Hotel Albany - Albany

Although the hotel is old but we are expecting the facilities is nice. The walk way is huge but the remaining effective room is not that great. Some fixtures were missing. I was given a king bed for double bed reservation! The receptionist told me that there is no double bed in the hotel...that is bad if it is true!

great hotel if you're going to a concert at the times union center. but do not expect to get to the venue on time is you choose to eat there...the kitchen and staff could not handle the influx of people..

We were put in room 202, which had 2 queen beds where I had reserved a room with a king bed. Also, the bathtub faucet did not have a slight drip, it ran in a steady stream. The toilet was another issue. When you flushed the toilet, it would just keep flushing unless you jiggled the handle for several minutes.

Enjoyable night in a very nice hotel

*Front desk receptionist paused checking me in to proactively assist a colleague who was checking out a guest who was referencing a purchase order to pay for his group. The receptionist never said pardon me or offered any acknowledgement of interrupting delivery of guest service to me. The colleague was annoyed with the unsolicited intervention of the […] receptionist. Stayed here for the NY Bar Exam. Really convenient to get to the capitol and Empire Plaza. Surrounding downtown neighborhood is fine during the day, but dies off completely in the evenings. Getting food was tough so I ended up having to eat at the hotel. Food was fine, but overpriced like at every other hotel. This place is supposed to become a Hilton […] later on in 2012 which should spruce the place up. There is nothing wrong with the decor now, but everything in the hotel (e.g. carpet, paint, etc) looked a bit old and dated. Devamı

Reserved a room a month ahead of time. Arrived at 830pm to check in. My room stunk like cigarettes and there was an ash tray. Front Desk said I requested non-smoking, but I can't reserve it. That's the top floor. 15th. All other rooms were booked. There was litter in my room. A cheerio, a penny, a wrapper, now-and-later in random areas of the room, […] which by themselves would have been okay, but together made me question whether they vacuum because those items were there during my 3 night stay - Mon to Thursday. I didn't have time to complain. Pulled the sheets back and slept on the bed that didn't look like it was recently slept in; i.e. the sheets on one bed were depressed into the cross pattern grooves of the mattress. I don't think they changed the sheets. There was also a stain I didn't want to touch on the sink counter. I think they changed my towels, which was good. Even with airing out the room, it stunk after leaving the room for a while. Climate control in the room was loud; not continuously, but occasionally it sounded like the trap in the air duct would slam shut, real annoying in the middle of the night which seemed like every 10 minutes; so I turned that off. Bar in the basement was good. Breakfast was good, didn't know it was 10 bucks until I was done but I didn't want to look for anywhere else. Haven't seen my credit card bill yet.... Devamı

I've visited Albany to sit for the bar exam in February and stayed this hotel for 5 nights. The hotel looked old inside and outside but maintained very well. Most of the staff was friendly and polite. Management was well organized. House keeping staff was particularly helpful and paying attention to details. Positive sides: - Spacious room. Recently […] renovated and rooms are clean. - Bathtub and clean bathroom. - Very fast wireless connection. - Walking distance to Empire Plaza and very close to Starbucks, Subway and Rite Aid. - Complementary shuttle service available between the hotel and the nearest Amtrak station or the airport. Negative sides: - The building is old. - Elevators are slow. - Walls separating rooms are very thin. I could hear what people next door are talking. - Old bad plumbing made big noise at night. - Due to very hard bed and bumpy pillows I could not sleep well at night and I've got backache. I recently stayed at Hotel Albany, which was conveniently located in down town Albany; that was the only convenience of the evening. I booked a King Suite and after checking in, and assuming the employee would be able to see my reservation, like they said they could, I walked into Basic King Room. While calling the front desk to inquire regarding the […] error, I began to survey the room. Very unorganized, dated, moist smell in the air, and wires to all electronic devices strewn about, plugged into the middle of the wall, and just an eye sore. After the room error was corrected we were directed to the room across the hall, which was supposedly the King Suite. This room did have an attached living room and bar area, and two separate climate controls which were unusable because the hotel was on a Winter Heat-Only program. The advice was to open the window. Only issue there, one window in the whole suite?! To make matters worse, the window that we cracked open, thinking that was the furthest it could open, was, as we found out, able to be opened completely, and posed a very alarming safety concern. While we made the best of the room, the following morning, when the folio was slipped under the door, the price on the room did not reflect what I was charged by Hotels.com, leading me to believe that I was not in the actual Suite, but a Junior Suite (My folio room code was 829/K1J) I was overcharged by $32.02 and had I not seen or looked at my charges, as they had been prepaid, I would have been none the wiser. (Some minor detail errors: My name was correct but my address was Bellevue WA. I live in CT. My folio displayed the last four digits of a credit card number that was not mine. A little concerning.) The pool and hot tub area were very nice, room service was prompt and courteous. Location is very convenient walk to everywhere important in downtown Albany (Empire State Plaza, Lark Street, Pearl Street, etc). Every staff member I ran into was also polite.
