Marriott Newport - Newport

Stayed here to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary and couldn't have been happier with our hotel. The staff was very accommodating and the location could not be beat. Would definitely come back for another special occasion.

For whatever reason, the hotel industry has been allowed to stay back in time in regards to the internet. Any hotel should be embarrassed to charge $13 a day for internet access, yet so many of them do. What's even worse is when you pay it and then the quality of the internet is slower than my cell phone network. USELESS!!

Stayed at the Marriott two days for St. Patrick's Day weekend and the customer service was incredible, the hotel is beautiful and the rooms were very comfortable. I can say that the valet parking is not worth it when you can park easily under the hotel for half the price. This hotel is in a great location for walking around the center of Newport. The hotel's common areas are nicely decorated and spacious. Rooms are small as compared to other hotels in this class. Staff was very nice and accommodating. The only downside is that the night we stayed there was a large group function and several college aged guests occupied […] the common "Atrium" area until 2:30 in the morning and were VERY noisy. We liked the hotel very much, but we were very disappointed to find that although we had reserved a room with a king size bed the hotel only had doubles available. These seemed very small. Since this was a mini- honeymoon of sorts which had us talking for weeks of snuggling together with no kids, cats or dogs in the bed, we really had to laugh at the […] situation which had us sleeping in separate beds! Reservation was for king bed, when we checked in they told us there were no king rooms, so we had to take 2 doubles, which was uncomfortable because my husband is 6'4" and does not sleep well in anything smaller than a king. Then, the next morning he was in the bathroom & the room upstairs started their shower, which leaked through our bathroom ceiling […] into our shower. We reported it immediately, but were not offered anything except another room, which was ridiculous because we were checking out at 11am. The only thing they offered us was free parking, yippie...a $7 savings for the 2 hassles. I would not stay there again, and will be sending a letter to Marriott corporate headquarters. Devamı

Room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful. Hotel was walking distance to downtown Newport.

Hi, We had a wonderful room with a view of the harbor that allowed the sun to shine in. It was lovely to have our room warmed like a solarium and bask in the sun through the windows. Even though it was Christmas, the staff were courteous and helpful. The lobby area is very nicely appointed in the marine/sea theme, and the pool and gym were great. Our […] only disappointment was our room service. The panini was burnt and a lot of the crust had to be removed, and other food was not up to part. We loved the hotel. It was right in downtown Newport. By the shops and Goat Island.

Rooms were decorated Newport style -- very clean and comfortable. Excellent restaurant in the hotel and hours were very convenient. Location, location, location -- close to everything and we enjoyed it very much -- will return again!

a dated hotel. It has 80's style nautical decor! We had a dirty towel in the room when we arrived and it looked like someone had been sitting on the bed. The housekeeper insisted on coming into our room waiving the towel at us and wouldn't leave. As she finally headed out and I was shutting the door, she said she would phone the police!!! The bar and restaurant were only fair and really detracted from our overall feeling aobut the hotel. Rooms were fine.

This Hotel is very convenient to access to downtown and near by shops of Newport and Harbor. But, this hotel is very expensive on weekends and super small rooms to stay and not at all comfortable. Looks like they have bought some old building and renovated as Marriott. This hotel doesn't look like a Marriott unlike the others. Food is also expensive […] and no free BK and wifi internet/internet and parking is too far to walk and I would not recommend to stay here paying too much money unless you get the room for a very cheaper price. We would absolutely do it again. Service, Food & Comfort the best. Extremely relaxing, great weekend getaway my family had a GREAT time.

I paid a very high price for an airless room that faced onto an interior courtyard that remained brightly lit all night. That high room rate did not include the additional charge to park my car, the additional charge for breakfast for two of the three people who stayed in the room, or the additional charge for internet service. Newport is full of great […] B&Bs that charge less and provide more. I'm not sure why I stayed in the Marriott this time, but I won't be back. Devamı

Great service, great location. Room was clean and comfortable. All in all a terrific hoteo, would definitely stay there again!

First of all, we had a great time and the hotel staff was very helpful. In saying that, our first room was a nightmare. The window "overlooked" the interior hall directly in front of the elevator. We called down to the front desk and they moved us right away.

At first did not have king size bed as requested and was told that it is a request, not a guarantee. Then was later told that the hotel only guarantees 20% of the requests for particular beds. I feel that if you reserve a king size bed and are told you have it, it should be guaranteed. Other than this the hotel was great.

Clean and friendly. Our only complaint was the bellman/valet is understaffed and we had to wait quite a while each time we needed our car. Walking distance to everything.

The website explicitly says rooms are ocean view, but they really are windows into the center of the hotel, with people walking by and the ocean no where in site.. The rooms were nice, but the HVAC assorted mechanical noises kept my wife up much of the night. The wall across from our door was literally shaking the mechanics where working so hard.. We […] were there in the winter, so maybe it's just heating.. But still, below what I would expect from a Marriott... Front desk didn't want to move us as they said the hotel was full, but it didn't seem that busy.. The common areas were very nice and free parking.. But again surprised that you had to pay for internet.. How 70s.... I think I'll go to a B&B next time for the money they want for a room... Devamı

The Marriott Newport Beach Rhode Island has only one thing going for it - location. Otherwise this is a very average hotel, a bit run down, and definitely NOT worth what I paid for it. I would not stay there again.

The room was great and the people were very friendly! However, we were very disappointed when we were charged $20 to park there. Obviously we had to park there, so it seemed like a hidden charge.

The rooms was comfortable and the hotel location was excellent. Only downside is that you need to pay extra for overnight parking.

Researched quite a bit on hotels in area, I thought you could always count on a Marriott; however, room did not meet our expectations. Air off when checked in, very potent musty smell. Air turned on, but still underlying musty smell. Very small for a family of 4. Air conditioning came from a vent high on wall. Would turn on and blast cold air onto you […] when sleeping for a couple of min., then turn off and proceed to get very warm until it turned on again. Woke up numerous times during nite just sweating. Since we only had 2 days, wanted to get out to beach and see sights, did not want to repack 2 small children to see if another room would be different. We've have had many nicer rooms at Marriotts in past, quite disappointing in Newport. On the upside, lobby and facilities very clean, staff very helpful, indoor pool opened up to sunny balcony, and close to everything. Devamı
