Location is perfect its 5 mins( walking) away from everything... For everything else go somewhere else!!!! Not a hotel for a family vacation but if u r there for fun fun then go for it; also there s an extra nightly service fee that will be charged to ur account that its not mentioned when reserved.

Aside from the excessively loud dance music going until early morning in the lobby, the dingy hotel room with dim lighting, a lingering scent of vomit on the front porch, groups of lewd men harassing us and a man being arrested outside of my hotel window...the Carlton Hotel was not the worst hotel we could have stayed in for the price. Hotel front desk staff was very attentive and accomodating, but the hotel needs major renovation. The carpets are filthy and the A/C leaked and left a major puddle on the floor, and wet my shoes in the closet. Maintenance was called out to fix the problem, and for the inconvenience my resort fees were waved and I received complimentary breakfast. The […] lobby bar and front patio has a lively scene. The location is great! There is one thin I wish it was specified before booking it. There is another charge from the hotel that is not included in the fee paid on hotel.com. Call the hotel to make sure you don't get any surprises on your check out.

Dust in bathroom about 1/2 inch thick.... Bugs smushed into window shades. However bed made everyday and new towels delivered daily. Location perfect. Right in the middle of everything and close to the beach

The building that houses this hotel is about to crumble. It looks good at first glance, but then you realize it's held together with paint. I'm surprised they have a 3 star rating. The windows have no soundproofing whatsoever, the doors have gaps around them so you hear everything in the hallway. The dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at. We could not wait to check out.

This hotel is a good deal for the price. Well located, close to anything, the sea, the shops, the restaurants. And furthermore, it was very comfortable. Sure it's needed a little renovation but we don't mind. Good price, good location!

The hotel did not meet my expectations. The hotel staff was not service minded. The hotel was full of drunken springbreakers screaming and shouting every night.

The Hotel Carlton is good for being in Miami overnight. We had a double bed room and it was very small, but comfortable. The Hotel is old just like many of the other hotels on the same strip and does not look as nearly as fabulous as the pictures on the website. It's not great, but it's not too bad either. This hotel was not at all what I expected. It was fine if you're looking for a no frills, basic, conveniently located South Beach hotel. The room was small and dim. The bathroom was too small and outlet for our mini fridge didn't work. We asked for the outlet to get fixed and the maintenance man spent over an hour (literally) fixing a wall socket that […] was already working. Sweet man, but ridiculous. Every day they bump music loudly from about 8am to 11pm, which is super annoying. Napping wasn't an option because of the music. The drinks at the bar are way overpriced for what they serve - weak drink in a small plastic cup. It was a bit insulting to have to pay so much, not get a lot, and also be guests of the hotel. A drink comp would have been nice. The pool was a bit dingy, but in actuality everything was a bit dingy. The lobby is full of cheesy furniture that looks cheap. All in all, I'd say the hotel photographs well, i.e. in real life it is ugly, dingy, small, and tacky. Would I stay here again? Probably not. Need a renovation

Myself and another guest stayed at the Carlton and the location was close to the beach but other then that it was horrible. Next to the street hearing car honking sirens go off. The windows were original when the building was but. Just very poorly maintained. I do not recommend this place at all!!

It is a great loactaion, but it is very nosey. You can hear all the traffic and activity from the street.

The hotel is nothing to write home about but it serves its purpose by being close to the action and near the beach. Stay here if your intention is to spend your money on activities not where your sleeping

I suspect that all those Art Deco buildings are all the same - very small rooms, long smelly corridors with low ceilings, etc. The hotel was dirty, the room was super small - enough just to fit the bed. 2 lights were out even after I told them three times one of these lights was hanging out of the ceiling Bugs in the shower Left trash in room until I said something Bed sheets were dirty from previous renter The room was a lot smaller than we were led to believe when I hear suite I think good size room and good size shower not a big bed in a room barely […] big enough to hold it and a 34" tv with basic cable I was also told this room was recently renovated how recent 20 years ago the only thing in the room even relatively new was the tv and that thing was at least five years our door was located in a stair well and all through the night we heard loud club music and all the vehicles driving by I also had to pay "resort fees" which paid for my right to use there wifi and on top of that I had to pay 25 Dollors a night just to park my car in there parking lot which only fits eight cars I was also told that there was a lot behind the building when I looked it was just an alley I would not ever stay here again even if I was paid to. Very much a low budget hotel in a poor area and in need of refurbishment.

smelly room, cant open window, no parking space

Extremely loud bottle/garbage alley with incredible staff arguments outside kept us up most the night. Changing the room to the front of the hotel was far quieter - the only helpful member of staff organized the move to the better room. Broken tile in bath, smell in hallways and stains on carpets. I stayed with my family one night for a layover and it worked for that purpose. The hotel clerk (maybe owner?) was very nice and friendly but very slow due to age and accidentally gave us the wrong room key. Unfortunately this led me and my family to someone else's room (bed undone, toothbrushes in the bathroom, money on the table), luckily nobody was […] there at the time or it could have been a bad situation. The room had a very strong pine sol type disinfectant odor which remained in my nose for many days after, in fact I can still smell it a month later for some reason. My take is that this works due to its great location for a layover or for a weekend of drunken partying. I would not recommend this for a family stay. Bottom line: you get what you pay for! Devamı

We didn't,t accept to stay at this hotel, the rooms smell bed without. Opened window. We got alternative Clinton hotel which is new and comfortable.

When we arrived we were given a room that already had guests. Upon getting the key to our second room we found it to be dirty but heard that it was the last room in the hotel so we figured we were stuck with it. There was zero customer service and each time I had a question I was made to feel like I was inconveniencing the employee. This hotel was definetly not as nice as the pictures were when we booked on line. Our room was located in the stairwell which was very odd. Room was very small & the chairs & tables had stains on them. My husband & i were in town for a wedding & stayed only a quick 2 nights thank goodness. The location of the hotel was great. This hotel worked very well for me and my college-age kids. It is close to many central features of S Beach, is affordable, clean and my room was surprisingly quiet. Contrary to other reviews of this hotel, the staff was very helpful and cooperative...and very busy. I would definitely use this hotel again when visiting S Beach Miami.

This hotel looked appealing from the website, it's location, and the price. However I would not stay there again. Walking into our room, we noticed garbage next to the bed, the robe was used and hanging on the bathroom door, and there were used items in the bathroom from the previous guest. During the night/early morning, we could hear people slamming […] doors frequently throughout the hotel, and were also woken up by the extremely loud garbage trucks in the alley behind the hotel, which our room faced. The Carlton Hotel is great for young adults wanting the south beach experience. The hotel is close to all of the restaurants and night clubs, and it is within easy walking distance to the Lincoln Road Mall. This hotel should have been rated a two star hotel. The lobby is dingy and it's a true hint to what you're in store for when going to your room. The carpet throughout the hotel is dingy and stained throughought. When I opened the door to my room I just said oh my God!! While the beding and curtains are what is shown in the online photos, the room is […] the size of a large closet. Because my "non smoking" room reeked of cigarette smoke - and the attendant at the front desk told me he had to have one of his workers confirm that the room smelled of cigarette smoke before changing my room I angrily decided not to move (I was only there for 1 night thankfully). My husband went to crack the window and we both fell out laughing because when you lift the shade you can clearly look directly into the bedroom next door to you with the couple laying in bed watching TV or ... whatever they chose to do. so we had to keep the shade closed to keep from watching a show ... or being a part of one. No worries, we decided to stay out as long as we could and purposeley took a sleeping pill to knock ourselves out so that we wouldn't be too creeped out to sleep. It's a shame since the location is great. I wish managment would walk around the lobby to see that the white leather sofa is torn and the circular rug is stained. Really those little things are easy to care for and really make a first impression. Talk about first impression, the front desk was extremely disappointing. The young man who tended to us […] on the days we stayed was completely apathetic and totally uninterested in any requests or assistance we needed. It's a shame since on the website it looks promising. A little customer service goes a long way. I wish I could recommend this place. It wasn't dirty per se, but it didn't make me feel clean. The location is near the beach so that was about the best part of the stay. For as much as we paid, I would say we should have gotten a lot more out of the experience.

Was very unsatisfied about my stayed here. We were on second floor of the building and it was the worse room we've stayed thus far. We were not able to sleep at all because of the noise from the street and a bus parked right on the street at 2:00 am with the engine on and we can hear the engine running, peoples talking, cars passing.... Dirty,out dated property.

What was advertised is not what you get believe me!!! Staff was not welcoming and hotel is very old.

Overall a decent hotel in an excellent location. There is a lack of management structure which is obvious when asking for anything out of the ordinary. Need to have a manager on duty overnight. Hotel is in a great location and the rooms are somewhat recently renovated, although they smell rather strange. Two days after I checked out of this hotel after only staying there for one night I noticed a $250 withdraw on my bank statement to "The Carlton Hotel" It took nearly two more days to get a manager on the phone to explain this charge. Apparently […] when checking in you give them the ability to bill you at their discretion for any damages they want to make up that happened in the room. Very unprofessional from the 16 yr olds at the front desk to the rude management that is near impossible to reach. We choosed the hotel because of its location next to Ocean Drive - a one minute walk. So far it was o.k. Unfortunatelly it starts with unfair conditions: although the complete price including all tax and fees was prepaid, we had to pay an additional surpricing "dayly resort fee", 12,5 $ plus tax a day (!) Moreover our room was unbearably loud - you […] hear every word your neighbour says. Even in the night till 3 - 4 a.m. the other hotel guests an the people outside are noisy crying, so sleeping was unpossible. Everything very-very old, different than picture,pool is dirty,stuff keeping clean linens on the floor in hallway,loud from street and guests, however frontdesk is friendly and helpful .

It took over 30min to check-in at the counter, when I confirmed and paid for my room online. The elevators were rickety and very slow. There was mold in the bathroom, closet, on the ceiling, and unknown stains on the bed linens and pillows. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

The location was one block from Ocean Drive, which was a bonus, but the hotel itself was small, the rooms look like something you'd see in a mental institute. I asked for 2 queen beds, and was given 2 double beds, which were uncomfortable, so I had a sleepless night. The main doors were like closet doors, so the people partying down the hall were super […] loud.. Not a place to bring your kids, that's for sure. There was a resort fee, plus a fee for self parking, so there's another charge to your card for staying, which makes the deal for the room not look like such a great deal after all, but I guess the parking fee is expected, because of the location. Then in the morning when we were checking out, the elevator was out of order, so I had to carry my 2 heavy suitcases down 3 flights of stairs.
