Hotel Portamaggiore - Roma

My girlfriend and I were quite satisfied with the hotel itself, especially the cleanliness, service, personel and the room. Highly recommended, and the pictures on this site certainly do the hotel justice. As we were quite satisfied, we will only mention the things we didn't like, as it may be things that make people decide against the hotel: The location […] is a bit questionable, as the hotel was located right next to a highly trafficated cross section, but as we were prepared for the extreme traffic in Rome, we brought earplugs and had no trouble sleeping. The rest of the area itself was looking nice. About 7 minutes walk to the metro, and a bus stop right next to the hotel, made traveling around the city very easy. Also located within walking distance from the main central train station ("Termini", ~15 minutes with luggage). The only major thing we really didn't appreciate, was the restaurant associated with the hotel. The waiters were *very* rude, and not smiling at all, and their lack of english was quite apparent. Apparently they didn't like tourists and had decided that they all hated their jobs... The food wasn't very good, and it was expensive, so we only ate dinner there the first evening we arrived. The breakfast included in the booking did the job, but wasn't very interesting - A typical boring continental breakfast. So all in all, as long as you spent as little time in the restaurant as possible, you will be quite satisfied with the hotel. Devamı

Friendly and obliging reception desk, open 24 hours. Very practical: next to hotel are numerous tram and bus stops some in front of hotel, small shops, pizzeria and an excellent family-run small restaurant. Buffet breakfast is OK but rather basic. Comfortable, clean and pleasant rooms. Hotel fairly well located for city sights. Would reccomend it as good value for money.

This hotel is a fairly standard low-budget hotel. One important point to mention is that the sound-insulation of the room is poor. You can hear people moving in the corridor outside, so sleeping using earplugs is a good idea.

We stayed for three nights. The location was great, walked to all the sites and great restaurants. We would recommend the hotel. The wifi service is one cost for your entire stay, it was reasonable and the reception was fine. The breakfast was adequate, coffee, juice, yogurt, cereal, and rolls. Perfect location! This was our first trip to Rome so we spent most of our days visiting famous locations. We could easily walk to many tourist attractions (like the Colosseum) or, if our destination was a little to far (like the Vatican), we were only a 10 minute walk from the main train station (Roma Termini). There were several restaurants nearby […] as well. All in all, it was very convenient to get where ever we wanted to go. The only complaint we had was having to pay to use the wi-fi connection only to learn that there's no access from the rooms, only from the wi-fi room located on the first floor. Overall, the hotel was great: decently sized room and bathroom, very clean, helpful and friendly employees. Devamı

Not in the most touristy part of town if that is what you are looking for. Comfortable place and very clean. Helpful staff. I would recommend staying here for my own family.

This is a very serviceable hotel and reasonably priced. The downside is that it is off the beaten path but is still reachable by Tram which takes you directly to the Termini and therefor to all other connections you might need. Room was on the small side but functional. Bathroom was best feature. Small refrigerator for water but not much else. Cafe […] next door and good restaurants within walking distance. Check in was flexible as I got there at 1pm and though the internet checkin time was 2pm - I was allowed to go to the room. Checkout time is not 12 noon but 10am. They will keep your bags if, like me, your flight is not until the evening. They have access to tours - but they leave quite early in the AM. Major downside was the odor which came up through the vents for a brief time in the early morning. Since by then the AC had been turned off (comes on at 6pm and off at 6am) I opened the windows and it dissapated fairly quickly. Never did find out what that was. Very comfortable waiting room and they are generous with your use of it. Very clean. If you don't care for a tub 323 looked like a good room location. Mine was over a courtyard so a little noisy but I turned on the fan to high and drowned out anything that would keep me awake. Seems to be used by tour groups a lot. Breakfast is included - but again early and consists of breads, cheese, meats, cereal, coffee and juice. Cafe Americana con latte will get you a larger cup of coffee and when you add the milk - you have a latte that isn't gone in one slurp. Devamı

All (excepted one) hotel staff were not helpful and rude. it's very noisy. the hotel needs updating b/c the rooms kind of run down. provided free yet good coffee and breakfast.

If you are only using the hotel for a place to sleep, it is perfect. It would have been nice if they had shower curtains. Most Americans are used to showering and it was difficult to keep from getting water on the floor.

Hotellet ligger lidt uden for det centrale Rom, men det er nemt at komme til hovedbanegården (Termini) med sporvogn. Eller 600 m. at gå til nærmeste metro-station. Værelset virkede og lugtede lidt gammelt, og kun een stol i et tre-sengs værelse, ellers OK. Rimeligt stort badeværelse, men ingen knager, og tynde håndklæder (ikke frotte). Selv om der var mange skoleklasser på hotellet, så kunne vi overhovedet ikke høre dem på vores værelse. Under hotellet var en god lille cafe/ restaurent og rundt om hjørnet, ned i kælderen var der et super godt og billigt spisested Lapecora Pazza, hvor vi nød faders gode mad og en hyggelig betjening. comoda la posizione, personale gentile e accogliente, finalmente un prezzo proporzionato al costo della vita e all crisi che pesa su tutti noi. vicino all'hotel si trovano graziosi ristorantini ma anche quello interno all'albergo è buono e non eccessivamento costoso

Helt ok hotell til forholdsvis rimelig pris. Hotellet ligger et lite stykke unna sentrum. Det er gode kollektivttransporttilbud i området, men noe uoversiktilig å få oversikt over rutene til de aktuelle busser og trkker.

Ihan viihtyisä hotelli ja sijaintikin oli loppuenlopuksi hyvä kun oppi busseja ja ratikkoja käyttämään. Aamiainen ei tosiaan ollut kovin kummoinen, mutta sai sillä vatsan täyteen. Huoneissa EI ole langatonta internetyhteyttä toisin kuin hotellin tiedoissa sanotaan, vaan ainoa wlan löytyy alakerrasta baarista ja viereisestä huoneesta, maksua vastaan […] saa salasanan, joka toimii reissun loppuun asti. Super hôtel !!!

Hotelli oli siisti ja palvelu ystävällistä. Aamupala oli kuitenkin huikea pettymys; tarjolla oli oikeastaan vain kahvia ja mehua sekä muutamaa erilaista makeaa, croissanttia/leivosta ja lisäksi sokerikuorrutteisia muroja..

Bij het extra bijboeken van een kamer ter plaatse, probeerde men ons de hoogste prijs aan te rekenen. In tegenstelling tot wat er op de website stond was er geen internet aanwezig op de kamer, enkel in de bar. Voor ham of kaas moest er extra bijbetaald worden bij het ontbijt, iets wat ik nog nooit heb meegemaakt.

Trevligt litet hotell vid antika Porta Maggiore. Dock lite "storebrortänk", "ingen medhavd mat eller dryck får förtäras inom hotellets väggar" Så ville man ta med en pizza eller ta ett glas vin på rummet innan utgång så fick man smussla in det! Annars mycket trevlig personal och gångavstånd till det mesta av sevärdheter och butiker.

Et bra hotell til den prisklassen. Frokosten kunne vært bedre. Likte ikke at man måtte betale 6 euro for å bruke internett, og bare ha tilgang til det i en del av baren. Veldig greit med busstopp rett på utsiden av hotellet.

Mannermainen aamupala oli hyvin suppea, kuten ilmeisesti Italiassa yleensä? Vatsan saa toki täyteen mutta kinkku-juusto sämpylöitä voi syödä kotonakin. Reisezweck: Touristische Reise zu zweit. Hotelpersonal: Sehr zuvorkommende, hilfsbereite Rezeptionisten, freundliches Servicepersonal. Die Ankunft und die laufenden Anliegen werden stets mit viel Humor und Herzlichkeit abgewickelt. Zimmer: Funktional, gute Matratze. Einrichtung allerdings nicht so schön wie im Internet abgebildet. Internet-Kabel wird […] entgegen der Auslobung in der Reservation nicht fürs Zimmer bereitgestellt. Ersatz: Wifi Code für Gemeinschaftsraum. Miniatur TV mit schlechter Bildübertragung, es sei denn, man kauft sich das Digital TV Paket dazu.... Badezimmer sauber. Handtücher aus Bauwolle-Leinen (statt Frottee) sind nicht saugfähig, schnell feucht und schmutzig. Frühstück: Furchtbar unpersönlicher und ungemütlicher Raum. Rudimentäres Frühstücksbuffet mit wenig Phantasie in den Zutaten (meist üblich in Italien...). Nachschub bei fehlendem Brot, Käse etc. sehr schleppend nachgereicht, zu wenig Personal, um saubere Tische rechtzeitig bereitzustellen. Publikum: Vornehmlich ältere Pauschalreisende der einfachen Mittelklasse. Chaotische Rush Hours beim Frühstück, wenn die Gruppen kamen. Suggerierter Business-Charakter stimmt auf gar keinen Fall. Umgebung: Nicht die schönste von Rom. Qualitative Verpflegungsmöglichkeiten: äusserst dürftig. Unbedingt Restaurant unmittelbar um die Ecke vermeiden!! ÖV: Gut erschlossen, aber das Hotel ist etwas abgelegen von den wesentlichen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Fazit: Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis diskutabel, die vermeintliche Schönheit des Ortes gemäss Internet findet sich keineswegs wieder in der Realität. Wer sich nicht an den Pauschalreisenden stört und keine hohen Ansprüche stellt, wird sich wohlfühlen. Devamı

Bra, stort hotell til en forholdsvis rimelig pris. Ligger rett ved trikke- og bussholdeplass, så man kommer seg raskt frem til severdighetene rundt omkring i Roma. Rommene var bra og luftige med aircondition (et must når det var over 40 varmegrader), rengjøringen var bra og servicen i resepsjonen var bra. Frokosten var ikke den beste vi har smakt (croissanter, […] rundstykker, syltetøy, ost og skinke), men grei nok. Devamı

Gostei muito da escikha que fiz em me hospedar neste hotel. Boa localização, bom atendimento, suíte confortável, boa higiene. Voltaria a me hospedar novamente caso retorne à Roma.

vi bodde en vecka på detta hotell. det är bra kommunikationer med bussar och spårvagn precis vid hotellet. dock inte nära sevärdheterna så bo inte här om ni vill ha nära till det. vi var där i augusti under lågsäsongen samt bodde i ett rum mot innergården så det var relativt lugnt men annars är det nog väldigt mycket störande trafik då det är tunna […] väggar. rummen är annars fräscha med luftkonditionering. frukosten är i värsta laget. kaffet och juicen serveras ur maskin i plastglas och croissanterna är sådana där billiga i plastförpackning. I övrigt ett trevligt hotell med trevlig och hjälpsam personal i receptionen Devamı

Hôtel très agréable, nous y avons passé un cours séjour mais celui ci me laisse un très bon souvenir. Le personnel d'accueil parle très bien français et est disponible. Il y a une entrée métro à 5 min à pied, qui est à un arrêt de la gare centrale. Sinon un arrêt Tram et bus en face de l’hôtel ! Malgré tout l’hôtel est relativement excentré et il […] y a peu de commerce et de restaurant à proximité, peut-être du à la période (mi-août) où beaucoup (hors cites touristiques) ont leurs congés annuels. Et hotel der er holdt i 80'ernes faver, hvilket dog kan være charmerende og aceptabelt hvis hotellet på andre punkter har sjæl men dette oplevede jeg ikke under mit ophold. Hotellets restaurant var klart den mest negative oplevelse med et elendigt udvalg og en elendig tilberedning af maden. Den gratis morgenmad, der er inkluderet i opholdet kan man […] med god samvittighed fravælge. Den var trist og smagsløs. Vil ikke anbefale andre at vælge hotellet men opfordre til at der vælges et hotel med en mere central beliggenhed. Devamı
