Latham Hotel Georgetown - Washington

I stayed for one evening while I was going to a meeting at Georgetown University. I was, quite honestly, apprehensive because other reviews of the hotel were so negative. The only reason to stay here would be the fabulous location. It's in the heart of Georgetown and within walking distance to the metro and several bus routes running right by. The room looked like it was a roadside motel and didn't smell that great, but I did enjoy my stay despite the need for renovations. Plus the elevators are probably the slowest […] ever. I did ask the front desk if I could move rooms but they said they would get back to me and never did. Devamı

This is the third attempt at staying with the Latham. The first instance in 2006 I recall the elevators being slow, the staff not particularly up to speed and the rooms just dirty and dreadful. The second attempt (unsuccessful) was in 2008 when they overbooked the hotel and tried to force my party of 4 rooms to move to a sister property. No thank you--not […] even an advance call with a warning. This my third attempt and nothing had changed. I had a room which was filthy, the elevators still barely worked and the door would not close fully so that I slept with an open door. Never again. Devamı

we got into our room fairly late into the evening and the A/C did not work. it was repaired in a reasonable time 15 minutes. the parking guys were very good.

The location was the best thing with the hotel. Never been to DC before and staying in Georgetown was the best since you have everything there in a really nice environment. The hotel looks really great on the outside but the further inside you come - the grade goes down but it was ok for one night. The staff wasn´t to service minded either. Use them frequently. Some staff is not very helpful, but the overnight front desk man is the best!

Hotel is attractive and the personnel are very pleasant. The location is convenient, right in Georgetown and a block from the Circulator bus. It is above Citronelle, which is supposedly the best restaurant in DC; we didn't eat there, however, because it was too expensive.

Excellent location and great service. Rooms are small and a bit dated but value and location make this hotel a great deal

The hotel fits right into the Georgetown surroundings. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The mattress was of reasonable firmness - not too soft, and definitely not too hard. The hotel seems to have gone in for a right choice that optimally accomodates the varied expectations. I stayed for three nights and when I reserved the room, I requested a refrigerator. At no time was I informed that there would be a $10 fee per night. I only learned this upon check-out. Additionally, I asked the door man to mail a postcard to my daughter and never mailed it as she never received it. Additionally, I found a $7 charge on my credit card […] that I later learned was for a bottle of water I never had. They graciously took this charge off but not the $30 for the refrigerator. Devamı

The title says it all. Great location but very noisy, rooms super small and not updated in many years. This hotel is very convenient to an office I regularly vist, but it is not worth it.

This is a great hotel, in a great location with a nice room for a big-city hotel and good food. Only suggestion is that they add more staff to answer the phone when you call and to help w/check-in/check-out. Otherwise, strong recommendation.

Hotel is in a perfect locstion. However was given a subterrarean room.....lobby is in 4th floor our room was underground on level 3. Had mold on walls. No windows in room. On same level as restaurant. There was a huge gap under the front door. Was worried room would have roaches but THANKFULLY it didnt! All tile floors outside of room...we could hear […] people who likely worked at restaurant walking around all night. Room was clean but mold freaked me out. Location is great. Wouldnt stay again. This hotel is usually brimming with life, but had the doldrums in February -- thinly staffed, not friendly, old, tired rooms -- but great location.

This is a quaint hotel which is on the main street of Georgetown. La Madeline french pastry shop which has a fabulous breakfast and lunch is right next door. For the price and location, I will be staying at this hotel again while I am up in Georgetown.

Great location, but rooms are old, mattress was in very poor condition and room door looks at you from the bed, which means light shining on you all night. Staff was nice.

Nice hotel in a great area. Surprised they don't have flat screen TV's, but overall comfort of room was fine.

The service at the Latham was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice, but a little old and out-dated. The beds were very comfortable. It was a very quiet setting. Also a great location, centrally located in the heart of Georgetown.

In the heart of Georgetown, conveniently located for walking to WBG offices and then in the evening restaurants etc.

Very pleased with the hotel and the restaurant is 5 stars. Dining there is a must.

Great location! Rooms need to be redone, and a few more guest comforts are needed (see suggestions) but I would go back.

Great location, but unfortunately we had no hot water in the room for the first two days.

The Latham was a great hotel - loved the location in Georgetown. It was convenient to shopping and buses ran right by taking you downtown. There is a great bakery right outside the door too. The TVs need to be upgraded though.

The Latham Hotel sports a prime location in Georgetown - right on M Street - which makes it convenient but also a little noisy (ask for a room away from the M and 30th streets sides if you value quiet at night). It's probably been a little while since the hotel was updated but the rooms are generally comfortable and include contemporary features like […] large flat screen tv's. Room rates are all over the map but we got a great rate via a last minute booking on hotels.com; someone else in my party did okay too with a '14-day advance purchase' option. Devamı

Rooms need a makeover but the location is excellent and the price was right. Staff was very helpful. Wonderful french coffee shop out the front door for breakfast. We would stay here again

Latham Hotel Georgetown, i really enjoyed the Hotel the Staff was very helfpful with questions, etc. It is in a great location, all the conveniences of shopping, restaurants, and nice jog along the river was great. Would visit again. thank you

The parking fee plus tax is excessive. There are public parking garages nearby—and if I had the time I would love to check all their overnight fees. I bet there is a less expensive solution.

Great Location, but its definitely old and a bit run down. Not a great room, old TV that didn't work, very thin walls. Overall would not recommend this place.

The Latham is an older but quaint small hotel on M Street. Although the room was quite comfortable, it was literally under ground with no windows and very small televisions with poor sound quality. In addition, the room had a distinct food smell in the morning.The free wifi in the room was adequate for business applications.
