Renaissance Cleveland Hotel - Cleveland

Nothing overtly horrible but just a tired hotel in need of refreshment. It has been a long time since the last cap-ex spend, Probably, given that it is Cleveland, it will be a long time until the next one too!!

If you're looking to be in walking distance to the warehouse district that is the biggest reason to stay at this hotel. The rates are a little high considering that this is Cleveland however. The room was clean and in good condition although it showed some signs of age. Would probably stay again as long as the price didn't get too out of touch.

This Hotel is well-maintained and for its age (vintage). The only thing I found a problem is the lack of heat in the room. It was just turning cold when I went up and there was only control for air-conditioning in the room and though I looked around I could not find heat. A plus is that there is a mall adjacent to this hotel that can be accessed without […] going outside and the train station to the hotel is located in the malls' basement. It cost me a minimal amount to take the train back to the Airport. Getting to the Hotel late at night was problematic as a cab cost me over 40 dollars (and he said he took the shortcuts). Try to take the train there if possible and save that money for meals. Of course the mall has a full food court, including a Hard Rock. This hotel is located downtown and right on the lake, so the wind and windchill should be factored in in the winter. Dress warmly! Devamı

The location and convenience was fabulous. Most of all, I appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of every single staff member we met. All were engaging and extremely courteous! the hotel was quiet at night and we had a good night's sleep despite being downtown, in the middle of all the night-life on a weekend.

Rooms were great, not much choice as far as restaurants, have to go into the attached mall. Parking garage has VERY tight quarters when it is filled to capacity. Over all we had a nice stay.

Just a couple of recommendations that would have made my stay extremely great! - Be informed that refrigerators are available at check in. - Have heat. Eventually had it after calling. took about 1-1 1/2 hrs. - Have Turkey sausage on buffet menu!

I asked for a king bed and we got a queen sized. My boyfriend is 6'4. A little cramped.

Overall very bad experience. First they gave me a room and it was extremely hot and the ceiling had a big crack with stuff hanging from it. When I called the front desk they told me that it's an old hotel and this is what I will get. When I told them I will find a different hotel to stay, they were quick to react and sent a maintenance guy to the room. […] He was a nice guy, told me that the rooms have only heat and I can open the windows if I want it cooler. He suggested I change the room to an inner room which is cooler. I changed and it was much much better. They told me they will compensate by giving me a breakfast next morning. Next day I come into my new room in the evening, my closet is wide open, my dry cleaned suits are thorwn around on my bed and completely wrinkled and the closet roof is broken and they left it like that with all the debris. I had to call and complain again, and this time they wanted me to change the room again. I hate the hotel staff here because they have no idea of customer service or what guests feel. They told me they will take care of this, but nothing much happened other than two guys showing up and fixing the roof of the closet back. I was charged for my breakfast which they told was free and for all the bad experience I had they did not care much other than talk about compensating for the wrinkling my suit. Devamı

Perfect location if you want to easily walk to baseball, football or basketball game. Rooms were not real big, but fine if you are only sleeping there. Connected to indoor mall and train station. Not for off the highway so really easy to get to. Overall very satisified with everything about it.

Will definately stay there again.

The room was okay, but the bathtub/shower leaked and we called the front desk multiple times to have someone mop up the bathroom and bring more towels. We never got anyone to mop the bathroom, but finally got towels after a 3rd or 4th call. The hotel could use some updating, but again, it was adequate.

Chose this Hotel for location and good reviews. This proved to be a great choice for my sons and I for a few days in Cleveland. The hotel has class and style my seen in many chain hotels. The room and bed were exceptional. Lousy view but so what we were not there to look out the window. The pool was a big disappointment ( it felt like a converted fountain) […] but the rest was great. If you can add the breakfast and parking to your package. It saved us $ and started each day perfectly. There are few cheap options otherwise without driving. Walk to sports and all attractions. WOW!!! From the very first second to the last second the staff could not have been more helpful, friendly and courteous. They went out of thier way to make sure that my stay was pleasant and comfortable. This was a beautiful, historic hotel with easy accessibility. Staff was wonderful, room was large and comfortable. Valet service was quick but costly. I was disappointed with the downtown area as it closes early -unless you are into the bar scene. The mall that is connected to the hotel was nice but never open-their hours were 11-7. Hotel had a great location for bar hopping, sporting events, dining, and shopping. I did have a problem with the booking because I needed two beds and they cramed us into a single which kinda suck. But the beds were comfortable.

perfect place for walking to great attractions, great bars and a great shopping mall downstairs in the hotel only thing was requested for a king size bed and got a double bed but the bed with the pillows and duvet comforter was great put me to sleep no problem

I was in town for my family reunion and I thought there might be a problem with an early check in, but there was no problem at all. All of the staff we met were friendly, easy to work with, and they were just overall courteous and professional. Please give them all a much needed & well deserved raise! The pool is amazing and great for families because […] it isn't too deep and you can feel safe that your children will not drown and have tons of fun. The room was immaculate and the beds, linens, and pillows were super crisp and comfy! I need a day to just lay in bed next time. The hotel is attached to a mall & train station, so if you want to rest well and save on eating, go to the mall and eat at the food court which I find super convenient especially when travelling with small children then walk around and do some shopping. It's close to the baseball field, if that's you thing. The Renaissance is totally our new spot whenever we have a reunion in Ceveland especially if we can get another super deal like we did this first go round. Thank you. Really enjoyed my stay at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel, I especially loved the way the Hotel group treated me. Every one at the front desk greeted me with a BIG "Good Morning Sir"! I enjoyed the Tower Center connected with the Hotel. The room I had looked straight across to Building 55 across the square, the unique thing about this was the night […] reflection of terminal tower in the glass face of the building...Awesome! Devamı

This used to be a four star hotel but now the rooms while clean are very old and could use some major updating and there are weird odors through out the hotel. The bed is very comfortable and the only thing that wasn't a disappointment .The bathroom leaves much to be desired. Its small and looks worse than the one in my apt. If this were a three star […] it would be really nice. The room service is nice but everything is over priced from the food to the movie rentals. Devamı

I will be calling in a complaint over the phone as well!! I made a reservation for 2-queen beds in each room. What did I get?? 1-queen bed!!!! there was 3 of us in the room!!! I had 2 rooms with 3 grown women in each and 2 had to sleep on the floor!!! we requested 2 roll-away beds at 4:50PM and by 2am we still didnt recieve them and they were OUT!! […] Not to mention REGINA at the front desk was RUDE!!! Package included breakfast and free parking. Indians home game and full hotel sold out parking before I could check in. Had to park across the street but the hotel fully refunded my parking expenses. Walking distance to many great indoor and outdoor places to eat. Great night life too. Walk to see the Indians or Cavs play. Classic old hotel, clearly remodeled, they did a pretty good job. Connected to an indoor mall with theatre. Best part of the hotel is everything around it, unless you prefer nostalgic buildings.

The location of the hotel was perfect for the Cleveland Marathon, but they did not have the room types that we requested online. They suggested we call them direct next time ;) But they did put a rollaway bed in the room for us and gave us a wonderful pre-run breakfast that was totally unexpected - bagel, peanut butter & banana. Beautiful hotel and right in the middle of everything! 2 blocks from West 6th St, which is packed full of bars and food. And 2 block from historic E 4th St, with the House of Blues and many fine dining areas. The service and room were great. I loved the modern updates with the still classic features. The Cleveland Renaissance is a great old hotel that has been nicely remodeled. Big rooms and a great location in downtown Cleveland. The prices are comparable to other downtown hotels. My only complaint was that the room was warm because of a spring warm up and the air conditioning was not adequate to compensate.

I love this hotel, it is charming and has so much charater! My sister had her wedding reception here in the Grand Ballroom 15 years ago and it is still just as I remembered - stunning! The location is probably the best in downtown Cleveland in my opinion. It is in walking distance of west 6th - where a lot of restaurants and bars are located and it […] is right next to tower city. The rooms are really big and the beds are really comfortable. The only complaints I have is that the hotel was under some repairs or renivations by the one entrance, but it wasn't that big of an issue since the main doors were still accessable. The only other improvement I would make is a bigger TV! Other than that, this place is great! I would reccommend it to anyone visiting Cleveland or anyone that lives near Cleveland that is looking for a night away. Toilet was dirty..Shower wall had hair on it..even after they cleaned the room the 2nd day. No soap or shampoo left...we had to ask...

When my wife and I opened the door to our room, a strange odor attacked us! Sewage back up from several floors below was evident. Hotel housekeeping had to contact building engineering who placed a odor desanitizing unit in room. Unit was painful loud and noisy for over 4hours. When unit was finally turned off by me, odor returned. cjhartson

Old hotel; very small room with not enough electrical outlets accessible for business traveler.

This is an old hotel, but well maintained; we found the oldness vibe charming rather than tired. Room was clean and comfy. Staff were all just fine. The deal we got that included breakfast and parking was a very good deal; the parking is not inexpensive if you pay separately, and the full breakfast buffet was excellent. Very conveniently located to […] the sports stadiums if that's your thing. It's a little less than a mile from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The neighborhood seemed very business-oriented and not much to do after dark except the sports arenas. There's a mall adjacent to the hotel with lots of restaurants like a Hard Rock, but it (like the neighborhood in general) seemed semi-deserted; it's definitely not like New York or other downtowns that are hopping at all hours. That, of course, is not the hotel's fault. I can definitely recommend this hotel for anyone in town for business, and also for leisure travelers like us. Devamı

The hotel room, although clean, left a lot to be desired on appearance and style (it could use an update). One of the room's air conditioners did not work right (it ran continuously despite having a thermostat). From 2-4 in the morning, I was regularly awoken by the sound of slamming doors from adjacent rooms (the doors, if not guided when closed, slam). […] Throw on top of that the charge for self-parking that was to be included in my reservation (a trainee handled my check-in), and my stay was forgettable. The walls are paper thin so you get to hear the guest in the next room the entire night. When we got back at 5pm our room had not been made. Went out to dinner and told the reception desk that the room had not been cleaned. Came back and they just threw the blankets back on the bed - the sheets were not changed. Towels were not restocked. The room air […] conditioner was noisy. The staff is not the most pleasant to deal with at times. The hotel is convenient but there are other choices. Devamı
