Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel - Philadelphia

This hotel will be better when they finish construction in the lobby. The room had peeling paint on the door, only one trash can, slow internet, and no fridge in the room. Other than that the room was very clean and spacious. The TV worked well. The choices for food were limited. Both my sister and I had salads with sour ingredients that we spit out. […] On the plus side, there is a kiosk that serves Starbucks. The kids enjoyed the pool. The fitness room was ample. There was a computer area in the lobby where the kids could play while eating pizza that was delivered. They didn't like Rex pizza, too spicy, but preferred Pete's the next day. Don't miss Sabrina's Cafe around the corner. TGI Fridays is close by. There are surprisingly limited restaurant choices in the area. We liked taking the Phlash bus around town for touring. Avoid the Philadelphia History Museum. Not much history and very overpriced. The kids loved The Franklin Institute. There is an adorable splash park and beautiful fountain park on the way there. Our stay was just OK. And, it would have been nice to know ahead of time that the lobby is currently being renovated. It's not your typically 'Sheraton' and they should come down on the price considerably. It definitely not 5 star, plus the Starbuck's Cafe is only open for 10-2pm. The man who checked us in refused to give us a king size bed bc he said they were fully booked. I booked 3 months in advance (paid in full) & I didn't want to spend 5 nights sleeping in a separate bed than my husband. We got to our floor and it was crowded with rugby players running up and down the hallways. We got to our room and immediately realized […] it reeked of cigarette smoke even though it's a non-smoking hotel. The front desk sent someone up with new keys, only to find that they had to check the room first before they'd let us go into another room. Once in our new room, there was a giant hole in the wall in the bathroom, I could hear people in the next room over using their bathroom, if that room slammed their door shut it would actually MOVE OUR BEDS! When we got turn down service, they only gave us 2 towels. I tried to order room service and asked what the soup of the day was, she said "um, i don't know, I'd have to check - what else do you want?" then put me on hold for 15 minutes before I finally hung up. We ordered several movies on our last night in town and the audio didn't sinc up with the video - so they comped us the movies when we called down to complain. Then, when checking out we obviously complained about our stay and she said she'd comp our movies (WHICH THEY ALREADY DID). This hotel is trying to be nice, and charging the rates of a nice hotel but it really isn't. Our sheets were dirty, the TV didn't work well (froze a lot, no HD, remote needed new batteries), our shower head was broken, parking is 40/day for guests, and the staff were uninformed (I got different answers regarding parking and check out time from multiple […] different staff). The place needs some work, the elevators are horrible, and the underground parking is costly. I doubt I would stay again unless I was forced to.

The location of the hotel was great, but I was pretty disappointed with the interior. It's pretty old and could use updating. I'm a Starwood Preferred Guest, so I have pretty high expectations for Starwood hotels, and I didn't feel this one lived up to that name. The staff were all very nice, it's just the hotel itself that needs some work.

We stayed here for a weekend. We parked the car and walked around Center City -- this was a good place to do that! There were many things to see within a 15-minute-walk from the front doors.

They take advantage of you with the garage parking charges. $39 a day. Ridiculous. Service was fine, but overall this Sheraton seemed like the neglected child.

Enjoyed my stay. i noticed dust under the glass on the table in my room,but it wasn't enough to be a turn off. The location allowed me to visit family & friends in all directions.

I was very disappointed in the condition of the room. The rug had large black stains, the furniture was very tired looking, lots of nicks in it. The water pressure coming out of the shower head was very poor, just a bit above a trickle. There must have been a water saver in the shower head because the tub spout had plenty of pressure.

We booked our 3 hotel rooms about 3 months prior to our arrival. Our rooms were not available until 6pm. 3 hours after check-in time of 3pm. This was for a special event and we had to leave dinner to come back to check in. I will not be staying at this hotel again.

Just a 2.5 block from the Broad Street entrance to the Convention Center is extremely convenient. Walk is safe and by hospitals and outpatient centers. Not much for food within a block radius, but Reading Terminal is another block and a half away. Room was extremely clean and comfortable. Beds are some of the most comfortable I've had in a hotel. The […] hotel was sold out for the convention in town and I had a room right by the elevator, but it was extremely quiet, with exception of one day, where the cleaning staff that was slamming every door as hard as they could down the hall during the day. Downfall is there is no fridge in the room. Prices were jacked up for the convention week. Also, the bathroom is nice, but could use a vanity upgrade rather than just a wall-to-wall counter (aesthetic complaint only). Would absolutely stay again. Devamı

We were not pleased that when we were checking in, we were told that the type bed we had reserved was not available, and that if we wanted that, we would have to pay an upcharge. The person checking us in was very matter-of-fact, and not willing to work to accommodate us. We were disgusted to see the condition of the floor in the hallway, that stayed […] that way for the duration of our stay. Hotel was ok. It was perfect walking distance to the Franklin Institute and the Philly Convention Center.

We're from Texas. First time in Philly. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel was in a great location for walking to all the tourist places. It was cold! Something we're not used to in south Texas. So we stayed in one night and ate at the seafood restaurant located in hotel. Delicious!!

Nice hotel with a very friendly, helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel had plenty of amenities. Restaurants and coffee shop on site . Subway was 2-3 blocks away, which was nice to just park the car and not deal with a parking garage until our departure. Would definately stay again.

This is a nice hotel. But very mixed in quality. The main thing is there was a convention there the weekend we stayed and the hotel was NOT prepared or equipped for it. They were obviously overwhelmed, which was apparent from the moment we pulled into the drop off area... which was congested, the garage full and only one bell staff member outside to […] deal with quite a mess. Not much improved in that way. It was not the fault of the staff. The hotel management clearly did not staff up or plan well for a capacity weekend. The rooms are spacious and nice, though some chintz in the quality of fixtures, especially in the bathroom. I don't know what they would be like on a "normal" weekend, but on a capacity weekend they leave a lot to be desired service wise. Food, however, was top notch. Devamı

The hotel is really nice,,my only problem was that we had to pay for parking. But in order to leave in and out if the hotel you had to have gotten a slip from the front desk in which I wasn't informed so I had to pay 15$ to leave out of the hotel

We stayed at the Sheraton because we were helping judge at the Philadelphia flower show. The morning we left the hotel we had snow showers so we decided to take a cab to the Convention Center. The staff was very helpful and cabs were lined up at the hotel. The view from the 20th floor was spectacular and the room was very comfortable. The gym and pool […] were also nice to use. Stayed here during the Flower Show 2013. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a good location (apx 5 blocks from convention center) - within walking distance. Biggest negative was the concierge sent us to a breakfast place at 6:30am that didn't open til 8am. Otherwise, good experience.
