Best Western Plus Beach Resort Monterey - Monterey

Wonderful room; loved being on the ocean and listening to the waves. Comfortable bed; nice, clean room. Good value & would highly recommend. However, one negative point is why charge guest for parking at a secluded location such as this?

Hotel staff was very accommodating. Our room was clean but small and furnishings were dated. We arrived after dinner and were looking for a place to have a quick dinner. Even though we were just looking for a pizza, every restaurant we called closed by 9! We called room service and they took good care of us, even though they were also getting ready […] to close. It was a great place to be treated like a king.They will wine and dine you and make you feel like you never want to go back home.

clean hotel, insane views of ocean and beach!

Room 126 BEWARE! Super LOUD elevator....keeps you up all night, and you can even hear it over the blow dryer in the morning. That's loud!

We stayed here for 5 nights recently and were pleased with the friendly customer service and cleanliness. And you cannot beat the location as it is right on the beach! We have a six year old son and he loved it! The rooms could use a little updating, but they are clean and comfortable. We loved hearing the waves from our beach front room. Only downfall […] was that the person checking us in failed to tell us they would charge us $60 per day in order to cover any outstanding fees, such as room service, parking, etc. This, of course would be credited back to us in full if we failed to use any of it (except for parking). However, they did not make us aware of that upon our check in and thus charged our debit card! Make sure you ask about this and give them a credit card instead of a debit card, as that can add up if you are staying for any length of time like we did. Luckily they waived our parking fee for our inconvenience in having our debit card charged unknowingly. Otherwise, all service was warm and friendly and personable. They even had an Easter egg hunt for the kids and left little bags of goodies on our doorknob on Easter morning. Nice, personal touch. I would stay there again and would recommend to a friend. The hotel is in an breathtaking location. In summer this place could be heavenly. The beach is almost at your door step. The room that I stayed had a fresh smell and well lit. The service was great from the person behind the counter to the person who clean the room. It was nice to come back each day to a clean room. They even made our beds everyday. […] Thank you! It gave me a good sense of a vacation where I did not have to worry about household chords. The only thing that these hotel needs to pay closer attention is the shower faucets; they seem to be loose and does not pull water pressure fully, but I would definitely come back. Devamı

Great location - right on the beach. The only draw back was $15 per night parking fee was not disclosed at booking.

The room was not cleaned, smells like old, liens look like were not washed. We stayed one night and changed to Hilton. The bed, pillows are not confortable. Do not recommend at all.

Ok, except room door was difficult to lock

We spent two nights here on Easter weekend 2012. Its right on the beach, but also right on Hwy 1 and theres alot of road noise and sirens to contend with. The hotel is pretty old and run down, beds were not very comfortable and the overall cleanliness of the room was lacking. I won't stay here again. the hotel was reasonably priced, however you have to pay extra for parking, and breakfast was not included.

This hotel is very loud, the rooms are outdated and the housekeeping is poor. The extra fees add up. I'm not sure how this place has such a high rating on this site. I would never go back or recommend it to anyone else.

I would not recommend this facility as the cost was exceedingly high for a room that 2 people were unable to walk through at the same time.Calling this place a resort is really stretching it.They even charged our credit card for parking as if the rates weren't high enough already.Nice view from our room but that would be about the only positive thing […] I can comment on. Pros: the hotel is right on the beach and the location is pretty good. Also there is free wifi. Cons: the hotel charges you for parking. The rooms are on the small side. Also try not to get a room with a pool view because people decide to be in the pool early in the morning so those of you who like to sleep in will not be happy.

The hotel had a great location next to the ocean and located conveniently by Hwy 1 and close to many attractions. The problem was that I booked it for the ability to bring my dog, but was relogated to the back side of the motel without even a window that opened out. No ocean breeze, no airflow/ventilation at all and no view. It may as well as been a […] cheap motel 6 for 1/2 the price in town. The room was quite run down, the carpet dirty from guests walking in from the beach with sand and dirt on their feet. The common areas are attractive and the view and location on the beach are spectacular. Definitely recommended if you are taking your dog as they are welcome and get a treat!

The restrauant's food was over the top of our expectations. Faboulous.

We had a great stay. The room was great as was the view. We'll be back soon!! Were there for St. Patrick's day and they had great entertainment in the bar.

The hotel staff was super nice, however... We slept ocean side and the waves crashing on the beach were super loud (especially during high tide - around midnight). There were no fans in the room to drown out the noise. We loved the scenary, just wouldn't pay more to do ocean side again.

If you like going to sleep and waking up with the ocean waves rolling on the beach, and if you like walking a beautiful beach into town, and if you enjoy comfort and the pleasure of good food and good service, you'll stay at Monterey Beach Resort.

This Best Western is by far the best one I have ever stayed at. The beach is steps away and the waves just take your breath away! This place was the perfect romanic getaway. The on-site restaurant was excellent! The Warf and Cannery Row were about 10-15 minutes away so it was the perfect spot. I only wish the windows opened to hear the waves crashing […] during the night. I will be staying at this Best Western whenever I go back to the Monterey Area! Devamı

We loved this place. We only reserved one night here on our trip to San Francisco, but we wish we would have spent more--if not all--of our time here. Some points: the ocean is feet from the hotel rooms; it's a 10 minute freeway drive to Carmel Beach; there's an awesome jogging trail that runs along the road near the water; fall asleep to the waves […] crashing; let your pup run on the beach; gorgeous lobby with a huge window view of the ocean; amazingly nice staff who gave us a free upgrade to an ocean front room. the hotel was average but the location on the beach good. it was noisy with the waves crashing on the ocean but pleasant to watch. the rooms were average and a bit dated. they charged us for parking when we checked out without notifying us which was a bit rude as we stayed allover California in two weeks and was never charged this. would go somewhere […] closer to Carmel next time as it was a bit out of the major tourist attractions such as Pebble Beach and Carmel. Nothing special in my opinion other than the view. The only thing I enjoyed other than the hotel was having a restaurant on site.

It is a great location and the rooms are clean. The decor and hotel rooms itself are out dated and the hotel needs a few repairs. The idea of just being able to walk out onto the beach from your room outweighed the looks and decor of the hotel.

Stayed here on a cold and windy day and could not go outside to enjoy the beach and area but the hotel is decent. The rooms are outside so the wind/cold can blow through the door on the wind/beach side. Restaurant was OK for breakfast. Lobby area nice with fireplace and room was ok.

We had a wonderful stay...Beautiful views and the room was nice. Our only complaint was the quality of service in the restaurant in the morning. They were very easily overwhelmed and a tad rude. We left and went to the Black Bear Diner instead and were glad we did. I did hear people complimenting the restaurant for dinner and lunch however.

Loved the hotel and the room. Only complaint would be the size of the bathroom was very tight and did not have hold rails for the shower in case of trip and fall that would have been possible. All else was near perfect. I would recommend this hotel but be ready for the smallish shower toilet combo on the beach front room.

I was surprised to find that it did not offer complimentary breakfast. The other BIG deal to me was that it was constantly windy which I believe is due to its location on the Monterey Bay. Even in the morning the wind was whipping strong. So while located on a long beach perfect for walking, it was not enjoyed as much. This may have been a temporary […] thing though, not sure. Devamı

Everything was very nice but the hot tub it needs to be cleaned looked like mold around surrounding of the spa.

My husband and I have stayed at every 4 star hotel in Monterey but no hotel could compare to the comfort and excellent customer service we experienced here beginning with Pamela at the front desk and Sophia, our house keeping technician. The room was comfortable and clean. We were in an ocean front room and the view was breathtaking. If you're a light […] sleeper the loud and constant crash of the surf may keep you awake. For us it was heaven. There is a nice restaurant on the 4th floor with room service available. We enjoy curling up at night to a movie we haven't seen after a day of cycling or sightseeing. We were disappointed that the hotel did not offer any pay per view movie options. The only other negative is the parking charge of 15.00 for self park. That should be elimnated for the guests of the hotel. Devamı

This hotel just seems dated... It has a great location being right on the beach but the rooms are tiny, and the furnishings are old. The rooms have bathrooms that have doors made out of wood slats, so you can hear everything people are doing in the bathroom, gross! The rooms do have safes which is nice. But the fridge in my room froze all of the food […] I put in there, it didn't work well. The heater/AC was semi-broken in my room. And if they put you on the pool side of the hotel be prepared for music and loud noise until 9pm at night. They charge a fortune for parking and the lot was totally full the whole time I was there.
