Taj Campton Place - San Francisco

This is s a great little boutique hotel with a great location, a great restaurant and great service. Regular room is a little small but has everything you need.

I remember the rooms here being cozy so I even upgraded to the "deluxe" king. Room was small and some what of a funky configuration. Otherwise the hotel was great. Bed really comfortable and one of the greatest little bars in San Francisco.

Campton Place has always been one of my very favorite SF hotels. Since Taj took over the ownership it has gotten even better. By the way, the chef is terrific.

This is a very nice hotel, and we would stay there again. We had one of the "California" rooms, which was fairly small, but not unexpected for a big-city hotel. Service was excellent. We were surprised when we checked out that they charged us for the in-room coffee that we made in the coffee maker, but when I asked about that they removed it from the […] bill. This hotel is half a block from Union Square, and near good restaurants and shopping. We had an adequate, but overpriced breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Service was slow. Don't think I'd eat there again, but it wouldn't deter me at all from staying at this hotel. Devamı

Located on Stockton st at the heart of Union Square, it has an excellent location with eateries, boutiques, department stores all within minutes away. Room was small with nothing much to shout about even though it has been named a leading boutique hotel in SF. I had a rude shock with the telephone bill charging US$40 for local and calls to south SF […] amounting to 15 mins of call time, some of the reception staff were also less friendly while the concierge was helpful. Hotel rate was acceptable, I guess I would only stay at this hotel for it's great location and convenience next time in SF. Devamı

Absolutely Flaunt Fabulous Hotel. Try the French Toast for breakfast. Life changing, as the manager mentioned.

My only complaint about this hotel is that internet charges are not included in the price of the room. Although there is a business center this is of no help when you have to access your Outlook remotely from a laptop.

In the heart of everything. Short walk to Chinatown, Union Square, Cable Cars and trams.

This is one of the nicest hotels my wife andI have stayed in. First, the location is a 1/2 city block to Union Square. The facility itself is well cared for,though small as it is a boutique. It is very clean, the rooms are small, with all the comforts one expects when traveling. This had the best pillow I had ever found at any hotel.The only shortcoming […] was the toilet paper holder. It could not hold the paper when in use. However the cleanliness made up for this shortcoming. I agree with most. This is close to 5 star. Devamı

Loved the location, free wi-fi would be nice.

Each year I go to San Francisco to run the Nike Women's Marathon. The hotels in Union Square are all good but I have to say, out of the five years I've gone, Taj Campton wins the best of reward. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly, and the room albeit pricey was right in line with the other hotels for that busy weekend.

OK, but waaaaaay overpriced (even for San Francisco). Tiny rooms, mediocre beds and bedding, no view below 10th floor.

Service was great, we came back after walking around town for hours and the room was turned down and robes were left for us. The robes were so comfy, I wish I would have purchased one!

I think the hotel is understaffed. No concierge on sunday. I was told not to go to the museum on Sunday because of the festival. I purposely asked if the De Young was opened on Monday and she assured me that it was. We spent $30.00 on a cab there only to find out it was closed on Monday. and then had to get a cab back We purchased tickets for Alcatraz […] and were not told to be there one half hour before boarding. The people are nice but totally inexperienced for tourism. The room is the smallest I have ever had at a first rate hote. We paid top dollar and were disappointed in the room with no drawers for putting away underwear. The best thing is your location. That is all Devamı

Lobby is beautiful, staff was friendly and the location is perfect for union square but my room was strangely laid out and very noisy - sandwiched between the housekeeping service room and the elevators and no view - wouldn't go back based on that room.

Our first time staying at Taj Campton Place, it won't be our last!! The staff is soooo friendly . Outstanding service.

This is a great hotel if you want to stay in the heart of Downtown SF and close to Chinatown! The hotel staff was extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. Very clean rooms and very comfortable beds. We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel and definitely plan on returning there for our next trip to the city!

A very nice hotel with a great location and a confortable room. The room service people were very quick to enter a couple of times so make sure you put up the DND or latch the door :)

I did not feel that the sheets were very clean! and crispi as before!. They did NOT change them every day either. The fan in the bad did NOT work, and there is NO open windows, in the rooms, so it is very important! this fan. The bussines center, the computer was Broken, during our stay, they NEVER fixed.

The always excellent Campton Place has only been enhanced under the ownership of the Taj group. Great location, outstanding service and a Michelin rated restaurant. We'll definitely stay there again!

This is nice hotel but it is not a luxury hotel. When I asked about the room they were giving me and whether it had a view the front desk clerk was smug. The two people at the concierge were helpful. There is no docking station for an I-pod which I would expect at a hotel with the rating it has. The room I had was "New York small" and looked at a brick […] wall. Even though I requested late check-out, one cleaning person came into my room without knocking and another asked when I would be leaving. The lobby needs to be updated. This is a convenient, friendly hotel with a nice vibe.

Our stay at Taj Campton Place in San Francisco was great! The hotel room furniture was just a tiny bit worn, but other than that the room was fabulous. The hotel personnel were so gracisou. The hotel is very quiet being on a busy street. My husband and I will definitely be staying again.

The hotel was fine, but it is not especially good value for price. Room was nicely proportioned and furnished, but pretty generic. In other words, much like larger chain hotels (Grand Hyatt, Hilton) but less "worn". Probably the best bed I've ever slept in, though. Big drawback is noise - this hotel has the thinnest walls I've ever experienced. My neighbors […] got up at 4:30 and it was like they were showering and packing in the same room. We stayed over here for our anniversary as its in the Union Square neighborhood. Lot of restaurants and shopping around and the people are very good at the hotel. The concierge was very helpful. We didn't get a chance to eat at the hotel's restaurant but next time..

Beautiful. Delightful staff. Fantastic service and exceptional amenities. Great Location. We stayed at the Taj for New Year's Eve and look forward to our next stay! I am encouraging family and freinds to make up a need to stay overnight in San Francisco so they can stay here. From the friendly door men to the kind housekeeping staff, we found each person […] we encountered friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful with well crafted furniture, great linens and luxury amenities. What a treat to return after a night of dancing to find our beds turned down with slippers at our bed side. We took advantage of the offer to shine our shoes and were delighted with the 'package' outside our door the next morning - right next to the morning paper (New York Times at our request!). Hotel staff was very good but room was not anywhere close to what it should have been for the star rating or price. My room had old carpet with cigarette burns. One phone didn't work at all. The shower head did not work properly. And, inexplicably my AT&T iPhone got no service in the room. I had to to lobby to talk.

The location is great, right next to Union square, shopping, restaurants, museums etc.....

Room is so small you can barely walk around the bed. Shower is very tiny. Bed was too soft. I paid $57.00 for overnite parking and it took them over 40 minutes to bring my car. No need for such "luxury", there are much better hotels in San Francisco for the same price.

Excellent hotel, exquisite accomodations, super clean room. Staff are going overboard to accomodate people especially with the busy New Year they've had. Valey service is excellent, i would highly recommend.

Being an ex-hotelier, this hotel was an excellent example of what service should be all about. With so many hotels in SF the Taj was a very good choice we made to stay in and will surely recommend this property.

A very quiet, classy hotel. The staff was fine although I thought that the concierge on duty one evening was not as informed as I would have liked. The location is excellent, right off of Union Square. I enjoyed the stay very much, would certainly consider going back the next time I am in San Francisco.

We had an excellent stay at the Taj Campton Place in SFO over Christmas. We stayed there for a couple of nights and the weather was quite bad (raining) most of the time. We decided to just relax and order room service. The in-room dining service was excellent and we got pretty much everything we wanted. This was a great hotel and at a great location. The only downside is the mini fridge in the room is already stuffed with the paid sodas & other drinks that there is no space to put your own drink or water.

Good central location. Clean but small rooms. Not a good value for the price. I have stayed at lot of Taj hotels in India but Campton was a disappointment.
