Gran Melia Fenix - Madrid

I booked a Deluxe room at the Gran Melia in Madrid. In my booking it stated that I had a room with city view, but in fact I was given a small box room with a tiny window facing the emergency staircase in the courtyard. The window hardly let any natural light in. Pointing this out at the reception desk I was only given the choice to upgrade with certain […] costs involved. This was a great stay with excellent service, beautifully appointed rooms as well as general areas. Good housekeeping. Excellent breakfast. Highly recomendable. Perfect location for downtown visits to museums, shopping, downtown strolls, etc.

Really enjoyed this stay..we were pampered. If driving, be prepared for £27 per night parking..and £27 per person breakfast. However, you can find a cafe @ £4 per person for coffee and pastry. The staff are excellent and nothing is too much troubled.

This hotel is a real value for money! Excellent stuff! This is my first in Madrid always. One of the best and brightest!

Book the Red level - it gives champagne on arrival at unique check in and free bar and snacks. We thought it good value and a very nice hotel not too far out from the centre. A comfortable nights stay.

The staff at the Gran Melia Fenix are very well trained to be pleasant and friendly and competent. In most ways the staff exceeded expectations, including giving us presents when they found out it was our wedding anniversary. But the room we were given on check-in was adjacent to one that was being painted with oil-based paints and the smell was so […] strong we became ill. When we asked for a new room, the initial reaction was to offer a floor fan but even with the windows open in the coldest winter in 30 years, the smell was overpowering. We did get a new room on second request, but our clothing retained some vestiges of aroma. The hotel knew what work they were doing and their high professionalism in other ways makes this incident curious. Still I would recommend this hotel if one makes sure to check out the room first. Unfortunately most of us who come from the western US to Spain are too tired to bother initially. Devamı

The Grand Melia Fenix is a fantastic hotel. The service is what we should expect in a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was remarkable and room service impecable. I have stayed at many hotels in Madrid and found that star ratings are not necessarily a description of the quality of the hotel.Just in the heart of Salamanca and near to all the sights. Understated luxury and elegance - reminded me of The Pierre Hotel in NYC. Excellent service, great location - loved this hotel !

The hotel was good but I got food poisoning after eating the Sea Bass at the hotel restaurant and had to call the ambulance.

The Gramn Melia Fenix is an excellent location. I however, do not recommend that you eat in the sarrounding restaurants. They are very expensive, you can go a little further and eat better and cgeaper food. The brekfast at the hotel was exquisite and plentiful. It is worth every penny yoiu spend. We stayed at the Gran Melia Fenix for 3 nights during our honeymoon and it was a wonderful hotel. The staff was all very friendly and they even surprised us with champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries upon our arrival! The hotel was well-maintained, clean, stylish and comfortable, but my only complaint would be that it was a bit of a walk from […] the main attractions. The hotel made up for this however, by lending us bicycles at no extra charge! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. Devamı

Each and every one of the hotel staff was genuinely gracious and friendly and superbly professionally competent.

During our visit to Spain we stayed in six different hotels all over the country and Gran Melia Fenix was BY FAR the best!! The property is very well maintained and in a great location within walking distance of shopping and museums but what really sets this hotel apart from the others is the staff. We took two rooms, one for the adults and one for the teenage sons, for two nights. Both rooms were beautifully appointed but SMALL. It was okay for a couple of nights but trying to work around each other in the small bathroom was challenging. That is the only reason I marked a 3 on the comfort of the room. Our room was very nicely decorated and in excellent condition. Staff at the front desk were very friendly and spoke English fluently. The room rate was reasonable, given the quality of the accommodation. Breakfast was excellent but quite expensive. Food quality, in general, and the variety of fresh fruits offered, in particular, were exceptional.

This is a great hotel. The service was outstanding. The location is also very good. The suites are very reasonably priced compared to other hotels and worth the extra expense.

All good apart from the standard of the front desk staff and the concierge - didn't know where local shops were even though the hotel is next to Madrid's version of bond Street. Also prices in the bar ludicrously expensive. No wonder it wasn't busy.

We stayed two nights at the Gran Melia Fenix. The service was very friendly and professional. Our room was well-furnished to a high standard, as was the entire hotel. The room was not huge, but certainly large enough. Elegant, traditional luxury at a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend it to friends.

We arrived thinking that, since I had found this hotel by a simple web search, that it would be OK, but not brilliant (sorry, Hotels.com). But from the moment we came in, the service, the rooms and lobbies, everything was very impressive. So I was wrong (again, sorry, Hotel.com--by the way, I have no association with the web site and I can only remember […] using it this time for the first time). While the rooms were very small, the accommodations were truly wonderful and the hospitality of the staff was superb. The restaurants they recommended were also extraordinary (especially St. James). Breakfast was not included and it was a bit expensive (as at most hotels like this one), at about 25 Euro, but the food was great. The hotel is not for the tightest budgets, but relative to other hotels, a great value. Traveling for business to Europe frequently, this may be one of my best experiences yet. Highly recommended! O melhor hotel onde fiquei na Europa. Ótimo quarto, hotel lindo, bem localizado. Serviço de primeira. Café da manhã excelente. Recomendo sempre.

A localização do hotel é fantástica. Próximo aos principais pontos turísticos de Madrid, pode-se ir caminhando a todos eles. O atendimento de todos os funcionários é excelente. Destaque para o Jesus da recepção e Martha do café da manhã. A suite em que fiquei, número 117 foi perfeita, mesmo tendo vista para a movimentada Paseo del Prado, não se escutava […] barulho algum, pois existem duas janelas para isolar o som. O café da manhã foi com certeza o melhor que eu tomei até hoje, são 130 itens. Melhor inclusive que o brunch do Alvear. Minha única decepção foi que a academia estava fechada para reformas. A concierge do hotel providenciou para mim todas as reservas em restaurantes e entradas de shows. Foram 5 noites maravilhosas neste hotel. Recomendo. Devamı

Atenção vale á pena compra pelo menos 1 dia de café da manhã , mas os demais tem um panaderia proxima que satisfaz por muito menos da metade do preço de ¢30, por pessoa

O hotel e muito bom e o atendimento excelente. O cafe da manhã excelente. A localização boa perto dos museos, do metro, e da região da rua Serrano ( área de lojas das melhores marcas). O quarto foi muito pequeno, quase sem espaço para as malas, porém com uma decoração diferenciada e aconchegante.

ランキング上位にあり選びましたが、ホテルにスタッフさんの対応のよさに満足です。また、大通り沿いにあるので、夜もこわい感じはありません。 プラド美術館もタクシーで５分程度です。

NUNCA TINHA VISTO UM HOTEL COM FUNCIONÁRIOS TÃO PREPARADOS E EDUCADOS PARA RECEBER TÃO BEM OS HOSPEDES. CAFÉ DA MANHÃ DE ALTO LUXO. LOCALIZAÇÃO EXCELENTE. LIMPEZA ÓTIMA. LINDO, CONFORTÁVEL. MARAVILHOSO EM TODOS OS SENTIDOS. FINALMENTE ADOREI.

Excelente Hotel, boa localização, bom café da manhã, ótimo Staff. Recomendo.

個々の従業員は親切なのですが，ホテルのシステムに問題があると思います． ２つ部屋をとっていて，予約書を持参したのですが， 最初は一部屋だけの予約と間違われました． 夜12:00頃４人でついたのにです． また夜中，何もしてないのに突然ラジオの大きなサウンドがなりました． その後の対応は問題ないとは思いますが，システムの改善が望まれます．

Muy buena localizacion en el centro de Madrid. El servicio es excelente. La zona del hotel esta en estos momentos siendo remodelada por lo que estan las calles en mal estado. Un tema importante es que tienen pocas habitaciones non-smoking por lo que hay riesgo de que uno acabe en una habitacion de smoking que es lo que nos paso.

Gran Melia offers excellent accomodation in the centre of Madrid. Staff is very friendly and helpful - not least in the Food and Drinks section. Rooms are a bit dark, though, and you can't help notice that the hotel not new.

Très bon hôtel, service aimable et de qualité. Calme tout en étant près du centre Hôtel à ne pas manquer !

Vi letade efter ett lite större hotell med högsta standard utan att det var för dyrt och det stämmer bra in på hotellet. Lobbyn och rummen var mycket fina och frukosten var mycket bra. Kolla om det går att ordna så att frukosten ingår när ni bokar, annars kostar den ca 27 euro. Vi bokade frukosten alltid dagen innan och fick då priset 21 euro så det […] kan vara ett tips. Men den var värd priset. Var och tittade på Palace hotel som vi valde mellan och jag känner att vi gjorde ett bra val när vi valde Melia Fenix. Devamı
