All the staff were particularly helpful, you can print out your boarding cards for free, WiFi is expensive but just over the road is a little cafe with free WiFi and excellent pancakes! Plenty of good eating and shopping places very close. Trams 2 minutes walk, station 8 minutes. All in all a very pleasant holiday experience

The staff were all lovely and the entrance quite grand. The beds were HUGE (i could roll over twice before reaching my boyfriend!) and spacious as well with up to date mod cons and stylish decor.

The hotel was easily accessible from the Amsterdam Central train station (about a 3 minute walk, even when pulling heavy suitcases). The staff was friendly and helpful and allowed me to check in when I arrived at 10AM. The Concierge asked me what I wanted to see and helped me plot out my day of running and walking around the city and it's many museums […] and shopping markets. When I returned later that night, the concierge also helped me find a great Indian restaurant close to the hotel. The hotel breakfast, while a little pricey, was worthwhile - a nice spread with fresh squeezed juices and many offerings. I was happy to have eaten at the hotel, b/c the city was dead quiet until about 9:30/10 AM on Saturday. The room was generous for Europe, my only complaint was the thin walls and doors; I heard everything, at all hours. The maid was a bit over-eager as well... As I showered at about 8 AM on my checkout day, following a morning run, the maid entered the room without knocking. No big deal, more humorous than anything, really. The location of the hotel is ideal - about a 5-15 minute walk from all the major attractions: Anne Frank House, Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Jewish Heritage Museum and Synagogue. Devamı

The hotel is located near to the Central Station. We arrived early in the morning on 1 Jan, took us a little while to figure out where the hotel is cause it is off the main street in a quiet lane. Should not be a problem to find it if it is during the day time. It's walking distance to Ninth Street for shopping, and with lots of restaurants nearby […] to choose from. A block away from Damrak. Walking proximity to major tourist districts. We were travelling to Brussel for a day trip, the central train station is nearby. Hotel staff are helpful, the winter room rate is reasonable. I would recommend the renaissance hotel but I would also warn people. The Internet connection in the room isn't free! Which, nowadays, is kind of unheard. for the price of the room they could have make the effort. The staff of the hotel were very pleasant and helpful. the hotel is beautiful and very comfortable. but a few things about the menus weren't […] very clear. We had a great time over the New Year. The staff were attentive despite being busy and requests were fulfilled promptly. The room was a bit on the smaller side but was very comfortable. Breakfast was also pretty decent. We had a club room that granted access to the club lounge. My only complaint here was that h'ordoevres/snacks in the evening did not […] include dessert. you had to return at 7:30 to have dessert...not convenient especially when it was often late but ended promptly at designated time. The parking lot was full so they recommended a lot a train stop away that was cheap, safe and could easily accommodate our mini van. We could walk easily to sites from where we were, I would definitely recommend this hotel as I thought you got great value for the money. Devamı

Let me preface this by saying this was a great hotel. Location was great, amenities were great. It was modern, comfortable, with great toiletries, well lit and well staffed. Here are some areas for improvement. While my room was overall quite clean, the bedside tables had some water marks from the prior guest, so they obviously had not been cleaned, […] and the door frame to the bathroom had what appeared to be either a dried booger or a smushed bug (not sure which). So a little attention to detail would have been nice on the cleanliness. Another minus -- no free wi-fi. Wi-fi will cost you upwards of approx. $20 a day. Another minus -- no hot plate for water to make tea or coffee in the morning. In this day and age, it seems really ridiculous to me that hotels don't all offer free wi-fi and free hot water and in-room tea/coffee. Makes a huge difference. If they had had that, I would have scored it a 5, booger on the door notwithstanding. Devamı

Stayed at the Renaissance over the holiday season & absolutely loved it! Arriving by train, it was a short walk to the hotel making it convenient for catching the local buses to other sites as well. The staff was so friendly - actually it seemed all Dutch were really nice. The hotel was recently renovated and the rooms are a good size compared to other […] European hotels we've stayed in. Many attractions, restaurants, nightlife & shopping are found in the surrounding area - great location. Would definitely stay here again if I'm ever so lucky to be back in Amsterdam! Devamı

We spent four days in the hotel and we loved it. A short walk from cafes, restaurants and shops. Rooms are nice and small. The Staff was very nice and happy to help

So easy to get train from Airport and walk the 7 minutes to the Renaissance. Discreet entrance for such a big hotel in a quiet cobbled street one minute from the Singel Canal. The immediate neighborhood is Amsterdam in a couple of blocks. A bit of everything, the trash and the sophisticated and charming. Easy walking to Central Station where all the […] trams and boat trips start. Adjacent to the Jordaan area which is fabulous to stroll in, stopping at many of the Brown Bars and Cafes. The Anne Frank Museum is pretty near too. Nowhere is very far. I'd rather stay in this area than any other for a taste of real Amsterdam. Of course if you want clubs and drugs and rock and roll it's not for you. The hotel is modern, efficient, comfortable and cosy in the Winter. Staff lovely and very helpful. It also has it's own bar and brasserie. I really enjoyed my stays once on business and once on holiday. Devamı

Great hotel, central location, staff absolutely fab (always helpful, kind and welcoming). I will definately recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam

Not a 5 star hotel, maximum 4 star business hotel. If you are a couple and want to spend the week-end in Amsterdam, thi is NOT the hotel you are looking for. Continental breakfast nothing special. WiFi charged as an extra: an incredibly primitive policy!

Service in general was very good. Personal were kind and friendly, except for one concierge who seemed annoyed, but the others were great. The location is good if you want to be close to the central station, red light district and where all the turists are, but next time I would rather stay in a nicer area.

the renaissance hotel in the city center met and exceeded our expectations. it was our first time to amsterdam and the location was PERFECT!!...right in the middle of it all. the staff was excellent! they were always eager to help with anything you needed. i would tell all to book this hotel above all others!!

Stayed at the Renaissance August 2011 and we were extremely pleased! Wonderful location- within walking distance to all the major sights. Great hotel staff- very friendly and helpful. Great Hotel and helping people.

Lovely hotel in a very convenient location. Friendly, attentive staff, large, comfortable room... Breakfast overpriced, so go out and eat locally, but very pleased I decided to stay there and will do so again.

The hotel was a convenient location and walking distance to all major attractions. We stayed there for nine nights and enjoyed our trip. The only negative aspect was the hotel made us pay a city fee for about 70 Euros even when our reservation was prepaid through Hotels.com. Our reservation was saying that all taxes were included. 2nd time in this hotel in amsterdam and it was always a great experience.

Room was clean and staff was very accommodating. Ian from housekeeping staff was such a joy. Location was just a 5 minute walk from the train station and visitor center which was very convenient. Would definitely recommend.

We have booked this hotel because of the reviews and location. Arrived on Friday and stayed until Sunday afternoon. The hotel didn't disappoint but there were a few issues we didn't expect from a hotel of this rating. The hotel is in a quiet side street in the middle of the main happenings. Had no problems with noise. The rooms are clean and so is the […] hotel. The decoration is pleasant. The check-in / check-out was smooth and we were welcome to leave our luggage after the Sunday check-out. What surprised us was the poor quality of the bed (very soft, and well worn) and lack of (free) Wi-Fi. Especially in a hotel with conference rooms we did expect available Wi-Fi connection. And finally, the maid knocking on our door sunday morning despite the privacy sign was a little annoying. All in all a good hotel in a very central location. Great hotel, lovely ample sized rooms, well maintained and only 5 mins walk to Dam Square. Close to some very good restaurants. Booked 2 deluxe rooms for 4 of us and emailed the hotel 1 month in advance to request interconnecting rooms, but when we arrived, they could not accommodate our request, despite our disappointment and in fact the rooms weren't […] even together. We were in Amersterdam one day prior to boarding a cruise ship. The concierge was most helpful in recommending and selling us tickets to the Van Gogh Museum so that we didn't have to stand in line, which was 2 blocks long when we arrived on a Sunday morning. Hotel is convenient for walking around, restaurants, sidewalk coffee/beer/wine drinking, and […] night life. We were very pleased. Do make sure the taxi driver lowers his flag so the fee starts, as they are notorious for making up outrageous fees otherwise. Devamı

We stayed in the Renaissance for 3 nights last week and we were all very impressed. The hotel itself was decorated to a high order and the staff were extremely helpful and attentive. Location wise, it was only a 5 minute walk to the main station and close to the red light district and it's unique experience after dark! We'll definately look to stay […] here again next time we visit Amsterdam. Devamı

Husband and I enjoyed our two day stay at this hotel. The staff was helpful, checking in was easy and the room was clean. Close to public transportation and several attractions. The only thing I wish they had was free wi-fi and I would have rated this a 5. Would stay there again.

We stayed at the Renaissance for work for 3 nights. Every level of service was extremely genuine and helpful from bellhop to front desk, to bartender and wait staff. The hotel has an excellent gym and two bars. Our favorite was the older looking one decorated in rich colored wood. My only complaint was that the windows in the rooms were a bit drafty, […] due to a new window installed into an older brick building, but at least they are keeping with upkeep. Overall our favorite stop on the trip, and we would definitely go back! Devamı

The hotel was close walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do. (Dam Square, shopping, museums, Red Light Dist, etc. Used the tram to get around)

Pleasant, efficient staff. Comfortable room, typical Amsterdam size, i.e., not very big. Breakfast a little pricey, but extensive buffet. Walking distance to almost everything. And most remarkably, a passable fitness center: functioning cardio equipment; multi-ex machine; and a decent set of dumbbells.

We had awesome time in this hotel. The room was somewhat small but very comfortable, quiet and clean. Hope to come back. Highly recommended.

The hotel is wonderful, built into the surrounding streets, very comfortable, welcoming and friendly.... The Marriott "Spirit to Serve" is very evident, every member of staff is there for you and always happy to help. Language skills are very good and the staff made every effort to communicate clearly. As with all European Marriotts the clientele […] is varied and interesting, if you get the chance use the Exec Lounge and talk to people. I met a family visiting from the USA and had a great time balancing the necessity of having to work in the day. Devamı

We stayed at the Renaissance hotel from the 9th October to 11th October for my husbands birthday. We loved this hotel as it was close to the centre but quiet enough to get a good nights sleep. When you eventually got in of course. The room was comfortable. The only thing we found that it lacked was a kettle to make yourself tea in the morning.However […] thats not much at all as the room was clean and nice. Devamı

Very friendly staff, couldn't do enough for us. Only a few minutes walk from Central Station.

We adored that we could walk out the front door and get food, drink, or shopping within one block. The hotel is also within a short walk to the tram, which goes to all major tourist destinations. The room was comfortable and the usual "large by European standards / small by U.S. standards" size. The fitness center had towels, water, several aerobic […] machines, yoga mats, free weights, and TV. The one drawback to this location is the wireless Internet charge: It's about $30 (20 Euros) per day. Lucky for us we arrived on a Thursday and left on a Monday, so we only needed the connection for the first 24 hours. Devamı
