We stayed on Crown Plaza. Because there was a strike in Novotel. But they transferred us to the Crown Plaza and we did not pay any more money. Crown plaza was very nice, comfortable and luxury. It has 5 stars. thus, we have comments about Crown Plaza.

Perfect hotel. Friendly and professional management. Clean , good rooms. Nice pool with a nice view on the roof of the hotel. The surrounding is quite scary in the late evenings. Free Wi-Fi is available everywhere but the speed is extremely slow. You have to pay extra for regular high-speed wi-fi.

Poor location in rundown area really lets this fantastic hotel down. But it is just 10 minutes walk from Larissa Metro, and 10 minutes walk from the National Archaeological Museum. The area to avoid from the hotel is the walk down to Omonio Metro, which is frequented by prostitutes and drug addicts. We as a family did actually make this walk at 11 AM […] on Christmas Morning and whilst we didn't see any drug addicts, we did see evidence of their being there, and unfortunately the prostitutes were already out on the streets. Whilst we did not feel threatened at all, it was not a comfortable experience for my wife and children. Either take a taxi, (approximately 5 Euro) from the hotel or walk down to Larisssa Metro if you want to travel around the city, the walk down to Larissa is no problem at all. The hotel is fantastic, clean, modern, and with good facilities, and the breakfast is worth including in your room. We found the hotel rather warm as they had switched off the AC for the winter, but the staff went out of their way to find us a cooler room, ending up with us being upgraded to a suite (we were there for 12 days!). We cannot praise the staff enough, from the reception, through chamber maids, restaurants staff, they all go the extra mile to provide a fantastically welcoming and comfortable stay. Devamı

This is a great, comfortable, modern choice in Athens. It is a little out of the way and the surrounding area is a little sketchy but the hotel, the rooftop pool and the view are priceless. Plus the subway is only a five min walk away and easy to navigate your way to the sights. It is about an hours tube ride from the airport. We would stay here again […] 100% Devamı

There is actually nothing really wrong with this hotel (a few minor bits of repair work would be nice, touch-ups really) and the majority of the staff were pleasant and helpful. However, food and drinks were very expensive and this was exacerbated by the fact that it was not easy or cheap to get to a better part fo the city to eat and drink - there […] was nowhere nearby and I would not have felt safe walking out in the area at night unless in a group of people. Further to above the hotel is situated in a horrible area that felt extremely unsafe, especially at night, and even though the hotel itself was pleasant enough I woud not stay there again. To confirm my thoughts, on the 2 nights we did go out by taxi, on both occasions, the taxi drivers put up the windows and locked the doors in the immediate vicinity of the hotel (from a couple of streets away) telling us that it was a very bad area. However, once in the hotel, you would not know you were in such an awful area apart from looking out of your hotel window. We ate at the hotel a couple of times (evening and daytime) and the food was good but as I said earlier (especially the feeling of being confined due to the area) it was far too expensive. Devamı

Hotel was very easy to get to and offered free parking in a garage which was nice. We only stayed one night at this hotel and for this limited time the hotel was fone. Very clean, decent location (close to subway which could get you anywhere you wanted to go). THe only minus was the outrages prices at the pool bar.

great hotel close to all the main sites the hotel has bar and swimming pool on the top floor that you can see a 360 view of the city the rooms are clean and nice and have a out side sitting area with each room and are very roomy

I enjoyed the hotel! Very nice, very clean, and close to the metro. Delicious Food! Great pool (the lounge chairs fill up quickly in the afternoon). The only problem I had was with the neighborhood. It was very run down and desolate... mostly because of the crisis. I was told by a local that a couple years back the area was filled with nice hotels and […] shops, which are all closed now. The hotel location was not in the "nicest" neighborhood, nevertheless,the hotel was one of the nicest, cleanest, and largest rooms in European cities I've been to. Hotel was in close proximity of two metro stations and the staff of airport was very helpful in giving us directions to get to hotel by metro, where to change and get out. The facilities are all there for this to be a great hotel but something was lacking. We arrived late and checked into our room which was a smoking room and we had requested non smoking. It smelt to bad so we asked to change rooms which was fine. In the next room there was no remote for the tv and it could not be operated by the buttons on the tv itself. […] Shower was barely a dribble. However the pool area on the roof was great but after having our dinner (in the hotel which was very good) we wanted to go up to the pool area to see the acropolis lit up at night but it was locked which was dissapointing. The free internet stations in the lobby were very useful. Staff were ok not that outgoing but answered all our questions well enough. No problem with hotel itself but the location is very serious and dangerous area. We were assualted and suffered serious injuries. We had to cut short our holiday and go back home. It is a great hotel in a wrong area. Staff are great and helpful and they will do their best to make you feel home and comfortable.

Overall it is a very nice hotel. The staff are helpful. The roof bar was amazing, just a shame that it does not open until June. Nonetheless we were allowed to use it and bring our own drinks. I was disapointed with the storage space in the room. If you are planning on staying for longer than a couple of nights and like to carry a full suitcase you […] will have difficulties storing your clothes. The breakfast was really good so it is worth paying a little bit extra for it. The area is ok, I had read a lot of comments from people saying how bad it was so I was a bit sceptic, however having been there I now totally disagree with those comments. It might not be the best area in Athens but we walked from the underground station to the hotel every night and I never felt unsafe. As a frequent traveller I was very disappointed with the poor standard of the room at Novotel, Athens. It was not even close to a 3 star rating. Overall the room was run down and after having reqested a non smoking room, specially as I was on holiday with my family, I was given a very offensive smelling "smokers room". TV was faulty. Minifridge did […] not work. carpets were VERY dirty. Pillows were absolutely horrible. Bed linen was not up to the minimum expected standard. Had to make my coffee in the virtuallly flexible plastic cups. No spoons. Tea / coffee was not replaced daily, unless requested. When I asked if I could take a quick snack and a drink very early in the morning, it was not clearly stated that this was extra, so I ended up paying 14 euros for a 3 minute breakfast. Otherwise the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

One of the nicest hotels I ve stayed in Athens.Staff is great,service of a 5 star,and the room very spacious-I had booked a superior room.The only kind of negative point is the area around the hotel. Walking there late at night makes you feel uncomfortable but nothing to worry too much.I ll go back definatelly.

I would have given a very nice review of the Novotel but I can't. The staff members were horrible, they did not smile and acted as if they did not want to be there. None of them seem that interested in anything, The room itself was okay and relatively clean but I don't think I quite like the frosted glass door for the bathroom. The Airconditioning in […] my room was not very cold but I never actually complained simply because they weren't approachable. I had to leave the window open at night but then the street below never sleeps there was constantly noise 24/7 cars, bike and people shouting being that its a not so nice area. The morning after I first checked in, the lady who replenishes the mini bar in the rooms burst into my room with her own key and without knocking shouting "Mini Bar Mini Bar" I was so furious. After she opened the door and saw me then she knocked on the open door still shouting mini bar, I was so shocked and couldnt speak for a bit, then when she was leaving with not as much as a sorry, I called her back and said not to do that again but instead she pointed to me putting the "Do not Disturb". I complained about this later in the evening by phone to a gentleman at the reception, instead of an apology, all I got was he knew the Mini bar lady very well and how she works, so I must have been sleeping and didn't hear her even though I said I wasn't. Strange I heard the housekeeper knocking the following day when I was actually sleeping. Wrong people! Devamı

A Classic Novotel hotel, good service and quality staff. Very good breakfast and close to the subway. no the down side: no air condition in Athens in April ??? and poor noise insulation in the room. overall positive stay .

We love Novotel for its family friendly policies. Staff members were very friendly. The breakfast was fantastic at reasonable price. The hotel is conveniently located. Though the surrounding area is a bit run down, it shouldn't bother a tourist. We hired a double room. The rooms were huge. Kids loved XBox station in the lobby.

Novotel Athenes is a decent hotel, but not necessarily great. The rooms were clean (enough) and the staff was friendly and helpful when needed. The hallways could have been a little cleaner, and the hotel appears to be a bit dated. The main problem with this hotel is it's location. I arrived at night and was meeting up with some friends also staying […] at the hotel. Thankfully they offered to meet me at Syntagma Square and accompany me back to the hotel because as I found out, after hours one might not feel as safe as they would like. In that same vein, even a taxi driver mentioned that he didn't frequent that area after dark. Lastly, if you want a hotel that includes breakfast, you might want to contact Expedia AND the hotel. This is the second time (when using Expedia) that I've received confirmation that breakfast is inclusive of the rate when indeed it is not. Breakfast was 14 euros/day. Devamı

Great staff, could not have done more for us! We always requested extra tea which was not a problem and always bought to our room very quickly! The Internet was also really quick in the room and free! Had a great stay, only around 3-5 stops from all the sigghts on the Metro, and a 5 min walk to the Metro!

Although located across a congested road a little away from the City Square, the Hotel is quite big, clean and equipped with all the facilities expected from a 4* hotel. The room offered to us was quite big and clean on the 5th floor with a personal balcony facing the road. A free 24-hour wireless service was also offered in the room. I made three separate bookings for three rooms as part of a 6 members’ group vacation packages but I was astonished to find that one room reservation was cancelled when we reached the hotel although I paid for the whole package on expedia.com. I had to call Expedia customer service to retrieve the lost room. I believe that was the hotel management mistake […] because Expedia confirmed all my bookings and the flight tickets worked fine. Anyway, Expedia customer service agent called the hotel management at once and restored my missing room. Other than that incident, the hotel staff was friendly. The hotel looks like new and I have to admit that we liked it except for the neighborhood. Although it's near to the city center and surrounded with supermarkets and restaurants it didn't feel very safe after 8 pm. The hotel is about 200 meters from the bus station and about 5 min. walk to Omonia square where you can access the subway system and move freely through Athens. Regarding that we just needed the hotel as a place to crash in, the rooms were perfect serving that purpose. Clean room, hot shower and comfortable bed are all what we were looking for. Devamı

This is probably the worst recommendation from Expedia ever. Here I was boasting to my friends how Expedia never gets it wrong and I land up at this hotel. This is not a family friendly hotel. The bathroom and toilet is small; it has no locks on it. Very small room and were given a double bed and sofa bed for kids. Once the Sofa bed was laid out no […] space for anything else. All out luggage had to be piled up in the corner of the room. No wardrobe space; no bell boys; we have to haul our luggage up. Their idea of play area is a small corner in the lobby of the hotel. Video Game place is also there but that is in front of the doors to the hotel. Even for a business hotel this is pathetic. They don't have a printer in the business center. Area that the hotel is located is also not so good. After dark; lots of guys hanging around the hotel. Some of the staff were really helpful and nice some I thought were racist. Stayed here from 23 Dec 11 to 26 Dec 11 so disappointed.Our room was under so called reservations. Definitely didnt feel secure in the room, the lock was shabby and could easily be pryed open without too much effort. So in order to sleep with some sort of peace of mind we placed a chair against the door. Also the food on a scale from 1-10 was negative […] 2. Other reviews said the food was good, don't know what they had because if it was anything apetizing it didnt come from this place. We ordered a total of three times foolishly hoping that the next order would be better then the last. It was disappointing each time. Also the breakfast that the hotel offers is not worth the 14 euros they charge, it really should be free. The hotel is located in a slightly rough neighborhood, but it is in close vicinity to many of the tourist attractions. Devamı
