Not a great hotel at all; much further away from the attractions than it advises, but more importantly than that, the hotel rooms are incredibly small and very, very noisy. A good nights sleep was not had on either night. The bathroom was so small that I could not bend over to use the sink without leaving the door to the bedroom open, and the shower […] was just downright unusable due to its size. The room was not cleaned to a satisfactory standard after our first nights stay, or any day to be precise. Hotel staff are friendly, but varied. Only one of the desk personnel was of any use; others seemed more interested in watching their laptop or sorting out drawers than serving people. The only saving grace for this hotel was the fact that it is directly on a relatively good Metro station, and it's a very short walk from an amazing bakery. For the money it costs to stay here, you can get better places for less in the better districts of 6/7er... Don't stay at Hotel Sophie Germain. Devamı

Newer hotel with small but fairly modern rooms. Massive bed but tiny bathroom. Air conditioning provided. 1 minute walk to line 4 metro station. Very safe and less touristy part of Paris. Would recommend some of the cafes nearby for breakfast though. Service is excellent.

I normally try to find the cheapest hotel possible (bad idea in Paris, it will be a scary hotel), but for a comfortable room with free WiFi right across from Metro Mouton Douvernet, this price was worth it for two nights. The neighborhood is safe, and the rooms are modestly sized but well-kept. Their staff seems to speak English by default if they think […] you don't know French, but they are friendly and helpful, and will switch to French if you speak it well. If you're traveling to and from Orly airport, this hotel will be one of your best options, since the cheapest and easiest transportation, the OrlyBus, picks up and drops off at Denfert-Rochereau every 15 minutes (one stop away from Mouton Douvernet, and within walking distance). This inexpensive hotel has small room and the bathroom could do with a makeover, but the staff were very friendly and helpful and the metro nearby made access to the sights of Paris easy.

Clean, helpful, polite, not a problem at all with this hotel on that front. However, there is NO air-conditioning. I was staying there in June, it was a cool and wet June but in a real Paris summer you would suffer in this place. Oh yeah, and the shower cubicle was small even by Paris standards and trying to move around within it and trying not to knock […] the hot water handle to avoid scalding, well all this was difficult but not enough to make me stay away. This is a very old building, but well kept. There was no shower curtain and the showerhead was handheld, but this is not surprising in France. The staff was more than accomodating,which balanced out the shower inconvenience. The breakfast was somewhat minimal for 12 euros, but for the first morning in a foreign country, it was great!

The hotel was nice and modern. The room was very small but this did not matter as we was only there for a weekend. The shower was also very small but apart from this everything else was fine. There was free WiFi and a free safe (you need to pay a 20 euro deposit). The room was cleaned every day and there was a heater and a fan that could be turned […] on or off. The area around the hotel didnt seem like a tourist area and not many people spoke English. This didnt matter because there is a metro just up the road where we could jump on a train and get anywhere in paris. The metro system is excellent, very easy to use and trains arrive on time and every 5 minutes. It is cheap to buy tickets as well. The rooms are not big enough for even one person. The bathrooms are a joke. Anyone over 5'0" tall, 110 lbs will have a problem moving around in the bathroom. There was a broken shower head which shot water all over the bathroom when ever you turn the water on. I reported this to the front desk and was told that it would be looked into. I believe they […] looked into the shower turned the water on and watched the water spew out all over the bathroom to confirm the report. Then they turned the water off and left the bathroom as is. Yep, wet and with a broken shower head in place. It was never replaced while I was there. The information on the website states that the rooms are insulated from surrounding noise. Really??? This was hardly the case. I could hear the conversations going on in the next room. OMG! The people above my room must have been doing some kind of clog dance the whole night . I could hear them moving about the room the whole night. Now as for keeping warm that was covered because the heat could not be regulated within our room. Well that's not true, I had to sleep with the windows opened. So I was up often through out the night to either open or close the window. Paris in the winter with the night temperature lingering around the 40 to 48 degree range. Over all this was a bad choice, I would NEVER stay at this hotel again NEVER! Some of the hotel staff were mean to others in my party. Some were just mean in general and must have been put out to deal with guests. I have never experienced such rudeness in Paris before. Well I guess if one lives long enough you might see anything. I have way too much more to report on this hotel than I actually have time to write. Don't do it....... This hotel is located in southern Paris, comforable and safe area. The nearby METRO is one minutes away, and RER B line connected to the two major airports is within 10 min walk. Have stayed in many hotels in Paris, this one had the smallist shower ever. The location is great , the Metro is less than a block away, the RER is just a couple of blocks, so, taking the train from CDG or Orley is easy and cheap.. I would stay here again.

This hotel is very cute, clean and comfortable...what more could you ask for. We were at first disappointed when we arrived at this hotel and found where it was located because the Hotels.com rep told me it was right around the corner from the one we had been at previously (added on another day in Paris last min) and close to Paris city centre. It in […] fact was not close to the city centre but we able to take a short metro ride into the city where all the action was without any problems. Hotel Germain is situated in an excellent location and very close to several Metro stations. Nice room and decent bathroom except for the occassional old pipe smell - which we managed to handle by clsoing the sink and bath. A really nice and safe area with a great patisserie across the place where you can get great croissants. The female frontdesk attendants […] were pleasant but the one male attendant was kind of stepping his line with unprofessional flirting. The housekeepers pleasant and friendly. I had a really lovely stay here. I arrived in Paris after a harrowing journey on Air France causing me to miss my travel connections and with no compensation from them. I was left in a position where I had to find my own last minute hotel in Paris and I was so pleased that I found this place. The reception guy was really friendly, the room was lovely, […] the location was perfect for where I needed to be (I needed to catch an early train) and it made for a lovely end to a stressful day. The hotel is just a block from the metro and three blocks from the RER, which makes it the most convenient location where I've stayed in Paris. Although the hotel was clean and orderly, we were disappointed that the only room available to us was the first floor room directly next to the hotel's front desk. The problem was that the room was almost too […] small for two people, and that you couldn't leave the window open without risking passersby jumping into the room to take your stuff (no A/C and we were there in the heat). We tried to change rooms, but the hotel staff refused to consider it. Still, I'd consider returning if I could secure a different room. Service staff was good, and receptionists spoke good English. Rooms are comfortable, breakfast is good, though expensive. Hotel was clean. The pillowcases on my bed were worn. No air conditioning, but pretty good ventilation from the large window, although it wasn't hot when I was there. I returned in the middle of the day one time to discover maintenance […] tools sitting on my toilet. I had not been warned that anyone would be in my room that day. Renovation occurred during my stay, hotel room where I've stayed is very loud and noisy. They wanted to take my room card weird isn't? did give it to them and they ended up charging me 1 euro per day additional after paying everything through expedia wasn't expecting these fees. I don't recommend it at all.

This place is no more than a 1 to 2 star hotel. It is not deserving of the 3 star rating!!! The price was outrageous too! The rooms are tiny, the bed was uncomfortable ( I could feel the bed springs digging into my back)! The bathroom smelled like mildew and had "blue water" in the toilet! Very noisy even with the windows closed at night! The oddest […] thing I discovered was I had to leave my hotel key every time I left the hotel! How scary is that! Hotel room is very small. Sometimes one person would have to go into the bathroom so the other person could move to the other side of the room. Location is great. Room was clean. Front desk helpful. But very tiny & there was no hot water in the afternoon & shower is only hand-held

The room was incredibly small and very basic. The bathroom shower is so small that if you are a little overweight you will have trouble getting in. The ceiling of our bathroom was leeking as it was raining very much when we got to Paris. The neighbourhood was very quiet and spooky looking. A very basic room without any pretty Parisian touch... way too […] expensive for what you are getting. On the other had we also stayed at the Passy Hotel Eiffel and loved it. The hotel was a fair deal between price, location and services, the only issue was that the room was located right behind the check in desk, and that was slightly uncomfortable and extremely noise in the morning because all the noise of the people coming in and out the Hotel made impossible to sleep.

The receptionist was on the phone when I arrived (although she was conversing in French, it sounded it was a personal call), she didn't hang-up but went on talking while giving me the key card and just told me to go downstairs where my room was. The key was working. She was still on the phone when I told her it was not working. I was complaining about […] the room but she didn't care. She said that what was assigned to me and she cannot tranfer me to another room. There are much better 3 star hotels in Paris. It's right next to the Metro, but so are most of the other hotels. The rooms and bathroom are very very small. Hostile quality. The bathroom is on the gross side with no room to get ready. We actually left after the second night and got another hotel room. It should be a 2 star hotel not 3.

Very clean and reasonably comfortable hotel for its price. Very friendly English-speaking staff. Located in 3 min. walking distance from metro and RER stations, so its very easy to get to/from Airports (CDG and Orly) as well as any part of the city. Not too far from the Garden of Luxembourg Great hotel for its price!

I had not stayed in this area and whilst it was a little of hassle to get to; it was very convenient to trains and had a great cafe area next to it Rue De Garre i think it was called. it looked over a street that was very noisy but that is Paris I guess and the hotel staff were exceptional; great recommendations and help. I would recommend it.

Small clean room, with two twins pushed together to = a double. We were too tired to care and that sounds rather common.. Big, clean bathroom. True there is no shower curtain, but just aim the showerhead at the wall and you're fine. Friendly front desk service, no unexpected charges upon checkout. Super convenient to Denfert-Rochereau train station. […] Walked to Luxembourg Gardens from the hotel, even to the Eiffel Tower (convenient train rides back until late). Safe neighborhood, though, yes, delivery trucks and scooters do make some noise down below. Overall great find! Have already recommended to a friend coming to Paris in a week's time. The hotel is conveniently close to the Denfert-Rochereau subway station which goes right to the Charles DeGaulle airport. It was also convenient for walking to many sites--an hour walk to the Eiffel tower, or Notre Dame. Nice and clean. It was hot and noisy outside. I heard that lack of air conditioning should be expected in Paris. The last night they […] actually brought a portable air conditioner up to my room--so if it is uncomfortable perhaps ask for one. This hotel is in a great location - away from the hustle and bustle of the Seine but a stone throw away from a Velib', metro and RER station giving you access to everything in minutes. The neighbourhood is very nice with café and local restaurants nearby... The location was perfectly convenient ( 5 min walk from metro and Orly bus stop), the staff were thoroughly friendly and convivial (spoke both English and French without any issue), the room was wonderfully neat and tidy (a blessing in Paris). Naturally the shower cubicle was small - but that is Paris.

Great little French hotel. The staff were very nice and helpful. Great location to public transport and easy to access all parts of the city. The hotel is nothing more and nothing less than what it claims. It was small, clean and safe. If you are looking for a cheap hotel with no thrills this is your place.
