this hotel is daily conveniently located to the bus and metro. you have to walk thru the smoking area to get into the hotel (probably 20 people out there at any given time). the rooms are not huge but have everything you need. the best part was the helpful staff. we needed directions, maps, & help with hotels in other cities and the front desk staff […] was very helpful and spoke english. but you have to ask for the maps, then they all come out. there is a restaurant down the street at the corner to the metro, STAY AWAY! the worst food on the planet. The hotel was convenient to a metro stop which was a few stops away from the bus station. We were able to get everywhere on the metro, including the airport and train station. The location is very close to Retiro Park and many restaurants and shopping areas. The hotel staff were friendly and spoke English. The hotel was very busy, with much activity […] in the lobby. This Hotel probably used to be "all that" in the 80s or 90s, whenever it was built. The building itself is fine, as are the rooms, although they do not meet the expectations of the aesthetic modern eye. But the service was dull, and there was a shortage of serviceS. It was my first time traveling through Spain and I found the staff to be more than helpful in getting me where I need to go as well as making recommendations for thing to do and go see. Althoug well located is a very noisy hotel. You can hear room doors slams in the whole floor and conversations of people in other near rooms.

It was a bit noisy place and they were doing some renovation, so don't remember to take your earplugs with you. Location was ok, a short walk to Madrid metro access and by metro you can easily get anywhere in Madrid. I had to queue for too long time to check in. The staff spoke good English though they weren't too friendly.

Decent if drab hotel, central location, great breakfast buffet and central location. Cheap but could do with some leisure facilities.

I couldn't believe when I was checking out and they added 30 euros to my bill for a phone call. It definitely didn't cost the hotel even 10% of that, so they found a great opportunity to make a few extra euros in exchange for loosing my respect and never having me back at their hotel. My room have a view to a window of another room - about 4 meters […] away, and not only this didn't make me particularly comfortable but also hardly any sunshine was reaching the room. This is an extremely nice hotel in which I felt completely comfortable and safe. It is three blocks or so away from the O'Donnell metro stop which is on the gray line (#6). FYI- You have to pay a lot to be able to use WiFi in your room. You can use your laptop for 30 minutes/day for free in the lobby. The TV was old and had very few channels.

The first thing to say about this hotel is that its location is excellent and its price is generally low. From the hotel, you can easily walk to the old town, the park is very close, and there is a metro station very close by, from which you can go anywhere in Madrid you like. The service is very consistent, the people there know English very well, […] and are kind and patient and helpful. But everything has a cost, and the costs are generally high. For example, internet is ~12 euros per day once you get a room. This is likely a compensation for the low room prices. Given the fair service and excellent location, only one thing keeps me from returning to this hotel: the room and bed. The rooms are generally built inside the complex, without windows, so you feel like you are sleeping in a cave. And the beds are rock hard, and very painful to the back. If you don't mind hard beds and windowless rooms, the price is right, and the neighborhood is wonderful. Buen viaje en España! Devamı

Good location but if your looking for a nice view and really nice room this isn´t probably it. Its just old and not very updated and our room was kind of a tight box but that is europe for you. If your looking for romantic this wouldn´t be it but if your with your friends and looking for a quiet area of the city not to far from most sites and on a budget […] its not terrible. Easy bus transfer to and from airport 2 euro on airport bus. Good pastry shops right next to the hotel and bunch of restaurants just a few blocks away in either direction. Metro is not far either. Good location but I would not recommend the hotel for people looking more than just a "clean bed".

I stayed here for one night recently before starting a tour. The hotel was good. We arrived early in the morning and were allowed to check in right away. Hotel Convencion is in an ideal location if you are attending a gig at Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid as its only a 4 min walk away...also its only a 3 min walk to the Madrid Airport Express bus stop which is very convenient. Staff at the Hotel Convencion Madrid were very helpful and had good English even though Madrid in general isn,t […] the best for English speaking locals. In general : Room was clean, staff friendly and helpful, and the hotel in a good location . Between the multiple service stairwells, the parking garage, and the late night/early morning activities, the hotel is very noisey. While the front desk tried to find me a room that was quiet, especially since I was staying for a week, they totally missed the mark on that idea. My room faced the front where, not only were their cars and buses idling, but also very loud people returning from their night out "whooping it up", not to mention the cigarette smokers that still seemed to make their presence be known all the way from the front entrance to my fifth floor room. The bed (all three single beds; even though I was traveling alone)was very uncomfortable -- one just as bad as the next with no support what so ever. There are no ice or beverage/snack machines anywhere and I had to buy everything at the bar. My safe was locked when I arrived. Security came by and opened it; but it still did not lock properly. We needed a room for one night. Hotel Convencion met our expectations. It was not in the heart of the city, but it was convenently located 2 blocks from a metro stop. The lobby was very nice and the rooms were nice as well. Also, they held our baggage in a secure room after check out time so we could go sight see some more before our flight later that […] night. Our family had a pleasant stay in the hotel Convencion, which has a superb location. But in the day of our departure there was no water in the hotel from 5 am (when I woke up) until 7:15 am (when we left).

Hi. Check in was professional and quick and first impressions great. Concierge took our luggage and delivered it to our room. The room was supposed to be a double but it actually was two twin beds pushed together. I could live with that but the sound proofing in hotel dreadful. We were on the 6th floor and facing out on an extremely busy street, looking […] right across at a maternity hospital. The noise from the traffic was endless even with the windows closed and the curtains pulled. The hotel is a good 40 minute walk to the Puerto del Sol which is the happening area. Did not mind the location too much as plenty of transport available and we like walking. The Retiro Park is about 5 mins walk away and it was our break from the awful noise. It was impossible to relax in the room. The room was clean and beds had nice fresh linen and changed daily. TV had no English channels. Breakfast was OK. Last breakfast was at 10.30 am and of course we assumed (being Irish) that we would take our seats at 10.30 and have a nice leisurely breakfast. However they really mean it 'finishes' at 10.30am. They were clearing everythign away in front of us. The bacon and eggs were Ok. Fruit was nice and fresh but the organge juice was not freshly squeezed. You made your own toast which was fine. Not much of a breakfast - so much so that after the first morning we did not have breakfast the 2nd and 3rd day. We ate out instead. If I was going again I would stay closer to Puerto del Sol and pick a sound proofed room. Devamı

over-all the hotel exceeded our expectations. with the same price, i can go back every month - it's a great room for the money. it is close to the metro, excellent neighborhood. we did not expect a very good airconditioning system.

The location isn't bad but, it's a little of a walk to the metro.

This hotel is somewhat dated, but clean and run professionally. Staff is courteous. The value is in the location as the hotel is situated about 8 blocks from the Retiro park, and about a mile and a half from the museum and historic districts. You can also take the #2 metro which stops a few blocks from the hotel. A similar hotel in the museum district […] or the historic district will run you twice as much. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is decent, but has little character. Access to the freeway to the airport is easy. One issue is parking: the hotel does not own the parking garage and they charge a hefty 24 Euros per day. Devamı

Bastante perto do Parque del Retiro, mas suficientemente longe da azáfama para se poder repousar, este hotel não é de todo desagradável. A decoração do quarto era meio antiquada, mas estava limpo. Porém, no segundo dia não nos foram mudadas as toalhas, até faltava uma toalha de banho, e a colcha estava enrolada e atirada sob a mesa de cabeceira. El hotel está relativamente cerca al metro, permitiendo con ello el desplazamiento dentro de la ciudad a los distintos lugares turísticos. No cuenta con Servicio Internet gratuito en ninguna dependencia, por lo que se debe pagar por él, siendo de una calidad bastante baja. esta bien ubicado pero viejo y el personal poco amable necesita remodelacion urgente da la sensacion que se quedo en los setentas u ochentas

Atencion al cliente muy fria y distante, habitacio muy sucia y con mucho ruido. A las 8 de la manana ya tocaba a la puerta para limpiar la habitaion.Volveria por la cercania de los monumentos y ubicacion del hotel, pero creo que deberian mejorar el estado y servicio del mismo.

El hotel esta ubicado en una zona inmejorable. La limpieza es nefasta, los vasos del banho estaban sucios, las ventanas, el espejo, y habia polvo por todos los lados. Mucho ruido en los pasillos, atenci'on muy impersonal. No volvere.

Es muy poco acogedor. Las habitaciones carecen del servicio de refrigerio. La nevera si existe, pero se encuentra vacia. Se trata de un macro hotel con un laberinto de corredores, que dificultan hasta que llegas a familiarizarte, la localizacion de tu habitacion. No te acompañan hasta la misma ni en la primera ocasion que es cuando realmente tienes […] esa dificultad, sumandole que en ese momento vas cargado con maletas... Devamı

Geweldig hotel, heerlijk ontbijtbuffet, goede service, dichtbij Retiropark en metro (O Donnell). Van buiten is het geen mooi hotel maar van binnen prachtig entree, mooie grote kamers en prijstechnisch erg goed. Een aanrader

Très bien situé, très calme, très propre, nous avons toujours mangé à l'extérieur donc nous n'avons pas d'avis à donner concernant le service restauration de l'hôtel. Nous conseillons cet hôtel et si nous retournons à Madrid, nous retournerons dans celui-ci !

Realmente esta accesible a aeropuerto y tiene dos estaciones de metro cerca, Ademas esta muy Cerca de Goya que es un centro de tiendas y comercios

O hotel possui uma boa relação de custo e benefício, pois não é caro, possui uma boa acomodação de quartos e está dentro de Madrid, porém não tão próximo das atrações turísticas. Contudo nada que vinte minutos de metrô não resolvam. Aliás necessita apenas de cinco minutos de caminhada até ele. O ponto fraco do hotel é a cobrança dos serviços. As coisas […] do mini bar são caríssimas. A internet é muito cara e de baixa qualidade. Mas quanto às compras de coisas para o mini bar, existe um supermercado muito próximo, e o pessoal do hotel não se importa. Se você não se importa em comprar coisas fora e de ficar alguns dias "sem internet", ou pagar um pouco mais pelo serviço, esse é um excelente lugar. Devamı

Ficamos num quarto quádruplo(familia - 01 casal + 02 crianças), as camas eram confortáveis,o tamanho do quarto era bom, mas a porta que fazia a separação dos quartos estava em péssima conservação, a televisão era modelo do século passado,com uma imagem ruim. Ao derredor existia apenas 02 opções de restaurantes nada convidativos.Sem nenhum mercadinho […] ou padaria por perto.Estacionamento muito caro. A hora do wi fi era carissima. Não voltaria a este hotel. Mas não posso deixar de agradecer a boa vontade do recepcionista jovem que nos orientou quanto aos pontos turisticos. Devamı
