GOVERNORS INN - Pierre

We had a king the room was spacious and very clean, the bed very comfortable. Tiny bathroom but adequate. Old fashioned (seems weird to say) TV - not a flat screen. OK breakfast - but it is free afer all.

I don't like to complain about help because I feel sometimes people have bad days but I walked into the hotel and was not greeted with a smile or a " Welcome!" The lady was very grumpy. I had booked online so I assumed it was all taken care of so I shared with the woman this and she said very snidely "well, you still have to give me a credit card to […] scan." Ok, so I did and did not get a thank you or anything.....then the room we stayed in had a dripping toilet so it ran all night. The beds were so uncomfortable! I usually don't mind hotel beds but this was not good. I guess if you are in a customer service buisness then you should try to accomodate guests with a welcoming gesture and friendly smile and update the beds. Devamı

WENT TO CHECK IN AND THEY DID NOT HAVE MY RESERVATION OR AN AVAILABLE ROOM. HAD TO GO AND GET MY CONFIRMATION NUMBER AND THEY BECAME A BIT MORE FRIENDLY. HOTEL IS OK--YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. DECENT BREAKFAST.

I went back to South Dakota to hunt pheasant last weekend. The hotel is located on the main street and is easy to find. When I walked in to the lobby, I was a little concerned. It had a funny smell. I checked in and received a room on the back side of the hotel, a good spot since I had my bird dog with me. There is a pet area out back which was nice. […] When I went to the room, the outside door had been kicked in. I called the front desk and it was repaired within an hour. Probably not the hotels fault, but some surveillance on the back side of the hotel would be a good idea. I think that with everyone coming in to hunt pheasant, the door was kicked in by someone trying to steal guns and such. We took everything with us each day, and had no problems. The room had two doors, one leading to the hall and the other opening to the parking lot. The hotel is located right next to a train track and the train coming through at 2:30 AM woke us the first night. The room was cleaned each day and was perfect for us. We used the hot tub and pool each day after hunting to relax and ease the sore muscles. Breakfast consisted of waffles and biscuits and gravy. Cereal and donuts were also offered. The bed was like being in a dish, sink to the middle, the train ran right by the hotel. I rented a king nonsmoking room through hotels.com and walked into a smoky room with a queen size bed. There must have been alot of smoking going on, as there were cigarette burns on the edge of the tub. Lots of noise with fishermen and cars in the parking lot. Would […] not stay there again. Devamı

The folks at the front desk were just as pleasant and helpful as can be. Unfortunately, my room had a distinct, if undefinable, musty smell. The bathroom and sink area seemed clean and the bed was comfortable. Its location was very convenient to the Capitol area and the river/Fort Pierre. We spent 2 nights at the Govenor's Inn. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They gave helpful suggestions on places to visit, and directions on how to get there. It was very clean, and there was always fresh coffee, lemonade and homemade ice tea. They also would make fresh, homebaked cookies for the guest. They really know how to make you feel […] comfortable. In the rooms, they provided a binder with information about the area, and also info regarding local restaurants. They provide a tasty breakfast: with a variety to choose from: hot cereal, cold cereal, fresh waffles, boiled eggs, biscuits and gravy, bagels, muffins, toast. I would highly recommend this hotel, you get alot for the price. Devamı

The inn was clean and safe and easy to find. While it was nothing special it was a good place to stay while passing through town. There was a lot of information on hunting and fishing available in the lobby but we didn't try to take advantage of those offerings. We arrived late and stayed for breakfast, but cold drinks were on offer in reception, and tehree was a small shop for any needs. Breakfast was in a windowed room, light and airy and the lady in charge was lovely. Internet available as were children's toys and there were books and jigsaws in the same room. The whole place had a family feel to it. everywhere […] else we'd stayed on the trip had been somewhere corporate and slightly sterile. This was more unique, and we woul ddefinitely use the Governprs Inn again. Devamı

The mattresses were in definite need of replacement. We turned on the air conditioner and alot of dirt and whatever blew out onto the floor. Overall, I thought for the amount I paid it was over priced.

My family has stayed at this hotel many times, this was our first time there and I would definitly stay there again. Clean affordable and great breakfast in the morning.
