It was expensive for a tired hotel.

Laundry and workers in breezeway, workers in the way, carts all over the place, noisy.

better price than in santa barbara. did'nt care for the pillows.

Check in at the front desk. I reserve a non-smoking double bed. I got the double bed once you got inside the room all you can smell is cigrattte smell. It made both of us sick. We had to call the maintainace people to take out the smell it help but it didn't elimate the smell. The second issue is the people that was above our room. They made our stay […] at the hotels a living nightmare. They try their hardest to keep us up at night by dropping things on the floor, making weird sound from the bathroom, banging on the wall and flicking our lights inside the bathroom. Did not sleep in peace. Our room was right by the swimming pool. Every few mintues someone is slapping the pool door. Alot of people were at the hotels just laughing and talking during the night. It keep us up. We told the front desk several times to talk to the people above us. All in all our stay wasn't quite enough for us to sleep. They do have a good breakfast and location is good. Upholstered chair and rug stained, worn & repulsive. The first thing I saw upon entering the room was a binder and placard on the floor. It made me wonder whether the rest of the room had been properly cleaned. Drain in the bathtub was backed up.

This hotel was horrible and I felt very unsafe. It was the type of room that you have to enter from from the parking lot which is more a motel than a hotel. I had to remove the beer bottles from behind my car before leaving for the airport that morning as well and I slept in my clothes because I was afraid to sleep in the bed. my reservation was for 2 beds nonsmoking. When I During check in I was informed that the reservation from a third party was not guranteed except for the rooms available. We were initially assigned a smoking 1 bed room - totally unacceptable - especially the smoking room. The hotel was able to accommodate a nonsmoking 1 bed room with a roll away bed. Hotel was close to all areas of interest. Quick on and off freeway

Not sure why this hotel has an average of three stars... it at least met all of my expectations and exceeded some. While the hotel may have been built in the 80s, or there about, It appears as if all the rooms have been recently remodeled and all the public areas were clean and kept up. Only reason I didn't give it 5-stars is because my room (with two […] doubles) didn't come with a small refrigerator and the bathroom didn't have a door for the toilet room. After reading the reviews I was a little weary of staying there. After doing so I think some of the bad reviews were overblown. It's what I expected for the price: clean, comfortable and quite. My only issue with the place was the shower didn't drain well.

I booked two room at the hotel for my family. in total six people. I paid also for breakfast. When I reached hotel they would only provide 4 breakfast coupons. I contested that I have paid for breakfast and they knew that there would be six people so they should either provide the breakfast for all six or they should have notified me at the time of […] booking. Their excuse was that it is done by hotel.com and they (staff at Holiday Inn) are not liable for this. I consider this as a lame excuse.If they allow the booking through any partner website then they should learn to honer the contract. We were given a 'non-smoking' room however when we checked in at night, the room reaked of cigarette smoke. Also, the room was outdated (TV, amenities, etc.). It did not at all look like the photos on the website. Granted, it was inexpensive but I wouldn't recommend this Holiday Inn at all.

We were very pleased with this hotel. We knew the hotel from years ago when we lived in Goleta and hoped it would be appropriately updated. We were very pleased with the rennovations. No weird smells. We would definitely stay there again. A little sad there was no jacuzzi.

I am so disappointed with my stay. I have stayed at other Holdiay Inn's, including Holiday Inn Express locations and loved the service but that is definitely NOT true for the Goleta location. I got a flat tire early the morning of my reservation. I tried to cancel my stay or even exchange it for a different day but they would not allow it. When I arrived, […] the room was much smaller and felt much more like a cheap motel than the pictures suggested which was disappointing because there were other much nicer hotels in the area for the same price point but I ultimately chose the Holiday Inn because of it's convenient location. The TV did not work, it had a loud buzzing sound that overpowered the actual sound. Every few seconds, a fuzzy line went through the TV, breaking up the image. Most importantly, THE LOCK FOR THE BATHROOM DOOR WAS BROKEN. The walls were paper thin and you could hear the neighbors pretty easily. Also, room service is supposed to close at 8:30 but when I called at 8:20 they said the kitchen was closed and could not take our order. general feel of hotel is rundown. Rooms are adequate and clean for a one-day stay. No frills. Staff is unhelpful and distant, uncaring. Fitness room doesn't exist, apparently is 2 miles away. The only redeeming grace is that location was close to where we wanted to be. Will not stay here again.

Close to diners and everything else. Very good location

Cleanliness of the room, or lack thereof, was the main issue. The hotel is an older one, and they try to maintain the grounds, but the bathroom floor was dirty and sticky. The bathroom door--a sliding one and ineffective--jammed. The toilet needed a to be fixed.

Room I reserved was for non-smoking. I got non smoking. They tried accommodating by spraying Fabreeze. Didn't help much. Didn't like the way the shower, toilet, and hand wash was designed. The Hotel was just a short drive from State St., there were a lot of local shops and restaurants near by. The Hotel itself was clean and the lobby personnel were pleasant and helpful.

This is the third time I've stayed here in the last two months. Just wish hotel had better cable channels.

Two of us were in Santa Barbara on business and wanted a place which would be convenient to the airport and our business address. The hotel was not conducive to sharing a room - no door on shower/toilet area; no way to keep light from shining into bedroom area due to opaque door to vanity area; clock had no outlet next to bed and, therefore, was not […] plugged in; not enough outlets in room for cell phones, computers, etc. Since we had booked the room for 4 nights, it was a long time to be in unsatisfactory lodging. Upstairs room not as convenient as first floor I stayed in previously, but upgraded tile shower with glass doors was a major plus. For a one night stay with easy access to UCSB, it fit the billl.

We checked into the room late at night. Bathroom had a good amount of someone else's hair in the tub and on the floor. Then when in bed looked up to see spiders on the wall and ceiling. Spent 30 minutes killing spiders and the rest of the night wondering if they were in the bed. overall not a good experience.

Great value for a reasonably priced hotel room. Friendly staff and clean, comfortable room.

Tv shut off every twenty minutes or so. Come to find out the power button was broken. Not enough plugs in the room to plug accesories in.

For the price it was terrible. I have stayed in hotels that we 30-40% cheaper and 100% cleaner and quieter. This was a complete dump. Avoid at all costs

Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very polite and helpful. We felt safe in our surroundings.

This hotel was nicer than I expected, the staff was very nice and quick to help answer questions.

We like the place. We were there before the check in time but the staff was courteous and they checked us in earlier. The pool was nice too Also we went to SB by train and did not have a car. The bus service from this hotel is convenient and very inexpensive like $1.75. you can go around SB without a car and use the local MTD transport which is cheap. […] Also in SB downtown you can use the shuttle which only costa around 25 cents. When arrived found trash can in shower full of ice water and leaking. Open bar of soap sitting on counter. Next morning cleaning service arrived at 8:00. We asked them to return and they never did. Furniture was stained and overall room did not seem very clean.

Clean, updated and comfortable. Surprisingly nice, although somewhat overpriced for a Holdiay Inn. It is convenient to the University.

Decent place to stay for a night or 2. Clean and friendly. A bit dated. Rooms are remolded. Great parking. Safe neighborhood. Nice restaurant in the hotel with great service.

My wife and I planned a last minute weekend get-a-way to the Santa Barbara area. It was a very busy weekend for that area, we were lucky to get a room. Hotel was nice, room was comfortable, location was good for our plans. Has a pool that was enjoyed by many guests. Our room came complete with a dusty beer can behind a night table. There was no charge for the hair in the bathtub nor for the hair in the sink. The standing water in the shower soap dish probably served some purpose, but management failed to inform us. Only a pro forma apology fr om management which was informed the next day.
