Great place to stay in the city!!!

We were initially very impressed with this hotel-friendly staff, nice location, beautiful view, great pool for the kids. Imagine our dismay to find bed bugs when we returned home. The only other places we were at during our stay were the aquarium and a pizza place and another restaurant, so it's unlikely we picked them up anywhere else. When I called […] the hotel I was immediately told we couldn't have gotten them there, but that they would check the rooms when they were available, but that they were booked solid the next several days. I was also told we would be notified of the inspection results. That was a few weeks ago and we still have gotten no where- other than stuck with not only the full bill from the hotel stay and a bunch of extermination fees. We will NOT be back. Devamı

Great place...super kid friendly!!

Overall the hotel, room, bathroom were all in great condidtion and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I would have ranked them significantly higher except for a few things. The "free wifi" never worked, the hotel had me call their tech support who told me that the access point on our floor was out (for all 4 days). There was little to no water […] pressure, it was barely dripping from the shower. We were on the top floor you should still be able to shower. Lastly, the room looks like it was recently remodeled but they didn't seal the door, there was a big gap at the bottom which let light in our room all night and we could hear every sound from the hall. If the price was right I would probably stay here again but I would most likely look for something a few blocks closer to downtown. Devamı

They are doing reconstruction on the 18th floor and they seem to like to start jack hammering around 6::00 am. This is not really noticable on floors above the construction but on the 16th floor the vibration was pretty loud.

Pros: friendly service, L-train stop at hotel, close to everything, awesome views, door man awesome. Cons: we weren't explained how parking worked. Luggage was basicly thrown onto a couch after being rushed up to the room by sweaty bellhop. He even dropped my jacket and stepped on it without apologizing. Very crowded pool. Great lounge, comfy beds.

One of the main reasons I stay at this Holiday Inn is due to its location. Its connected to the Merchandise Mart and that is where I need to be when I am in town. The hotel is clean and overall well taken care of, but the rooms and hallways need some updating. The service throughout the hotel was great as well, everyone was very nice and helpful, including […] the restaurant. However, I would not dine at the restaurant again because the food was not very good, especially with so many great places to eat in Chicago. Devamı

It's in downtown along the river. Its clean and comfortable

The hotel and staff were great. Very accomidating. The only thing was the lack of water pressure in the shower.

Excellent location with easy access to cabs and trains. Walking distance to most places around the loop. great views form the rooms and hotel bar. Rooms a little shabby, feel like they are out of the 70s in design and quality but clean and comfortable...and good rates!

although we got a GREAT deal on this hotel from Hotels.com, we were not very satisfied. i have paid for cheaper hotels and had bigger rooms. on their website it states they have 2 pools, not true they have one pool and its 4 ft. depth to 7 ft. depth so if you have small children that dont swim (we had a 4 year old) you end up having to hold them the […] entire time and not really swim yourself. when we booked our room, we made it clear that we had 4 adults and a child, we were given a room with a BEAUTIFUL view of the chicago skyline, however there was nowhere near enough room for 2 adults and a child much less 4 adults and a child. the hotel is located inside another building, you have to walk across a main lobby and then take an elevator, check in and walk across another lobby to reach the elevators for the guest rooms. the view was great, and for such a high class hotel, i have to say i was a little disappointed at how small our room was, and how small the pool was. i did like that there was a fitness center for the adults open 24 hours so when my family fell asleep and i couldnt sleep, i was able to go work out on the treadmill and sit in the dry sauna. the sauna is kind of hidden in the fitness room so i think they should advertise it a bit more. my overall rating for this hotel is a 3 because of the great distances we had to walk Devamı

This hotel had a very good location relative to sights and events downtown. It was also very easy to get to the restaurants in the River North neighborhood, and had easy access to the El to go further. The hotel bar also had a really spectacular view of the city and I would recommend having a drink there to anyone staying here. The only real drawback […] was that I could hear the people in the room next door, who apparently enjoy talking very loudly to one another at 5:30 a.m. on a Sunday. I called the front desk though, and they sent security up right away. The noise isn't the hotel's fault, and they handled it well so I was overall very pleased with the experience. Devamı

This was my 2nd time staying here. I am soo satisfied.

We got a sweet price for a one night stay in this hotel. Previous stays in downtown Chicago have included The Palmer House, Affina, and Hyatt McCormick. Going by the room price and parking cost, thought this experience would be just average. The Holiday Inn was fantastic. We had the best downtown Chicago stay ever. The hotel staff was great! We were in town for a Grad School interview and wanted to tour the city to familiarize ourselves more (i.e. housing, food, shopping). They were great in giving us listings of restaurants in the area and maps!! There is a walkaway that takes you to Merchandise Mart which is filled with shops and food choices. Merchandise Mart […] also has a stop on it for L (the brown line). Makes life easy, just hop on and you can switch lines at Clark/Lake easy as pie. The only downsides are one, everything closes early (like 6 or 7 p.m.) and two if you are a smoker, it's rough running from the 15-23rd floor down to the 1st just for a smoke!! The entire building is smoke free!! Oh and the lobby is located on the 15th floor, it's not labeled very well, and we did have to ask for directions. The personnel there are all very helpful and nice. The check in and check out was super easy and done within minutes. They held on to our luggage for us while we did the interview and had no problems claiming our bags. I do want to recommend if you are staying here, go out the back door, walk to the corner where you will see CVS and Starbucks, look to your left. You will see a little diner/deli-Steve's Deli. It was the best food I had to eat in the city and their cupcakes are to die for!! We brought a half dozen home!! Devamı

This hotel is great if you have meetings in the Merchandise Mart as there is a covered passage way between the two buildings (nice when it's snowy...) however the rooms still have those AC units that sound like aircraft engines!

I stayed here for market and it was perfect location. Staff was very friendly. Had to Taxi anytime we wanted to go out

I love everything about the hotel; however, I did not appreciate the NON-helpfulness of where to find cheaper parking for more than 24 hours when keeping your vehicle so you can walk around Chicago. I did like how it was above a mall, but it was not that close of a walk to anywhere else (such as Navy Pier, Marshall Fields and Co/Macy's, Millennium Park, […] etc.). Devamı

The stay was fine. I was there for new years and for a regular room at the holiday Inn the price in my opinion was higher than deemed fair or reasonable. Nothing special about the hotel, there was nothing special done for the holiday, room service stopped early which was a bit of an annoyance. All in all the stay was okay, i think if you're looking […] for a place to stay on a budget and they have a good rate, take it. But woldnt recommend going out of ones way to take a room there. Very clean, friendly staff, all the perks you are looking for when traveling with the family (two young kids). Only recommendation is to offer softer pillows. But this was a very small hiccup for a very smooth and enjoyable stay! Highly recommended!

The hotel room was nice and clean. The staff was very friendly. Very easy to get cabs. Great view of the river. We did a lot of shopping and dining on Michigan Ave and the cab rides were short and ranged from $7-$11. Not bad. The pool area was very clean and the pool was warm! I would stay there again.

Great neighborhood and location. Above average hotel. B+ overall--- which is quite generous for a Holiday Inn. Perfect for business travelers.
