Omni Charlotte Hotel - Charlotte

We just stayed here on a Friday night due to the proximity of this hotel to the Knight theatre. The location was indeed great, plenty to do, maybe a 5 minute easy walk to the theatre. The service was also great overall, except it took some time to get my bags and then they tried to deliver the wrong ones initially. They returned within 5 minutes with […] the correct bags though. The front desk and check in was very quick and the desk clerk was very professional and helpful. The room, bed and bath were very comfortable, no issues. I called the operator in the morning because I needed some hygiene products and they delivered them free of charge within 10 minutes to my room. There was a 10 dollar parking fee for the garage and another 10 dollar internet fee to use the wireless in the room, but I did know this prior to booking. I would make this a 5 star review if it weren't for this though. It seems for some reason that a lot of upscale hotels nickel and dime you for stuff that less expensive hotels include in with the room price, so this complaint is not specific to the Omni, I don't think. Only problem was that the beds were not very comfortable.

Overall, I have to say I was satisfied with the Omni. I read some of the other reviews prior to booking the my stay and I have some of the same concerns. The two primary issues that I had were the size of the bathroom and the bed. In my opinion, a hotel such as the Omni should equip it's rooms with a bathroom that can accomodate 2 people comfortably. […] My wife and I found the bathroom to be extremely small. The biggest problem we had was the bed! I hope this was not the case in everyone's room....our bed was very hard and very uncomfortable to sleep on. My wife actually spent one night asleep in the chair with a blanket draped over here because she found it more comfortable than our bed. Aside from that our stay was plesant. We were in town for a RedSkins game. The staff was very polite and helpful. Our room was very clean and well kept and the distance from the hotel to Bank of America stadium was excellent. The breakfast in the Trade resturant was fairly pricey at $19 for the buffet. It was very good...however that is still too expensive. Devamı

My wife and I stay this hotel for one night and it was very nice. This hotel is very clean and close by to all the night life at Epic Center. Its also nice to have a bar in the Lobby where you can enjoy a few drinks without a lot of noise before going out.

The hotel was very nice, however when I arrived to check in I was told that they had overbooked the hotel and that the room that I had reserved (1 King Bed) was going to instead be (2 double beds). This made my experience very unsatisfactory. The trip was meant as a special occassion for my companion and I, the room change really soured the start to […] our trip. Devamı

Me and a friend really enjoyed staying at the hotel. The service at the hotel was outstanding and surrounding area was great for walking and eating food.

Only 10 minutes from the airport, this place is convenient for in and out work trips. And, there is a Starbucks in the building (on the way to the parking garage), along with a small convenience store and restaurants on-site and nearby. Clean and reasonably priced.

Great hotel for a weekend stay. Very convenient to great restaurants and was very easy to find for someone who was from out of state. Room was awesome. Would definitely stay again.

Overall the stay was very pleasant. The staff were courteous, and the hotel was beautiful. The only complaints I had at all: there was a stage set up for a live concert directly behind the hotel which was very loud, but as the hotel staff informed me, the concert wasn't allowed to continue past their permitted time of 11:00pm. Stayed two nights for a wedding. Very accomodating. Gets a bit loud at night because of music outside. Great location. Will definitely stay here again. The welcoming lobby was a nice gathering area.

The hotel was very nice and in a great spot right downtown and room service take out food was very good. Would definitely stay again.

Great location near Panthers stadium and other venues. Great lobby with nice atmosphere. Room was very nice.

This hotel is perfectly located to downtown. if your business is in one of the main buildings, you can get there without going outside. The in-room breakfast was very good too.

The only thing I did not rate a 5 was the overall service rating due to the number of available elevators. The day I reserved was a day of a huge convention and there were tons of people waiting on an elevator to take people from the lower level garage up to their rooms or to check in, which was a huge inconvenience. A couple of things that stuck out to me during my stay: 1) if you self park then you have to go up one elevator to get to the lobby only to have to get on another elevator to get up to the rooms. Not a good setup. 2) the Internet is AWFUL...do NOT pay for it. 3) there were 2 phones in the room, one of which did not work. 4) if you do stay there, make […] sure you get a room up as high as possible. We were on the 2nd floor facing the Epicenter and all we heard was the noise from buses going to the local bus station around the corner. 5) the bed on the mattress was extra firm, also known as hard. 6) my wife and I requested a King room...we were given a room with 2 doubles. I stayed for an overnight with my wife on our way to Asheville and given the hotel and service I wish we had gotten in a day earlier. Great staff as well especially on the bell desk with Kyle and the lads...very informative and friendly.

The room was comfortable and very clean. I can't stand to see any mold near a bathtub, and this hotel met my expectations! Very nice.

Our curtains were torn in large sections, the sink was stopped up, the bed coverings were lumpy and there were no special touches like a city guide or map of the downtown area. We were highly dissapointed because we had expected a well-appointed room. My wife and I just wanted to get away for the weekend, and I had already had this hotel in mind to see what it was like. I found this to be quite an upscale hotel in the middle of everything. Very affordable, pleasant staff and surroundings of skyscrappers just make it feel as if you were in a BIG city. The only compliant I have is with the pillows. […] I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about there pillows made it feel as if I was suffocating. Good Location. Nice Hotel. Rooftop pool area is enjoyable. I have used this hotel in the past and will continue to use them when I need to be in uptown Charlotte.

The only concern that I had were the elevators. There were at least 5 people waiting on an elevator the entire length of my stay. We took the stairs every time to the point where we had to walk around the building to get to the valet in an effort to save time. Also, the pictures online look a little better than the hotel actually looks.

I ended up having a dead battery in my car when I checked out and the staff was very helpful.

Upon arrival we found that our room was next to the elevator. There was also a very loud family reunion going on down the hall. We requested to be moved from that location to somewhere quieter. We were told that our room had been pre assigned at booking and could not be changed.... Who ever heard of such a thing? She told us the hotel was completely […] booked although there were lines of people trying to check in. I guess their rooms were preassigned at booking also??? She was not helpful at all and had clearly did not care about customer satisfaction. The location is wonderful! Devamı

Though the street was blocked off and it was difficult getting to the hotel for check in, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Everything was wonderful. Looking forward to staying there, or any of the Omni Hotels in the future.

The Omni is in a great location and I was satisfied both in the service and the cleanliness of the room. My disappointment comes mostly in the gap between expectation and reality that this is simply just a hotel as any other. The bed was rather uncomfortable and neither my wife or I were able to sleep well. The staff was pleasant enough although professionally […] distant. I've never been a fan of paying a parking fee for staying on property, but I guess that goes with the territory in a banking town. I left without feeling the "wow" factor that would determine loyalty on future visits. I wouldn't tell anyone to stay away from this hotel, but it's not the top of my list either. This hotel is the most downtown as you can get. If your here to visit the city you can park your car and be within walking distance to hundreds of stores and restaruants. Also, Charlotte has a a fantastic nightlife and this hotel is positioned perfectly in downtown. You can walk 5 mins and be at a good handful of mid to upscale bars. No need for a taxi […] and Charlotte is the safest city I know for nightlife. I'm on R&R leave from Iraq and I worked it out so I would be home for our anniversary. I told them at the desk after getting the reservation on hotels.com that it was our anniversary and they told me they would take care of us. All I needed to do was to tell them when I was going out to dinner at at that time they would bring up Champaign and chocolates to the room. My wife was so surprised! Room service is also amazing. They get their wine from the bar that closes at midnight. I was driving back to the hotel and realized I wouldn't make the deadline if I wanted some wine for that night. I called and room service got the 2 bottles of wine and they delivered it to the room. It was waiting for me when I got there. These are only a few examples of the amazing service I received. The hotel itself is amazing as well. Fantastic views of charlotte. It's as easy as asking for a high floor. I will be back. Thanks Omni! Devamı

The hotel was very nice, and clean! Stayed there on a saturday night, went to the clubs right across the street which was nice. But coming back you could barly make any noise or else they would complain your being to loud. Deffenitly not a spot for younger adults.

Great place to say. Only negative was that you can hear people talking in the hallway from inside the rooms. Hotel security was quick to deal with the situation.

Great hotel! Right in town! I have a couple of family members that have to eat gluten free and this place was within walking distance to FUEL pizza which makes GF pizza!! Awesome!! Nice loaction and great front desk staff! :-)

The location was great and the lobby/barr was very eclectic. However, the elevators were the slowest I have ever encountered. I was only on the 2nd floor and it always took forever. But worse than that, my room STUNK to high heaven. The entire hotel is supposed to be non-smoking, and when I inquired about the smell, which was reaking of stale cigarette […] smoke, I was given the lame excuse, "well you know, some people cheat." With that, I had no confidence that changing rooms would solve the problem, nor did I want to re-pack everything. I was out of the hotel the entire stay except to sleep, so I just lit a fragrant candle and put up with it. Bad choice I know, but I had other priorities. Devamı

I loved staying at the hotel! All the staff was very nice and helpful. We had roomsevice for breakfeast the food was wonderful! They even delivered milk and cookies for my three daughters! They really enjoyed them before bed! I asked for extra towels they brought them right up! Best hotel we ever stayed in.

The Omni is a nice Hotel, but our complaints were that there were no phone books on the property, not everyone travels with a computer, we went to the Nascar race & after the race we got back to the Hotel, yes it was a Sunday Night and the Hotel Bar was closed I am sure many people would of had some drinks after the race. Great place to stay if you need to be downtown.

Stayed in room 220, which is pool level, although the pool closes at 10pm. I had to call front destk twice because of people partying at the pool at 12:30 at nignt. Also had to request room service the next day for cleaning and towels, got up the next morning and maid had not replaced the coffee cups. Comfortable room at reasonable rate. Great location in uptown Charlotte. Noise level from music at street level - room was on 11th floor - was so loud we were unableto hearthe TV. Fortunately, it stopped at 10 PM and we got a good night's sleep. The advertised adjacent mall is somewhat overrated. Just a few shops and numerous eateries. Closed early […] in the evening. Devamı

From the second I arrived, the Omni staff were absolutely the friendliest hotel staff I've ever experienced. I self-parked, and yet the valet staff was more than happy to help me with directions around Charlotte and with information about check-in and other hotel information. There were plenty of staff available, so we didn't have to wait to check in […] or out, and all were extremely helpful and informative. The location was perfect - we didn't need to drive anywhere - and the room was clean and comfortable. This was our first time in Charlotte (we were there for a graduation), and we're considering coming back for vacation there because of our experience there. Great town, great people, great hotel! Went to stay for a wedding in town, they didn't have any king rooms left, but did have doubles and would switch us for the second night, which was fine- staff was extremely nice. Got up to the room, and it was just awful- didn't seem clean, looked very old/tired, and the smell of old cigarette smoke was overpowering. Went down to the lobby again and […] since they didn't have anything else to accommodate us, canceled our reservation with no fees and we stayed at another hotel.
