Holiday Inn Pittsburgh at University Center, Oakland - Pittsburgh

Staff was easy to deal with, room was comfortable and clean with no bed bugs. What else do you need for a short stay?

Very convenient. Lovely Oakland neighborhood. Hotel has been nicely updated.

My laptop didn't work in the room. There was alot of noise early in the am from vacuuming.

nice, clean, good breakfast, good location, hotel was quiet

Accommodations were clean and the staff was very professional. This is not the Four Seasons, but it serves its purpose very well.

I was very satisfied with this hotel. I was only spending one night in Pittsburgh and it was exactly what I needed. Clean room, good customer service. Overall very good experience and would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful views from your window, walking distance from almost anything. While Pittsburgh is not entirely convenient to maneuver around, this was situated near all major roads. Great staff and hotel. Restaurant was top notch too.

We have stayed at this Holiday Inn in the past but this time around it was dirty, rugs had stains, the bathroom had plumbing issues and was not clean. We rented a movie for $15.99 and it stopped and paused the entire length of the movie. Very annoying. We havve two children who attend the University of Pittsburgh; the hotel is convenient but no longer […] worth it. Devamı

Located in the middle of the Oakland neighborhood - close to Pitt (practically on top of it), close to the museums, the Shadyside neighborhood. Everything is clean, well-lit and walkable in the area. Our room was well appointed, hotel bar was a great place for a glass of wine after walking around all day. Be aware that the proximity to Pitt means STUDENTS. […] In our case, over the Thanksgiving holiday, it was empty - likewise, many businesses closed. Important note: parking is an extra fee, and you park in the medical center parking garage right next door. Devamı

Checked in around 7pm - waited for nearly 15 minutes before the agent finished with the previous customer. Same situation when checking out. Should consider staffing the counter with more than one person. Internet connection also very unreliable. $20 for parking is very overpriced for the area.

I have stayed at this hotel several times while visiting my kid at Pitt, and it is a perfect location, practically part of the campus. My only complaint is that the air conditioning in my room was so loud that every time it came on it woke me up.

Hotel was nothing to write home about but adequately clean and comfortable and close to the colleges we were visiting. There is a shuttle that will take you to Carnegie Mellon, hospitals, etc., which are a 10-15 minute walk.

The hotel is literally next door to UPitt. You can walk to any location in the University. But the $20/day fee for parking was a little excessive. And for the price, I expected the room to include a refrigerator. The room had fresh paint but you could still tell that is was a little dated. Overall, I don't think it was a good value. This hotel was in a great location by U of P ,Schenley park and the museum. All were within walking distance. Overall the hotel proved to be a great choice. The only downside was the noise in the hallways at night. Also once the guests next door came in late, they talked for awhile, which kept me awake. Located on the Pitt campus, this hotel is in a great location. We walked to and from the Carnegie museums and the numerous shops and cafes around the area. The room was very nice, modern, and clean. Parking was a bit strange due to multiple lots, but the desk staff explained the best place to park. At peak times, the wait for an elevator can be over […] five minutes. The hotel is very nice and clean and the bathroom was very spacious. Because it is by the campus of a university, there are plenty of restaurants and such within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again if I visit Pittsburgh again.

There is one thing I missed: having bottled water in the room. Even better and cheaper would be that the reception keep a water cooler there, for the summers.

Walls seemed paper thin, we could hear people in rooms next door.

Good location and price is OK, but does not rate a 3 * review. Bathroom had a powerful sour smell that would not go away with clean towels or new shower curtain.

The major perk to this hotel is the location. It is literally part of UPitt campus. It also clean, friendly and convenient. It was fairly quiet at night considering it is right downtown. You don't have to worry about parking downtown, which is a huge plus. There are also plenty of restaurants and shops right up the road. I was at a conference in Pittsburgh and stayed here because it was more affordable than the conference hotel. It was right by the Cathedral of Learning, which was amazing and easy to drive around. The pool was not heated, which was my main complaint, but everything else was great. I especially appreciate the friendly service and 24 hour business center […] to use. Devamı

The room was so very dirty! I travel a lot and stay in hotels all over the country. This room had two double beds. The first bed sheets had many black dots, which looked like bed bugs. I called the front desk they sent up housekeeping and maintenance. They said It was not, so I stayed in the room thinking I had another bed which was clean. I asked them […] if they had bed bugs before, they said they had and had a special machine to treat the rooms if they had an infestation. So when I got ready to go to sleep in the second bed I pulled back the sheet and there was a long 18" black hair inbetween the top sheet and the fitted sheet. Location is excellent if you need to be near CMU or Pitt. General condition of hotel is good, rooms were clean. Level of service was mixed. Some employees were very service oriented and others really didn't seem so interested or motivated to please.

My experience was very disappointing. Th staff was neither helpful, friendly nor responsive to my requests and questions. The dead bolt on my door was broken and there was no suitcase rack. I asked that the lock be repaired and for a suitcase rack. I was told that they would be taken care of immediately. When I returned to the hotel hours later, neither […] was done. When I asked again the following day about the suitcase rack, which could have been provided to me from any empty room, I was told that I probably didn't get one "because the hotel is being renovated" which made no sense to me. It seemed to me that there was no point in asking about the lock, which is obviously a safety concern, because they didn't even take care of my simple request. Another front desk person didn't reply to my questions about my reservation and "suggested " with an attitude that I contact hotel.com. Moreover, it appears that the hotel increased its room rates substantially on 4/30, 5/1 and 5/2 to take advantage of the fact that it was U.P.'s graduation weekend and hundreds of parents would need hotel rooms, which I think is unconscionable; the regular rates returned on 5/3. Needless to say, I would not recommend that anyone stay at this hotel and I would never do so again. I've never written a negative comment about any hotel where I've stayed but I felt that I needed to do so this time. Devamı

My stay at this hotel was very pleasant. It was in an ideal location. There was a variety of public transportation right around the corner. I would stay again.

Great hotel for visiting Pitt.

Clean modern room. Close to both campuses in a very nice part of town. Indoor pool was nice but very small. Also recommend Lulu's Noodle House for a casual Asian dinner within walking distance. Will definitely stay there again.

this is a nice hotel if you have business at U of Pitt. Water was shut off when I arrived, was returned a few hours later with brown sludge that cleared up after about 20 mins of running the taps. Breakfast buffet was good

Great location with a very helpful staff, but the room had a bad odor. The hotel's restaurant was surprisingly nice, too. Great breakfast selection.

Friendly service, and hotel location is excellent. It is a Holiday Inn and I it exceeded my expectations for a Holiday Inn. Definitely a great place to stay if you are visiting campus.

My husband and I stayed one night during the process of moving our son into the University of Pittsburgh. The hotel is within walking distance to a variety of restaurants and basically on the Pitt campus. The hotel was close enough for my son to walk to the hotel from his dorm. This hotel was very nice, with lots of parking and easy walking access to lots of historic sites.

This hotel is in the center of the University District. Lots to see. Be sure to visit the Cathedral of Learning on the Pitt campus as well as the Heinz Memorial Chapel, world famous for its stained glass windows. Also visit the Phipps Conservatory and Gardens. The hotel was clean and comfortable and very accomodating. I'd stay here again.
