The hotel staff was not very approachable and made it difficult to ask any questions. The pool was not cleaned well and covered in some kind of film the second day we were at the hotel. Great location and great price. Right on the boardwalk, step out of the back door of the hotel and you are on the beach. Every employee we crossed at the hotel spoke to us. The room was clean, new looking, the bedding was clean. The location was perfect, just steps from the beach. The breakfast buffet that was included was much better than I had expected. The staff was super friendly. We arrived in town early and I called to see if we could check in. No problems at all. Breakfast was great with different choices every morning. do not stay at this hotel. Rooms were smelly and mildew was evident on both rooms curtains. That's right we had to try two rooms before one was tolerable. We tried to cancel as soon as we opended the door to to first room , but was told that we had paid in full with hotels.com and therefore could not cancel our reservations. Unlike the Country Inn Staff who just kept asking us what does the room smell like, instead of offering a differrent one right from the beginning of our dilema.We were even lucky enough to be able to check inn at 1;00 p.m. the next day after I shared my situation with the staff at the Comfort Inn. Problem solving was not a strenght of the Country Inn's staff. But in retrospect they simply did not have much of a product/service to work with. This hotel was AMAZING,GREAT view of the beach ,VERY CLEAN,everything that u needed if u forgot anything was RIGHT there along the strip... The BREAKFAST was AWESOME put me right back to sleep b4 checkout... i will DEFINATELY recommend this hotel to my friends n it will b my first pick when i return...

Our stay at the hotel was great except for a transformer blew out the power for about 4 hours and the desk staff were not very forthcoming with updates and information (we had to keep asking them questions about what was happening and when the lights were coming back on)!

This hotel was located in a great location. However, the condition of the hotel was quite surprising considering this hotel is one of the newer ones there. The rooms were definitely "used" quite a lot and were starting to wear in the bathroom area and the carpet. The beds were quite comfy and clean. The holel was very clean and nice. The indoor pool could have been a little warmer but it was fine. The staff was very friendly. Wonderful breakfast. Nice price for what we got.

I loved everything about this hotel--a tremendous bargain for the price. The one thing I will say is that the pool was very, very cold, but they did bump up the temperature when we talked to the maintenance person. This hotel is on the ocean. It is just about perfect. The people in the hotel were polite as can be. The morning breakfast was great. The hotel was a little hard to find because Atlantic avenue bends behind Pacific. The search is well worth it

The hotel is ideally located right on the ocean within easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The view out the sliding glass doors was great! The only drawback was that the beds have not be updated in awhile and were lumpy and the mattresses broken down -- not enough of a problem to hinder a wonderful stay, though. they also offer a free […] full breakfast that was well maintained and attended. While staying at the hotel a party member became ill. The staff bent over backwards to accomadate us for an extra day. They went out of there way to make sure we had everything we needed. Staff is friendly, accomadating, respectful and proactive. We will stay with them again.

This was a great hotel. The room was clean and very nice with a beautiful ocean view. Parking was easy as the parking deck was attached to the hotel. Breakfast was one of the best I have experienced. Great Hotel and would recommend it to anyone.

Very good location. Very good price. Some work needed on room condition, althought did not affect general comfort. Biggest issue was A/C unit - did not work right 1st night - had to cut off and then back on, then it worked. Probably confined to my room only. Stayed at the Country Inn & Suites with my family. Hotel is centrally located in the resort area. The room was good sized for us to hang out & relax in. The bathroom cabinet is cheaply made and shower had some mold on it. Breakfast was a good selection every morning and was new selection of hot foods every morning. My first impression of the hotel was that it wasn't very friendly. The girl that checked us in wasn't in a good mood and it showed! She didn't give us any of the courtesy magazines and coupons. I saw those on the counter later that night and took them. Room was clean and they fixed the plugged toilet quickly, but never came and fixed the light in the […] entry way. Also never replaced coffee/plastic cups. We didn't realize it until the last night, but we couldn't find out DVD player. Checked at the desk and someone on the cleaning staff had turned it in case and all to the housekeeping manager. Apparently we had left it in the hallway the day we checked in. The room was dusty and dirty. The toilet had stool smeared on inside bowl; therefore proving the room had not been cleaned properly. The toilet did not flush properly...we had to hold the handle down to completely flush. The carpet had specks of dust and dirt on it as if it had not been vacuumed. The lobby coming in from the beach smelled of spoiled milk. The overall cleanliness was very disappointing and not to mention that the staff was very rude. When we checked out the next day we were asked how our stay was and I replied with the answer "not good, it was dirty and I would not come back again". The front desk hostess laughed and yelled as we walked away, "that will give you something to talk about". Their customer service and professionalism needs much improvement. clean, updated, & great ocean front location!

This hotel was clean, wonderfully renovated, and super convenient for enjoying the beach, pier, and boardwalk. It was also the most inexpensive "suite" option for our family... perfect choice for us, We will definitely stay here again if we venture back to Va Beach.

We booked 3 nights at this hotel and were very disappointed with the maintenance and lack of cleanliness. To begin with, there was sand on one of the beds and the room itself needed a facelift. It looked old and tired. Both my husband and I received several bug bites while sleeping. What upset us most was the condition of the bathroom. It had a leaking […] showerhead, backed up drains and generally felt unclean. I showered with my flip flops on and I bathed my daughter sitting on a towel inside the tub. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and staff was very friendly. The board walk is right there, with many resturants and activties. Beach assess is great. No complaints.

We were very disappointed. I have stayed at numerous Country Inns and never had a real complaint. We were awake til 3 am due to the noise in the hallway from teenagers raising hell and unattened. We felt unsafe in going outside due to the trashy folks from the boardwalk hanging out in the yard of the hotel next to our room patio. People smoked in the […] upper balconies and through there butts and trash down to our level. The breakfast folks were 15 minutes late opening up for us to eat and then the food was cold. Eggs were refrigerator cold and full of water. The pastries were cold and no microwave to warm them. The OJuice was water down and nasty. Oceanfront. Right on the boardwalk.

This is a perfectly good hotel on the boardwalk with ocean views at a very reasonable price. Hot/cold breakfast is included.

Close to all that Beach Street, USA, has to offer. Convenient access to both the waterfront and to Atlantic Avenue. Very comfortable! But their greatest asset is their excellant, friendly staff. My wife and I will certainly be staying there again!

We stayed at this hotel during spring break. The price was great for having all rooms oceanfront. The great deal in price was most likely due to weather not being consistently above 70 this week. I made my reservations early because I knew it was spring break and figured the hotel would be busy. Because I as traveling with my parents (in their 70's) and my children, I asked for side by side rooms (had been told when I made the reservations I could have adjoining rooms). When I checked in, we were NOT EVEN ON THE SAME FLOOR. After much grumbling […] with the front desk clerk, who was very nice, she was able to "move" someone and get us on the same floor about 5 doors down from each other. The room was OK for the price and being beach front was nice as well. The pool was OK, a little loud due to the enclose area and water seemed a little green, but my kids had a good time swimming during Spring Break. The continental breakfast was excellent, very clean an a lot of choices.
