The staff definitely make this resort. A lot of the amenities are a bit outdated but the staff sell it. So, it's great. Pool is a bit small but perfect for children. Rooms smell a bit musty but I've stayed in 5 star that smelled worse so I guess you can't help it. We found everyone spoke great English and had a smile on their faces. Although the setting and location could not be beat and the staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel itself was run down and old. The guests were incredibly noisy all night long as we're the restaurant set up staff in the early hours. Our mattress felt as though it were stuffed with corn cobs, which made a good rest impossible. Only two positive things at that hotel...qualitiy of the staff and it is really clean. But other than that old resort need big renovation in the room... mold in the bathroom. A lot of noise during night... music people talking too loud, we haeds everything going on in the room beside us.. Not a lot og choices at the buffet. I stayed at the Friendly (Hola) Vallarta for 4 nights between Christmas and New Year's Eve. I can't emphasize enough how amazing the staff were - from the maids, bartenders, waiters, activities directors, bellhop - ALL of them are super nice and exactly what they claim - FRIENDLY! Always happy, ready to make you laugh and go above/beyond to make you […] smile. The rooms are charming, only slightly dated/worn but kept very clean. The grounds were impeccably maintained, but during this busy season it was hard during peak hours to find a lounger/chair. Hotel room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was a bit repetative, and the main hotel was a bit hot and sticky as the air conditioning was not on very often. The pool and poolside was kept very clean

The entire facillity is in need of renovation. What repairs have been made are slip shod. It was a very fun and friendly place. The beach however, is not very swimmer friendly. The sand seems to be more pebbles than sand including adjacent resorts and more so to the south. Also is huge decline to water where the surf just knocks you down. There appeared […] to be mold in the bathroom at ceiling in our room. The buffets had few very few options to choose from and not very warm. Even though it is smaller then other resorts, it offered everything that we were looking for. Very satisfied with the hotel and staff. The food was very good in all the restaurants and buffet. From the day of our arrival (01-19-2012) we were amazed at the speed, skills and outstanding service provided by the staff. We were also very impressed with the location of our room. We could see the beach, three eating establiments, the lobby, and most of the large pool from our balcony; where we spent many pleasant evenings greeting guests we had […] met earlier. After our second day, my wife Gloria and I agreed we would return next year around the same time. My hat goes off to the many wonderful staff members who treated us like royalty, and often went out of their way to accomodate our every need. Friedly is by far an appropriate name for this Resort & Spa. Seeing is believing, but experiencing is truly convincing. There is only one thing that i can say about necessary improvements at The Friendly Hola- I find the beds uncomfortable. I think they are too hard or maybe spring type mattresses- but my back was killing me. I think it would be a great idea if the Friendly Hola could get some new beds that are comfortable- other than that I LOVE everything about the […] Hola and will continue to go back year after year as All the good things out way the uncomfortable beds! We took our family of adult children to the Hola in December 2010, and enjoyed it so much my husband and I returned in March, 2011. The best part of the Hola is the staff. Be sure you bring a copy of your reservation email along. If you have that, you can check in in record time! If your room is not ready, you can change in the spa and spend the day […] on the beach until it is. The staff is second to none. Drinks are okay. Food is better than what we've found in other A-I's. Centrally located...a quick trip to old town or the marina. Ignore everyone in the airport. If you walk out to the street, you can get a cheaper cab. Otherwise, it's almost three times as much to the Hola from the airport than it is to get back. Tip the staff at the Hola. Many work for only a few dollars US per day, so tips are essential for their survival. Look up Abraham on the beach and he'll gladly bring chairs, cushions, umbrellas, and tables. Waiters will bring you food and drinks on the beach. My husband and I and several friends plan to go back in December for our 30th wedding anniversary. You can definitely find nicer rooms in Mexico, but we go to the room only to shower and sleep so rooms make no difference to us. The people make this resort, and PV weather is always the same. The food and service were excellent. Our room had a partial view of the ocean and part of a service area and it was noisy in the early morning. Not a problem as we didn't spend much time in the room except to sleep. As far as the hotel bars - I would have to say I'd hope they would expand the one inside so in the evening there would be more room for […] people it gets crowded quickly. The beer is Sol and comes in quarts/bottles and tends to be very warm. So try to stick to mixers if you go. Everyone is willing to make your experience fun so go and enjoy!!! Devamı

I have been to PV many times but my husbands first time. The hotel was very welcoming with the perfect lobby to even watch football on sunday. Rooms were very clean and convenient to access. The whole staff was friendly and just so happy and a pleasure to be around. Even excellent service on the beach. The waiter was always getting fresh drinks. The […] shows were OK and the food was good with limited selection. Some dancing in the evening in the lobby. We enjoyed our stay and would go back. The Friendly Hola certainly lives up to its name. Every employee greeted us, asked how things were going and if we were having a good time....right from the front desk check-in, the maids, the bartenders to the waiters in the restaurant. Special recognition goes to Abraham, the fellow who gets your lounge chairs and umbrellas on the beach. He always […] had a BIG smile, worked very hard and always had time to have a little chat every morning. We were there for 3 weeks in Jan., 2011 and the food was good. My husband and I liked breakfast the best as there was always fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, bacon, pancakes, refried beans, etc. Lunch and suppers at the buffet were good. We always found something we liked to eat. The Mexican gravies and sauces are a little different than what we Canadians are used to, so we asked for the sauces on the side. The Gourmet Restaurant (reservations required) was very good. We went twice and enjoyed the elegant setting and excellent service. There were always lots of activies from kayaking, beach volleyball, bingo, cooking lessons on the beach, city bus tour, etc. The evening shows in the theatre left something to be desired....very loud and for the most part, lame. That is our only complaint. The Friendly is a very old building with uncomfortable couches in the lobby where there is free internet access. The hotel is very dated, but very clean. Our room overlooked the pool and ocean. Very nice. Will return. Devamı

En cuanto a actividades y personal, es de lo mejor. Cuenta con club de niños y proporcionan hasta clases de natación y cine para los chiquillos. El personal es muy atento y muy amable. Las actividades para los grandes empiezan a las 10 y el hotel cuenta con spa, tenis, jacuzzi, saunas, vapor, basket acuatico, yoga, voley de playa y volley acuatico, […] aerobics y clases de baile. La piscina es bastante larga para hacer natación por la mañana, antes que se llene. Mas, al hotel le falta mantenimiento. Se ve que fue hotel de lujo, pero no se le ha dado el mantenimiento que todo hotel ocupa. Sus cuartos son limpios y los colchones cómodos, pero necesita un poco de pintura, de varniz, y reparaciones menores. Devamı
