Hotel Prim - Mexico City

Hotel too old, cleanliness too poor, old plumbing, the rate was so good just for sleep in or visit other places and don'tn worry about the night payment; The best thing in the hotel was the breakfast, it was so great and tasteful.

Hotel Prim was clean for the most part. I booked online a smoking room and upon arrival filled out a paper that said "smoking". When we got in the room it was non smoking. No big deal but when we went to request a smoking room the staff did not want to change our room. After a bit of talking the employee led us to a room on another floor. The "smoking […] floor" was noticeably more dirty than the last, and all the lights were turned off as to hide the stained carpets. We got inside and it was not as nice as the previous room, and I noticed there was no bottle of water in this room. In the first room there was a bottle of water and two empty plastic cups over top of the bottle. Not in this room, no bottled water.. I found nothing but 2 empty plastic cups and one of them had lipstick on it! Not my own lipstick, but someone else 's! I told the front desk about it and and a lady said she would take care of it but never did. Poor service. Another thing, the ad also says this place has Airport shuttle service, nope. It's an over priced taxi they call for you. False advertisement as well! Devamı

It's a very good place. I had really good time and on my next trip to Mexico City for sure I will stay at Hotel Prim again.

The hotel will call a taxi for you. They are supose to be secure..But be aware. Not true!

Elevator is not working. Restaurant very bad. Room very noisy and they don't have bussines centre as they anounce on her web page. This hotel is very old. Not recomended.

The hotel is old and not in very good condition. There are much better options in the neighborhood for a much similar price.

This is the third time I stayed at Hotel Prim and the three times I have had a not too goog experience with the customer service. I keep coming back because the location is really convenient, the Hotel is located at a walking distance to Reforma Street and it is easy for you to go from there to the Centro Historico. The price is great is you dont mind a hot room with no AC. Sorrounding neighborhood is ugly and was scary having my whole family with me. I would just pay the extra money next time for a better location and better room. This would be ok if you are a male, staying solo, and hurting for money..

Hotel Prim is a good place to stay during your visit. The staff is great. It's convenient to most attractions and the Metro. Surrounding neigborhoods are fine and filled with many restaurants and tiendas. Some shortfalls: No air conditioning so when we're there, it was uncomfortable to sleep at night. The actual hotel and the photos they post are not the same, the photos show a nice well taken care place, but in reality the hotel is very old, wasted, and stinky. We arrived around 10 am, check in time is at 1:00 pm, so they charged me a full extra day to let us in, which I paid because we where very tired from the trip. They gave us a very small room, […] compared to what the photos show. From the moment you step into this place there is a funny smell, from the desk, the elevators, to the room and the restroom, is hard to tell what smelled worse. My wife and I sleep for two hours and that was as much as we could take from this place. I called hotels.com customer service to change our reservation and 20 minutes after we where on our way to another hotel, which ended been a very decent place. I had to pay a cancellation fee but it was worth it. I asked the guy that helped us carry our stuff to the room about complains, and he said that everybody that makes their reservation over the Internet complains that the photos and the actual hotel are not the same. Be sure to ask for an inside courtyard room--many rooms face west and are hot. The description states 3 star but it does not state there is no A/C--this is important even in May. Great neighborhood-close to Reforma. Safe. Not really near a metro stop. The hotel was probably nice 25 years ago but it is now quite shabby and in need of renos. However, rooms are clean and decent for the price and location, which is a walking distance from such places as the Ciudadela Artisan Market, Museum of Fine Arts, the Paseo Reforma, tourist bus and city buses and metro. I have written a review about this hotel. I would advise anyone going to Mexico City to check out the areas where there are things you want to see and to stay near those things as taxi prices are unbelievable. Great if you are familiar with the subway system or bus system . . .stay anywhere. This hotel was quite a distance from anything I wanted to […] see except for the Zocalo and the Museo de Bellas Artes. Those were within walking distance. BUT you must be careful. The hotel price is great, but the noise is horrific from the street and sometimes from the lobby. There is no air conditioning. They failed to give me a wake up call, and I almost missed my flight. I almost missed my flight home as I did not receive the promised wake up call. I had stayed at this hotel twice before and HAD received the call. I think someone's nose was out of joint because I complained so vigorously about the noise the day before. When I stayed in early July, I asked that on my return trips, I have a room without excessive noise. […] The second visit, they gave me the exact same noisy side of the hotel. On my THIRD visit, first, the room was unready which I understand as I was quite early. BUT they moved me to a room in which there was CONSTANT music which came from the lobby. I had become quite ill and could not abide it. I had to call twice to finally get moved. I was so sick that I went down the hall barely dressed and without shoes. THEN, a group of teens and their parents were put in the rooms around me. Not only did the teens do typically teen-aged things like continuously knock on each others doors, but they also were spraying paint, the smell of which made me quite ill. I had to go out into the hall twice, once to ask them to be quite and once to ask them to do something about the odor. Both times, they shut their doors which were wide opened onto the hall. In addition, their parents got into a huge fight to which I had to listen. Devamı

Over the course of the summer I had four seperate reservations at the Prim between trips to other parts of Mexico. I stayed in a single, two doubles, and one suite. All rooms were clean and ready on arrival as requested. This is not a fancy hotel so everything is not new, but everything is taken care of. The Prim has an almost enjoyable air of faded […] glory -- it is clear (from the plaque in the lobby about a presidential visit, for example -- that the Prim at one point was higher on the fancy spectrum. I mention all this because despite the worn nature of the hotel, my impression is that the employees still take pride in the place. I had nothing but positive interactions with the employees over my several visits, and this was with a wide variety of folks at all times of the day and sometimes when requesting changes or considerations. If space is important to you, spend the extra money and get a suite. Some of them (I stayed in one and some friends were in another) are huge and all seem to be at least big. The regular single or double rooms are plenty big in my opinion, but the suites have seperate sitting areas and a fridge. The wireless Internet is indeed free and fast, although you may want to request a room near the elevators and/or the front air shaft (that is, the one closest to Calle Versalle) for the signal to reach you. In one of the four rooms the signal was too weak, but it was easy enough to use the Internet in a common area. I did not partake in the free continental breakfast because I like to sleep all morning (and it goes to noon) so I can't attest to it. I believe it is rather minimal, as continental breakfasts are, so don't expect a feast. Have your big meal for lunch, like the locals! The walk to the Metro is about 10 minutes (to the Cuauhtemoc station) and there is another metro station nearby on another line which I didn't use. This was the cheapest hotel I found on Hotels.com at the time of booking. The rooms are old and outdated but clean. Service was very good. It was much better than I expected, including the proximity to Zona Rosa. Highly recommend for the budget traveler.

No air conditioning, No alarm clock, No Iron, No remote control for the TV. If you're on a seriously low budget, good spot. If you can splurge a few more pesos, do it!

The location of the hotel is very disappointing. It is in the middle of a rundown neighbourhood but i would say its safe. Its quite far from the metro station and from la reforma. The hotel staff are very nice I would say. The room and the bathroom are quite old already and I would say you could smell the oldness of the room. This hotel is excellent. All the tourist sites are near and very safe. The staff is excellent and friendly. I will always stay here.

The service at Hotel Prim is wonderful. The staff is ready to please. The location is the best. Close to everything. Here's the bad part, their continental free breakfast consist of half a piece of fruit, two slices of toast, coffee/tea & a 4oz of oj. Not enough food. Clean rooms.

Depending on the purpose of each one and taking into account the cost of a room per night, this hotel exceeded expectations. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean, but best of all its employees are all very nice, friendly, kind and helpful. Yes I would recommend it. This hotel offers an outstanding location and many amenities. It is close to the theater, tourist areas, and public transportation. The rooms are clean and the restaurant is reasonably priced. The staff is welcoming and helpful. In fact, this is the third year I have stayed here and I have always been very satisfied.

Hotel Prim was very excellent for me and my family. The service and the staff was great. The only thing we did not like was the service in the hotel's restaurant. The great thing was that the hotel had their own taxi and tour services. We had a great tour guide that showed us around the most important attractions in the city. Rooms need upgrade as well as the hotel itself. Employees are very accomodating and well trainned. Restaurant is fairly good. Considering what you pay, it is a very good buy. Do not expect champagne while on a beer budget. Would I use it again? Yes if I cannot afford a better hotel

por la ubicacion esta bien, pero si le falta algo de mantenimiento, la atencion es buena.

El servicio es muy acotado... por momentos da la sensacion de que hacen un favor a la gente haciendo lo minimo. Pedimos un plano de la ciudad y era una fotocopia muy triste, la gente que trabajabe en el hotel no estaba bien informada de los puntos turisticos... cualquier persona que caminaba por la calle te explicaba mejor... Llegamos y el primer […] dia en el buffet nos tomaron el cambio del dolar casi de una manera "estafadora"... cosas que no hacen que uno como turista se sienta ayudado y acompaniado siendo huesped. El desayuno "continental" eran un cafe, pan tostado, manteca y mermelada... lejos de lo que uno puede esperar como "continental" Estaba descuidado un poco viejo... No volveria. Devamı

La habitacion que nos toco la 412 estaba en regulares condiciones, pero se podria mejorar ya que como que seestacionaron en una epoca y de ahi no han salido, o sea como que la tendencia es a no querer cambiar y mantenerse asi hasta donde aguante, hay poco atractivo para el que se hospeda no hay sala de internet o computo, falta en ocaciones agua en […] las habitaciones, tambien toallas y para todo se pide deposito como es por la plancha y el control de television, ademas que a la 10 ya no funciona el rstaurant y el bar no tiene una carta de alimentos,,,,señores inviartanle es un buen negocio solo que les falta mas atencion Devamı

es un hotel de paso , la atencion excelente de la gente de recepcion pero los banios se inundaban tube que llamr varias veces a que vinieran a secar o repar porque estba inundado , el excusado no funcionaba bien, la atencion de la cafeteria los meseros dejaban mucho que desear no atendian bien, pero el resto estubo pasable solo para ir a dormir puesto […] que fui con mi familia y pase el dia paseando Devamı

Fuimos muy bien atendidos por el gerente pero realmente el hotel deja mucho que desear huele a cenicero y pues aunque la construccion esta buena como que ya le s hace falta renovarse tienen muebles muy viejos y sucios el precio en oferta fue bueno pero no porque sea oferta debe estar tan obsoleto gracias en el restaurant la comida esta muy mala guacala […] yo solo pague y no me comi nada en fin lo unico bueno es que ahi se presenta Patrizio Poly y los Bribones que hacen un show espectacular pero con esos tienen ok los demas no me gustan mi comentario es para que mejoren porque seria lindo que estuviera muy confortable Devamı

Bien localizado, cerca de Reforma en una zona segura. Está en mala condición, la habitación muy pequeña y ruidosa. Sus instalaciones son viejas y necesita de una remodelación urgentemente! Es limpio y sus empleados colaboradores. No esperen que sea una gran oferta, lo que pagan es su valor. El desayuno continental es café con unas rodajas de pan tostado, […] pero puedes pedir algo más y sólo cobran la diferencia. Si viajas con un presupuesto limitado yo buscaría algo mejor y pondría algunos dólares más y seguro se conseguirá algo bastante mejor. es un hotel viejo, diseño, camas, todo, si es nada mas para dormir, esta bien, la ubicacion es buena, la comida 2-3 creo que esta cara, mejor salgan a comer, el desayuno continental es muy limitado, no se vayan con la finta, pero hay muchos tacos en los alrededores, para proximas visitas lo tomaria en cuenta, pero como 2 o 3 opcion,

Excelente ubicacion cerca del metro Cuauhtemoc, y cerca del Auditorio Nacional, para quienes como yo viajamos unicamente para asistir a un concierto esta perfecto la atención excelente, los cuartos limpios, la comida barata y rica, y el costo de la habitación ni se diga bastante accesible. Claro que lo recomiendo.

estadia confortable y bien atendido

Tiene buena ubicación para los que quieren visitar museos, teatro, a tres cuadra pasa el autobús, lo recomiendo.
