Best Western Hotel Ala - Venedik

The staff was very kind and helpful. The room was small but comfortable. And the breakfast was very good. The service is perfect. I would recommend this hotel for anyone.

Excellent staff, very helpful and unassuming. Bedroom very clean, comfortable and quiet. Ours was a bigger room (with extra bed) on the canal side which was the luck of the draw. Other rooms seemed smaller but this is common in Venice hotels unless you pay a premium. Lovely breakfast room, fantastic bar (albeit at the more expensive end), close to St […] Mark's Square but just far enough away to avoid the worst of the crowds. Our fifth time in Venice and would definitely stay at this hotel next time unless something very special turned up. Devamı

Great location, easy to find, short walk to San Marco and Rialto. Very clean with an absolutely fabulous breakfast including eggs, meats, cereal, yogurt, fruit and pastries. An extraordinarily friendly staff with excellent english skills were very helpful with directions. A fabulous hotel in a great location, just a straight 2 minute walk from Giglio Vaperetto stop brings you to the front door of the hotel. Less than a 10 minute walk to St. Marks Square. Staff were very friendly and helpfull, breakfast was excellant, they even gave us a packed one to go as we were leaving at 6am. Our stay in the Hotel Ala was very enjoyable. The staff was helpful and courteous and the location was convenient to St. Marc's and everything else. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, a very nice way to get the day off and running.

The good: great location within short walking distance of the Square and Vaporetto stop. EXCELLENT breakfast buffet with a generous selection of items, cheeses, meats, fruits, delicious cakes, tarts, etc. FREE internet access on the hotel's computer in the lobby, and good housekeeping service (they found a shirt left behind and brought it to the area […] where we had our luggage stored, nicely folded). BAD: the beds are a little hard by American hotel bed standards, but totally normal for Europe. All in all, a good value for money to be near the center of Venice, and a delightful breakfast that would be very expensive to have elsewhere in Venice. Devamı

Small rooms and impersonal staff. Excellent location; having stayed here over five times, but still provide only plastic cups in the room. No longer up to quality standards I would expect at this price.

The room for three people was small. Three single beds were squeezed in and there was little room for luggage. Other than that the hotel was very nice. It was close to a waterbus stop and near shopping and restaurants. The breakfast was good. The rate for our last night was about 100 euros more than the first two because of the start of Carnival.

We had a fantastic weekend in venice for my wifes 40th birthday and the hotel Ala was the right choice of hotel for the location and the accommidation was very good and the breakfast was very nice.I would recommend this Hotel for its quality and central location.,and we would use this hotel if we revisit Venice in the future.

Very convenient location from the vaporetto stop. The reception staff helps us with our bags up to our room. Recommended some really good local restaurants! Would stay again! The breakfast spread is great! It's a pity we only stayed for 1 night.

Great place, great location, PHENOMENAL service. Close to everything (near vaporetto stop and 30 minute walk to train station). HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

This hotel is very conveniently located right in the centre of Venice. Good walking dsitance to all areas. We had a very good sized room with a balcony looking out onto one of the smaller canals.Great restaurants in the close area too.

The Hotel Ala is located just a few minutes from Piazza San Marco, down a street lined with designer shops. Access to the airport and the train station were very easy, as there is a vaporetto stop just 50 yards from the front door (and no bridges in between). The hotel concierge was great help with booking reservations, and for directions. They were courteous, and friendly. The location of the hotel was great, only 5 minutes walk from Piazza San Marco. They continental breakfast was the best we had the entire time we were in Italy, and we stayed at four other hotels.

What a wonderful place to stay, we would stay there again. The breakfast was excellent. Great location!

Great location, one minute walk from the water taxi stop. Very friendly helpful staff. No lift so you do need to carry your bag up one flight of stairs. Large room. Dodgey shower but otherwise great. If you ask to go to Murano to see the glass the hotel staff will book you a free water taxi to take you. You then get taken to glassworks and watch them […] blowing glass. Of course they then take you to the showroom and show you massively overpriced glassworks e.g. 300euros for one tumbler. But just say no thanks and you are on your way again. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised! For a 3 star rated hotel it was exceptional. Breakfast was absolutely amazing...5 types of cold cuts & cheeses, cereal, fresh buns, fresh fruit, coffee, juices, milk, yogurt and so much more! We certainly weren't expecting such a variety and so beautifully displayed. It's only 50 metres from the closest vaporetto […] (water bus) station which was convenient. We stayed here one night and it worked well for us. Good location and easy to reach using public transit boat taxi - just take route 1 from train station and get off at Giglio stop. Walk out from the peer along a narrrow street and there it is. Friendly staff, firm beds, typical breakfast.

Nice hotel. Close location to key sites and easy access off the public transportation. Smallish room but easily overcome by the location. Good service, good morning breakfast buffet. Best of both worlds....old world charm and modern convienence.

The water taxi stops about 100 yards from the hotel which made it great to get to and from the hotel with luggage.

The positives: great location near San Marco piazza, while not right on top of it. Amazingly easy to get to from the water bus stop, literally a straight walk of about a hundred feet down the alleyway into the small campo and there it was. And it was charming to have gondolas passing down the canal directly beneath our window. Downsides: the bathroom […] in our room had a musty/moldy smell which they tried to cover up each day with a different air disinfectant...the staff was somewhat standoffish (and we're very easy and understanding travelers)...and the breakfast set-up was very, well, Best Western (I've seen most of the food selection and the same juice machine in every Best Western I've stayed in in the USA, a different set-up would have been nice considering we wanted the atmosphere of being abroad, and had just come from from Bologna where the hotel was excellent in every regard). I have stayed at Hotel Ala several times. I'm always pleased with the charm of the hotel (old armor & other antiques, comfortable room.) The staff is professional and able to assist in any request. The location is excellent... it's close to Piazza San Marco, Academia bridge, La Fenice are all within 5 to 10 minutes. This was really nice and so convenient for us traveling with two 80 year old women. The hotel is convenient to most everything. And the BEST is that the water taxi pullsright up to the outside of the hotel. No pulling the luggage up and down the bridges. The breakfast was also very good and great selections.

hotel was right in the heart of venice, very easy to find and breakfast was fantastic. easy canal for boat taxi pick up. small but adequeate rooms overall enjoyable and nice place to stay

Great relief to find hotel just at the end of the alleyway after hauling heavy suitcases off and on water bus. Our room was right at the top of the hotel, very cute but you had to watch you didn't bump your head on the sloping roof. Hotel very handy for water bus and to St Marks square. However breakfast staff could do with some lessons in customer […] service and learn how to greet and smile at guests. None of them looked like they enjoyed their job. This hotel is perfect! Great location with the square being a 5 minute walk, a traghetto stop outside the hotel (gondala ferry), 5 minute walk to the ferry stop to go to the airport. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was lovely! The area was very quiet but within a few minutes of the hustle and bustle. Location,location,location, is just 50 mts away of vaporetto station, we arrived near midnight and was very easy to locate, check in was a breeze and overall service and facilities are great, no complaint at all,highly recommended

Perfect Location, Gorgeous Room, Attentive and Friendly Staff, Super-equipped bathrooms with jacuzzi in both Tub and Shower!!! We were very impressed, and sorry we couldn't stay there for more than one night as we had to catch a plane.

Arrived early and the room was ready which was great as we could have a rest after the early start and still see some of beautiful Venice. We had a delux room and paid in good time so got a good deal and was well worth it, the only downside was the bathroom was more of a wet room and we talked to other guests and they felt the same. We did see a few […] of the standard rooms and they were small but they had very good standard of furnishings in the room and would be ok if not going to spend too much time in the room. The Ala Hotel is a very good place to stay on a short break and the American bar which is attached is an added bonus as during October it is generally quiet at night. The breakfast is one of the best for a 3 star hotel and to have it served until 10:45am is a very comfortable start to the day. Again a good location and very easy to find after getting the Vaparreto water bus from the airport and just a short walk from San Marco. I would have no hesitation booking this hotel again and will recommend to friends who choose to travel to see Venice. Devamı

This was a very good hotel in the middle of Venice. Although it was a little expensive it was worth the money, specially after completing our trip and knowing other hotels in Italy. The staff was very accomodating and helpful with useful suggestions. Location is just perfect, just 5 minutes form St Marks and 5 minutes from Academia. The bathroom was […] nice with a bathtub/shower. Internet was only 2 Euros for the whole stay which I found very reasonable. The elevator is very small but we found out that small elevators in Italy is the norm. They have a very nice bar and a very nice lobby area. This was the cheapest hotel we stayed in during our three week vacation through Europe and I thought it was great value for money. Hotel is convenient to the main tourist area, well maintained and has very helpful staff. If we ever go back to Venice we would stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel for one night and weren't expecting much because of the cheaper price, but this hotel was awesome. We took a private water taxi from the airport to the giglio stop for 100 euros. The driver dropped us off at the giglio stop, which was literally a flat 50 yard walk to the hotel in an alley (not sketchy, plenty of people) that […] wasn't more than 6 feet wide. The rooms are okay, nothing to write home about, but was fine. The location was PERFECT. Just a short 5 minute walk to Saint Mark's square, but away from the hustle and bustle of all tourists. Trust me, you don't want to be right near St. Mark's. The hotel gave us a 10% off coupon to ristorante da raffaelle, which had great food and a wonderful setting right on a small canal. It is literally one bridge away from the hotel. I would recommend this to anyone because there aren't lots of restaurants with settings like this. And the breakfast was AMAZING. Scrambled eggs were to die for. I read this in a review before and it was true. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who doesn't mind being in a little bit of a smaller room. Perfect for Venice. Best thing about this hotel is it's location. It was easy to find, a short distance from Piazza San Marco, the Guggenheim Museum & the vaporetti stops. The room was small, but clean & quiet. They offer a substantial breakfast buffet. Hopefully, we will have the opportunity to return.

The Hotel Ala is in a great location. It is a 30sec walk from the Vapretto stop. We booked 1 night in a standard room, We had an early morning flight so arrived at 10am the service was efficent but not overly friendly. We left our bags and went off to explore before returning in the afternoon to check into our room. Our room was on the 4th floor, it […] was large, clean and tidy however the windows were high and looked out on roofs. The bed was very hard and the pillows were like sleeping on bricks but otherwise it was everything we needed as we were only in our room to sleep. Mycket fina rum, vi hade bokat fyra de luxe rum som alla var till belåtenhet. Alla rummen var mot kanalen. Matkaa oli n. 30m vaporetolta (linja 1, pysäkki Giglio), joten matkalaukkujen kanssa pääsi hikoilematta perille. Mitä nyt vaporetossa oli vähän ahdasta, mutta ahtauteen on Venetsiassa vaan totuttava. Mi habitacion no quedaba ubicada en un lugar muy practico, pues debia dar algunas vueltas y subir un piso por escalera hasta el ascensor. Sugiero reservar habitacion cerca del ascensor o planta Baja. Sin embargo, fue un detalle infimo comparado con la Excelente atencion y predisposicion de todo el personal. Sobre todo el de la recepcion en cualquier […] turno. très bon rapport qualité/prix, à 2 minutes à pied d'un arrêt vaporetto, à 5 minutes à pied de la place St Marc, personnel très chaleureux, petit-déjeuner très fourni, rien à redire. Je le recommande très vivement. J'y retournerai. L'église juste à côté n'a pas fait sonner les cloches avant 7h30 du matin, et ça j'ai apprécié.
