The hotel was very reasonable for the price. You can tell that the building is old but the staff works very hard to make sure it was clean

The Lobby area is not bad but the rooms are very dated. My room has a 1/2 inch gap between teh wall and sliding glass door so cold air came in all night. No Television remote was in the room, the front desk found one after about 30 minutes, no do not disturb sign in room even though I saw other rooms with them displayed. The room I stayed in was not […] even close to clean. I found a sticky substance, probably syrup on the table in the room. Both night stands were very dirty which was evident from the looks of the washcloth after I wiped them down. The Toilet seat had some stains on it, some of which came off when I wiped it down with a wet washcloth, grosss! I'm not sure what the cleaning routine in this hotel is other than make the bed, empty the trash, change the towels and vacuum the floors. Very concerning. Also, they only use top sheets on the bed so the sheet closest to the mattress is too short will not stay in place during the night, This allowed me to discover the blood stains on the matress the folowing moring. I was very pleased. My husband and I had to make a quick business trip and we stayed one night. The staff was courteous, the room clean, good continental breakfast included, small workout room (which I used). He needed some copies of business forms and they made them for him at 10:00 pm on a Friday night. Small refrig and microwave in the room. The evening staff was super! Very helpful -- even provided a coupon for a dinner place next door! That was nice. Stayed there for the shuttle to airport. Found out the shuttle didn't run until 6 -- my flight was at 6!! Staff called and arranged pick up for flight time. As has been stated, HOJO hasn't done a whole lot of updating through the years. This location was convenient to the interstate and to our destination. Our room could have used a more thorough vacuuming before we got there, but it was decent. The breakfast was standard fare; bagels, toast, cereal and juice and coffee. The hotel staff were very friendly. Breakfast was better than expected for the price. The pillows were very flat. Would take my own pillow next time. Found someone's left over clothing in one of the drawers. Toilet ran off and on all night and walls were thin.

While the room rate was pocketbook friendly, the hotel's interior needed alot of updating. No one was on-hands too much of the time in the breakfast area and the tables didn't look as if they had been cleaned recently. Rooms were pleasant enough but still needed alot to be desired. Toilet ran all night long.

No towels... We asked three times (both front desk and room service staff in corridors), never got any. Every other room is smoking, so there is no real point asking for a non-smoking room. Carpet is dirty and smells bad both in room and corridors.

We just got back from a trip to Disney World. We booked a room at the motel so we could get shuttle service to and from the airport. The motel itself was not bad. The front desk people were really nice and they set us up for an early morning shuttle to the airport. The shuttle to the airport was great and the driver was very nice. Our return flight […] got delayed in Charolette for several hours because of mechanical problems and so we landed 2 hours later than we were suppose to. When finally returning to the airport we were told by the motel in a rude tone that there was no shuttle service and we would have to find another way to get our cars. Luckily at 12:00 at night and since the airport was basically shut down there was one taxi out front. We had to pay an additional $30 to be taken to our cars at the motel. Thank god for the taxi being there or we would have been stranded at the airport with 4 children all night. Hotel was a bit dated but was clean and comfortable The free breakfast was good and more than we expected.

We stayed at this motel when going to the world horse expo. The location was great for this, only 10 minutes from the show. The free breakfast was nice and had a lot of options. The room had a bit of a funny smell when we first entered but seemed to go away after awhile. I would stay here again the next time I go to the Expo.

I chose this hotel for its proximity to the major highways. The staff upon checking in and out were welcoming. I was able to book a smoking room which was also a plus. Housekeeping did come through each morning, but they never seemed to leave towels. The key wouldn't work after the 1st entry and hard to find room once checked in. Definitely not worth the pricefor the amount paid. Smelled, and the bed was uncomfortable

A good hotel if your just passing through.. bed was very comfy rooms are bigger than more expensive hotels. Bath towels were a little dirty looking and there was no soaps or shampoos in the bathroom other than that I cannot really complain. Very nice. Nice people. Brought us extra blankets right away. Did not have a baby crib, but we worked it out.

It gives you all the comfort that you need at an affordable price. Room had TV, microwave, refrigerator, 2 Queen beds, free WIFI, complimentary continental breakfast. What more can you ask for?

Last minute trip to hershey..not to far away.room was a little cold at first but warmed quickly.would stay again overnight..very quiet

For the price we paid for the room you couldn't beat it. It was a little out dated but it was clean, cheap and close to Hershey Park. The staff was very friendly and there are alot of close by restaurants. I will come back.

HoJos is a budget motel for business travelers who want a clean comfortable room at discount prices, including a gym, usually a pool, and a "continental" breakfast. That's what I got. A clean, comfortable room at a discount price, a so-so gym, and a "make-your-own-waffles" continental breakfast. For what I paid, it was right on the money. There were, […] however, a few minor nags... The hallway had that classic "old motel" smell. You know, that combination of stale cigarette smoke from the few remaining smoking rooms on each floor, the cleaning chemicals that are used in the tubs, and just plain old "old" building accumulated smells. This Howard Johnson like most Howard Johnson's hasn't been updated in decades. I found the hotel surprisingly clean as we read a view to the contrary. The continental breakfast was adequite.

Was told we could get a cot at no charge on phone when we checked in we were told it would be $10:00 also had to call down twice to get it . also had nothing but coffee and milk to drink for breakfast the juice machine was broke

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at the Howard Johnson's in Harrisburg, Pa. Our room was clean & comfortable. Our beds were comfortable as well. The price was not bad - we got what we paid for. It's not a 5 star hotel and you can't expect that for the price that you pay to stay here compared to a 5 star hotel!

clean room, friendly staff, great continental breakfast. only problem was sliding door didn't lock.

This was an older shabbier looking building from the outside. Inside the rooms were clean and spacious. There was a fair size balcony outside. The employees seemed very friendly and courteous.

Needs to have some paint and some deep cleaning in the rooms. Staff was wonderful. Breakfast was great but need more sitting room

I have been using this hotel twice a year for the past five years. This time has been the worst yet. Wireless internet was not working. There were piles of dirty towels all along the hallway. Defective and overloaded electrical outlets in the room. Unfortunately, it's time to find a new hotel.

Checked in and went to our room,toilet would not flush,tried to call the front desk but no phone in the room (gone) smoke detector was laying on the table next to the bed. They gave us another room,moved everything to that room. it was 40 deg that night and we had no heat. It is a cheap place to stay,easy off and on the highway. But you get what you […] pay for. After cleaning hair of the shower walls, hair started to come up the drain when I turned on the faucet. I'm assuming the hair came up the drain because the drain plug on sitting on the tubs edge. Needless to say, I my husband and I didn't trust taking a shower.

I booked for a non-smoking room but I could not get into the room because of the cigar smell. The front desk staff was OK with changing the room. The TV in the room was not working and there was a dead centipede in the ice tray in the room and the carpets in the hallway were smelly. The breakfast was good. Older property which has not been updated. We had to move to another room when the door handle came off in my hand. Bathrooms needed new fixtures and there were worn spots in the tub enamel. Internet was spotty. However, the rooms were large, linen was clean, beds comfortable, and it was quiet. The hotel is close enough to areas of interest and easy to get to. It is also close to highways and the mall. The staff is very friendly, and try hard to give you good service. That said, the Hotel is a little dated, with old tube type TV's, and the free wi-fi is very slow. Rates were average for the area.
