Strong mildew smell in washroom. I stayed in room 124. Holes in the shades. I think they should be motel status.

Hotel was in a great location, but rooms were a lot more run down than expected. Our air conditioning broke and it was miserably hot in our room. The front desk told us they would take a look at it...and at 4am told us it was fixed and it was not. My friends and I stayed up all night because the heat was unbearable. I was disappointed that the hotel is NOT on the beach side of Collins Avenue (I should have done my research). Also the rooms were very tiny and white. All it needed was a straight jacket and we could have made a Jack Nicholson movie. Some pretty shady ladies were hanging around the hotel posting up next you and making small talk; which in my younger […] days might have been fun, but for a married guy served as a source of anxiety. Staff not the best, requested quiet room so we were given room directly above bar, opposite elevator, on the street.......! Hotel is actually 3 separate buildings, can't put restaurant bills on room, need to pay cash. Good location though, suitable for partying.

If you like to ride bikes they do have free rentals included with your stay. The happy hour is nice and it is also complimentary. The valet parking is expensive. $25 per day to use the valet and the resort fee is $15 per day as well. You need to consider these charges, when budgeting for this hotel. Staff is awesome!! The DJ in Maxines is the best DJ I've heard in a LONG time!! The room was awesome!! I will be staying at Catalina my next trip to Miami!!!

not a good experience. bad service, rooms very run down, could hear everything going on in other rooms and bar. I suggest that you spend more money and go across the street, it will be money well spent

I had to wait over 35 minutes for the hotel to recieve and process my reservation! I watched at 20 people check in without a problem! Besides that my experience was great! I really enjoyed my stay at the Catalina hotel!

We booked through hotels.com and were only staying one night. The staff put us in the LOUDEST room ever, literally we were screaming to hear eachother. Also when we walked into the room there was garbage in the toilet and the trash hadn't been taken out. When I called the front desk they told me they were totally booked and couldn't move us, so I looked […] up to see if I could book a room on their website (where it appeared there were many openings.) I actually heard the front desk whisper to one another not to move us because we were only staying one night. I don't expect much, but this was a pretty ridiculous experience. Devamı

We have to thank the exceptionally courteous staff at the Catalina Beach Club-- especially Juan who upgraded us to a nicer room in a quieter building---- the Catalina Hotel and Beach Club is actually 3 buildings, all with street front bar/restaurants - live music, comfy seating-- a lot of fun-- the middle building is where the music/free happy hour […] is and it is definitely a younger crowd (my friend and I middle aged!)-- but the north building proved to be way quieter and it was a pleasantly decorated place, great room with very comfortable king bed, and pull out sleeper sofa (not so comfortable, but handy) Also, 2 pretty pools-- we thought the bar at Maxine's Bistro, one of hotel restaurants, had best mojito in town----For the price this was a great deal and short block from beach with beach chairs inc (chair and umbrella rentals $ if hotel doesn't include-- good to know as South Beach isn't cheap- lots of hidden costs it seemed)-- at any rate, this is close enough to the bars and restaurants on Ocean Drive-- like 5 blocks down and one block over-- would stay here again! I chose the Catalina based off of pictures and decent reviews. When I arrived I found that the hotel was spread over three older hotels and most of them needed updates. Their restaurants were better than their hotel service. The check in was frantic and the night we stayed our neighbors were fighting so loudly that the cops were called. They sent me to a sister hotel due to over booking over 20 blocks away. The valet parking takes 30 minutes to bring your car. They wanted to charge me $60 to switch to a double bed room vs king. The only thing exciting was the Rooft Top Pool and Bar.

We stayed in the Dorset , the southern most of the three hotels under the Catalina group . Room was lovely but quite loud as it was looking out over Collins.. Service was her really very slow but the staff were friendly enough. The highlight was the cabana around the pool surrounded by huge bamboos in Maxine's. would stay again.

I have stayed here twice now. I would have to say for the price the value of what you get can not be compared. They have free airport shuttle, free drinks from 7-8 and free wi fi. The location is within walking distance to everything. The Ritz and Delano is just across the street The beach is also across the street and they do have have beach area at […] the beach. We found all the staff to be very nice and and right there when ever we needed something. for $200 more a night we could have and considered staying at the Ritz but did not see the value in that. If you are looking to be in the heart of all the restuarants, beach, shopping and still on a budget I would recommend this place. I have no problem in paying luxury and top of the line if i see the value. Here I just did not see staying accross the street to worth an added $1200 to the trip. How i determined that is by also considering if i had to pay for wi fi, taxi, difference in drink prices at the pool etc. the differnce would have been about $1200.00 for 4 nights. Also note there is a difference in rooms You will want to stay in the D rooms the hallways in Maxines are dirty so if you can overlook look the hallways in the Maxine building for the savings you should enjoy your stay. I stayed at this hotel during spring break with friends. We enjoyed our stay here although we didn't have very much light in our room. I also requested a 2 double bed room and when we got to the hotel our rooms weren't ready and we were told the rooms are first come first serve so therefore we got stuck with a King size bed room. Tyrell is the concierge […] & he was a HUGE help during our stay at the Catalina hotel. The bartenders were amazing and made us feel very welcomed. But the staff in charge of checking in and out were very rude and didn't explain the fee's and deposits proper way. She never apologized for the confusion and lack of communication during our stay which made us feel very uncomfortable. This hotel should be considered for adults only since there is a live 24hr DJ on the main level and is directly on the strip of Miami. I was kind of uncomfortable sitting at the bar at 2am while watching children ran around in the lounge area, or going for a late night swim while children were steady splashing water towards our way. For the extraordinary amount of money I paid to stay at the Catalina Beach Club I was highly unimpressed. It was dirty, loud, and the smallest hotel I've ever stayed in. They overbooked the hotel during our stay and the rooms looked like hostels. When we'd try to call to the front desk for service, no one would answer. Our room was never cleaned and […] our room keys would randomly stop working, locking us out of our room. Over the two days we were there, we had to get FOUR new sets of keys just to get in our room. Rooms were verry old but in top conditions . We were put in the front room number 100 not a good location bar in the hotel lobby verry noisy people partying outside another bar with different music after a while like at 2 am got used to the noise and finaly fell asleep . The valet guys were verry friendly and and helpfull . The front desk could use […] some costimer sevice lessons straight faces to when we checked in to when we checked out in the morning . There weren't much linen for two people...and the shower was horrible scalding hot, water pressure poor, placement of the shower head poor, and no wash clothes in room upon arrival. Location excellent outside room decor ok..good enough for a short stay.

Overall this is regular South Beach art-deco boutique hotel and don't expect something special. Good thing - there are two swimming pools. The bad one - our room was very close to the lobby where there was noisy live-band and the same noisy people. So, just ask to give you a room somewhere further and enjoy awesome location

The Catalina hotel was terrific for what most of us need. Really friendly staff, three restaurants at your doorstep (part of the hotel property) with delicious food and great location close to the beach and Ocean Drive. But we were most impressed by the staff. Friendly, helpful and sincere. We had a clogged drain at one point which as soon as we had […] mentioned was addressed with again friendly staff. The beds are wonderful and the room was clean. So the only issues would be that in one area of the hotel there is a rooftop lounge and the music could be heard in the room. The only other small issue was the people above us must have had heels on and you could hear every step rather loudly. But that was just one night and this is nit-picking. This place is terrific!!! We had a great experience staying at the Catalina hotel,we only booked one night because we were going on a cruise the next day. I thought we could get another hotel in the same area after the cruise with the same value and atmosphere but was I wrong!. I called around everywhere after the cruise ,there was nothing available anywhere! In south beach […] ,but if you were willing to pay 400.00 a night there was availability in the area,if you are looking for great value and a great atmosphere book at the Catalina! There is also a free shuttle from the airport that picks up every hour,they have a dj every night and a happy hour drink promo starting at seven pm to eight pm. Devamı

I stayed at The Catalina on Friday night and it was great. My room was close to the lobby yet I did not hear any noise at night. The bar was fun and the food was great. I am looking forward to my next stay. C Cooper

Really loved this place. Centrally located and classy. I'm told some rooms have problems with noise. Ours did not so you may want to request one that isn't located above a night club. Within walking distance to everywhere you really need or want to go in the area.

Hotel and staff were very friendly and hotel was clean. Price did not include $35 / day valet parking. In this neighbourhood, valet is only way to go. This area around Lincoln Road Mall is VERY convenient, but there are LOTS and LOTS of hotels. REally look around. the hotel was not as nice as the photos, overpriced for what it offered. They were supposed to have a free shuttle to the airport, but the shuttle didnot show up and I ended up taking a taxi and shelling out $40 that I didnot have on me, had to make the taxi stop at an ATM and he charged more for that. the Hotel is just adequate, has the basics but […] nothing more, it should be much cheaper for the level of service and maintenance provided. the location is good however. While this hotel seemed like a relatively good value given the location, the experience generally was disappointing. The bed was comfy, the television worked, but the check-in service was slow and the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. There were large patches of mildew under the sink, a broken bathroom tissue holder (and no bathroom tissue to be found […] in the room at check-in), moldy and loose tiles in the shower.
