining staff, and friendliness of the people.

This definitely isn't the same Ritz since it became part of the Marriott chain. Other hotels in the area are better updated, like having charging ports in the rooms for laptops / cellphone. I had to charge mine in the bathroom, there were no other reachable electrical outlets.

The Ritz granted aerly check-in at my request, but we arrived at the normal check-in time at 3:00 PM. As mentioned in preivious reviews, the staff were very friendly and courteous, the room was very clean and modern, and the location allowed for last minute shopping, since there are several shopping areas nearby.
