Sofitel San Francisco Bay - Redwood City

The hotel was everything to be expected and more. The availability of the pool, fitness center, and room amenities was great. I appreciated the utmost customer service at the front desk both in-person and calling from the room. The rooms were very well kept and stocked.

Very stylish place that's quiet & upscale -- NOT for kids! Only complaint - can't open windows in room at all for fresh air.

Urine and tissue were in the toilet when I arrived, so I had to call housekeeping and ask for Lysol and paper towels so that I could clean the toilet which clearly had not been cleaned.

Loved this place for a get a way to peninsula. Great hotel tucked away in a business park.

I always look forward to staying at this Sofitel, Staff are always courteous and helpful..rooms are always kept up nice and clean..love the comfortable beds, duvets, and pillows, always a good nights' rest!

The Hotel was lovely. The staff very friendly and helpful. Everything was great except the bed was uncomfortable. It was quite hard under the pillow top. The neighborhood was industrial. That was fine with me because I grew up in Redwood City. I knew my way around. It felt safe. There were not any restraunts or other services near by. For hotel promoting itself as a "luxury" hotel, we found our stay anything but. We found mold all over the grout of the tile in the shower, as well as on the grout of the tile on the bathroom floor and walls. There was also mold all around the perimeter of the windows of our room. And not just in 1 or 2 places either. And, since it's illegal in many […] states to try and sell a home with a mold problem or hide the fact that the home had mold due to the inherent health hazards, we were stunned to find something like this at a "luxury" hotel. In addition, when we got up the next (Saturday) morning, we discovered there was no hot water. And we waited till later in the morning and tried again, to no avail. Also, the Hotel Sofitel also boasts of the comfort of their beds. My wife and I found them anything but! And, worse still, when we alerted the hotel staff of the unhealthy and substandard conditions of our room, they simply glossed over them and offered us a room upgrade the next time we stay with them (which will not happen). They didn't even offer us a discount on our stay, much less address each of our room's substandard conditions, which leads me to believe they really don't take things like this seriously. And our stay there seems to prove it, especially with so many and unhealthy conditions. Devamı

We've always enjoyed our stays at the Sofitel! The beds and pillows are wonderful...always wake up rested and hate to even get out of bed as its always so very comfortable. Looking forward to our next stay!

Excellent hotel for the price! Highly recommend! It's chic (but not child accommodating) & suave, & great if you're okay driving 20 minutes to the city. Lagoon water surrounds with quiet walkways. I have nothing to complain about. Our stay at the Sofitel was great. The employees were so friendly and helpful, they all did an awesome job. The room was spotless(which is something I am very picky about) I have no complaints whatsoever about our stay here.

I love the hotel. It is definitely a luxury hotel. The room is clean. Everything is great except lack of front desk service. I called the front desk from the room but has no answer. I called the hotel telephone and no answer. I presume they are short handed because of christmas. Overall, I enjoyed my stay in the hotel.

Hotel stay was great, however, we had no jot water For showering on Christmas morning. Had to come back later in the morning To shower. We survived, but it really was an Inconvenience.

The hotel location doesn't have much around it but is very convenient for those who need to go to SFO or mid peninsula locations. Very friendly staff and delicious food. I had requested a smoking room when making the reservation. I was told at check in that the hotel no longer allowed smoking in any of their rooms. That was inconvenient and needs to […] be updated so the few smokers left will be aware. The room was a bit small but met our needs. It was clean but the bathroom looked a bit jaded. Around 7 a.m. some heating or air vent went on and made a terrible rattling noise over our heads. Bothersome. The view from the room was nice. The food was delicious and I will go there again for a meal for sure. Again, the hotel seemed quiet so the staff was attentive which was nice. We booked the chocolate lover's package and it exceeded our expectations. Not only was the bed heavenly, so was the hot chocolate!

Stayed here over Thanksgiving because my family lives in Redwood City and didn't have room for all of the guests in town. The location was perfect - very easy access to all of the bay area and San Francisco. The hotel is overlooking the bay with a lovely path around to walk the dog. The whole lobby is a restaurant and bar which is very nice to go to […] before dinner or to meet with friends and family. The room was very clean, and the bed was insanely comfortable. PERSONNEL are very attentive and helpful at all levels, from valet to checkin to bar to restaurant and room service. Very comfortable bed. Excellent shower facilities. Keurig coffee in room adds deluxe touch. Excellent Lodging.

This has been our choice for short holiday stays for a few years because of the Sofitel's pet policy (very receptive), the ambience of the hotel, and their exceptional service!

When I checked in the ignorant receptionist tried to hand over to me someone elses credit card and ID. When I told her this didn't belong to me, I was told to "step aside" The furniture in my paid for "Luxury Room" was old and chipped. The window sill was filthy, the carpet was stained. The only good thing was the bed. There are too many issues to list. […] This place is a disgrace to the Sofitel name. Very nice hotel located on/adjacent to the Oracle campus. Nice atmosphere and very pleasant staff.

The food is fantastic, the service is great. The room I had is beat up. Keys to my room did not work, and after that was fixed the door would not lock. After the lock was changed only had to go back downstairs for a new key twice. The shuttle service needs more flexibility. Had to wait for 40 minutes in the rain. Robert the shuttle driver was wonderful […] and went out of his to make sure I got to the airport on time. He came in early to drive me. Devamı

This is luxury hotel with excellent customer service. From the door man David, to front desk Karen, to Director of Banquets Emad, they were superstar in making us feel at home at Sofitel. They ensured the hotel room is per our expectation, and Emad went above and beyond to ensure our event at Sofitel to be an elegant and classy one. This hotel was a gem! The people were so friendly and welcoming. The room service food was excellent. I ordered an egg white frittata and it was exceptional with dry wheat toast. The rooms were large and the bathroom was spacious. I enjoyed the gym both days I was there and the equipment was clean and in excellent working order. Being in town alone […] without my husband they even offered to park my car for me when I returned from a party at 1 am. Overall awesome hotel!! great Keurig coffee in the room too! Devamı

This hotel is close to Oracle headquarters. The rooms were great. Some other reviews complain that the rooms were dated, but I don't see it. The beds were comfortable and the hotel quiet. And parking is free, so no hidden charge there. Very convenient access to the highway and the airport, yet no noise from either.

I checked in after a long cross country flight, and was given a room on the third floor where a tree blocked all natural light (apparently to obscure the view of the adjoining parking structure). I requested another room and was given a handicapped accessible room. The room had a massive coffee stain on the window sheer, the wood on the vanity was deteriorating, […] bath tiles needed replacement. Tired and having moving once, I accepted the room for my 2 day stay. While I found the common areas fine and service in the restaurant good, the hotel fell far short of my expectations for a purportedly 4 star property charging a premium rate. I will stay elsewhere on my next visit to the Bay area. Devamı

Our group reserved 3 rooms. 2 of them were excellent. Third room was old, tired and dirty. They requested a room change and were moved to an clean, lovely room. The experience is not consistent and depends on the room assignment. Just like the other reviews, the hotel is a great price and is conveniently located in between 2 airports. The lobby and facilities are beautiful but the rooms definintely need a facelift. We stayed in a beautiful corner suite with an amazing view which helped to make up for the out-of-date bathroom and furniture. Everything was wonderful except the maids knocked on my door twice in the morning to see if I was checked out and it was my only morning to sleep in. I thought that that was annoying as check out was at noon.
