We were very satisfied with the hotel. The breakfast was very good and there was coffee offered in advance of breakfast.

While the hotel was convenient and overall clean and accommodating, the pillows caused constant neck and back pain because they are just too high. The breakfast is great and so is the staff!

Red lobsters and taboo bell were close, also a walmart and movie theater. The hotel needs a hot tub tho.

The Holiday Inn, South Plainfield is the perfect "get-away" location for anyone looking for a break from the city. It is convenient to get to for "non-drivers" or drivers who want to leave the car and stress in the city. Just a quick ride on NJ Transit for NY Penn Station to Edison, NJ and an inexpensive 15 minute cab ride to the hotel. The price is […] right for the ammenities. Two malls with a movie cinema are in walking distance from the hotel. Within the hotel are a swimming pool, sauna, hot tub,restaurant and complimentary "buffet style" breakfast. I often need to regroup with "me time". Finally, I have a safe, clean place to frequent to fulfill that need every 4 to 6 six weeks. I highly recommend this place. : ) Devamı

The staffs are very nice. The indoor swimming pool was clean and the water's temperature was good.

Internet not functional. Billing system down during checkout. I had pre-paid for my room but my card that I supplied for incedentals was charged additionally. Called front desk to ask them to correct it, and he told me he would have to leave message for the manager. My card had still not been credited +24 hours later - so I can only assume that he either […] had a backlog of other issues or this was not a priority for them to make the correction. I ha a good relaxing time during my weekend stay. The staff is friendly and the services is very good. There are so many stores an restaurant around the area. There are definately many things to do.

beds are ok,not great,pool was great but the rest of the hotel needs a rebuild ,breakfast was cold,it was always good before,not sur ewhy everything has gone downhill. will not stay there again.

The front desk is painfully slow - seriously... painful. But they do their best to accommodate. The elevators are a bit creaky, and a bit creepy, but the rooms are warm and comfortable. The pool is a no-go, but for a quick nights stay, it's a good deal, with a good location. Having a restaurant right downstairs is a plus as well.

The Holiday Inn of South Plainfield is very conveniently located near major highways, restaurants and malls with major stores(ex. Macys, Burlington Coats, Kohls). The hotel is in the midst of a major renovation and should be very nice upon completion. The negatives included strange noises Not sure if it was the refrigerator or something in the walls. […] We first thought that it was a loud tv in the next room and made a call to ask that the tv be turned down. The noise continued throughout our stay. The cleaning staff was not particular with making sure the area was clean. Seemed to be focused on changing the bed, leaving fresh towels, toiletries and empty waste baskets. was an excellent place for us because we wanted someplace close to the train in Edison. We were in NYC on New Years Eve. The rooms were ready with the roll-away beds already in the rooms. The hotel staff was very pleasant and the place was very clean. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to my friends.

do not stay here if you are expecting the normal Holiday Inn experience! I had a room on the first floor, it was loud, the window, that doesnt open, had a breeze coming in!

You need to have a car to get around to anywhere in nj or NY.

Very worn out and in need od a complete renovation,no clock,pictures or hair dryer in my room, StaIned carpets,smelled like cigarettes in a non smoking toon.everything old and dirty. Never again...

felt bugs crawling all over us and could not sleep. rugs filthy,all stained... front hotel staff lady at check in was very rude.and not very nice at all... pool was good, breakfast was good.

Our room was very clean. Hotel was beautiful. Indoor pool was great, my kids really enjoyed it. Would highly reccomend this hotel to anyone!

shower was poorly designed and leaked water all over floor.

Stayed in this room over the weekend while attending a racing event in englishtown. Hotel advertises a spa tub and pool. It actually has no spa tub just a pool. T.V. did not work, carpet was filthy woke up to bites on our legs and our headboard having 3 stink bugs crawling on it. When trying to take a shower before leaving we found out that the shower […] wouldnt drain and the tub filled up with water. Can u say gross. Waste of $$$$ shoulda slept in my car. the pool is large and breakfast is hot and good.

Hotel's location and area around is a little grungy, but it is fairly conveniently located and has eay highway access.

I have been bitten by bedbugs, it is a nightmare! I hope I haven't brought back some in my luggages. In any case, I will ask to be reimbursed.

great pool,exterior was very old and needs upgading. Had seen 2 bugs on bathroom floor,buy room was clean otherwise. old hotel but in rooms and lobby ok. breakfast was nice,great host in the resturant.

What a nice surprise! The hotel was near the local shopping mecca. There were numerous stores, restaurants, gas stations and conveniences. It was on a main roadway and easy to get to but not near the big highway so it was quiet. As for the room, the room was in good shape, with nice linens, lots of hot water, and a decent bathroom. Other than old cushions […] on the couch and a slight rug stain along with some minor woodworking repairs, you wouldn't notice anything wrong. The pool area was clean and well lit and as pictured. Our main intention of staying at this hotel was it was closer to Edison Train station and also closer to Oak Tree Rd in Edison where there are lot of Indian restaurants. We felt comfortabel in both aspects. Next time we plan a trip to NYC, we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Great affordable hotel for any family! Just outside of NYC & close to the NJ shore. We love to stay at this hotel because of it's great staff. Excellent location to shopping & food. We insist on staying at a hotel, with our children, that has an indoor pool & great free breakfast buffet. This more than meets our expectations, as we've stayed here several […] times, & will continue to stay in the future. The beds are very comfortable. You can't ask for a better place to stay. My first room smelled like an old smoky Reno casino. My second room smelled the same. I could not even open the windows to air it out! even the pillows smelled like smoke in this "non smoking" (ha!) room. Do not stay here unless you are a smoker. 3rd hand smoke is bad for you. Otherwise, hotel has ok breakfast and comfy beds.

This hotel was in a very convenient location. Restaurants all around including a Ruby Tuesdays on site. The front desk was very helpful with area information. Full hot breakfast was offered. Very quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed my business stay.

The hotel and rooms were not very well maintained. It was clean but failed on numerous touches. It was very obviously a franchise. The staff was not that interested in service and the minimum was done at every point. The pool was large but had a funny smell and taste. The rooms were not constructed fully. There were cracks in the corners. The coffee […] maker was placed beside the toilet. The furniture and bedding were obviously old and dingy (but clean). Overall, not a pleasant experience, but nothing you could say was clearly wrong. It's like going to an Olive Garden as opposed to an Italian restaurant. You won't get great food but you will get food that can be described as Italian; and you (probably) won't get horrible food. This hotel was like a barely minimum Olive Garden. Devamı

excellent choice of hotels. Standard, not inexpensive.

check in staff were friendly and helpful. however when we went for breakfast we had to wait quite a while to be seated because the dining host was also the the samme person cleaning up the tables. As the line grew he never acknowledged anyone who was waiting on the line. Although there was a sign stating to please wait to be seated we had been waiting […] for some time by then so I proceeded to walk over to him where he was cleaning off a table when he saw me lifted his hand and motioned for me to go back and wait. This Hotel is near shopping (Staples, Macy's etc) it is convenient not too far from Rutgers. The staff were very corteous and ready to please. There was a security guard roaming the Hotel at night. The room was clean and bathroom was bright. We slept 5, a double bed and a sofa sleeper. For two adults and three teenagers was fine. The Hotel receptionist […] at night was very nice to bring extra pillows and bed sheets even after I asked her twice. The breakfast was great, whole bottle of orange juice and hot coffee on the table. The "one" man show deserved a tip for his corteous attitude even when he was working alone. The check in was easy since it was done since Hotels.com. It is the second time I use Hotels.com and my experiences were great. I always read these reviews and find it helpful and truthful. There was a party going on next door to my room, could not get sleep at all. Called down to the front desk at 2:00am to complain, the party and noise kept going till about 3:30am. I had a wake-up call scheduled at 5:45am. I got no sleep at all. When I checked out the manager really did not feel to concerned about my discomfort the night before.
