Wyndham Garden Hotel Austin - Austin

This hotel was nice but it looks much older in person than it does in the pictures. I booked just the regular 2 double beds room. When we got there they told us we were outside on the other side of the pool and it was not attached to the hotel building. I was staying with a friend and we did not feel comfortable in the suite section because there was […] two doors and one of the did not fully close. We asked the front and they said they had no more available rooms and we were actually getting a better deal. (Oddly enough when we were checking in another group wanted to switch rooms and we heard them say they had one room on another level, don't know how that got booked up in the 10 minutes since we talked). We made the best of our stay, it is a nice hotel but it is a little bit older. I would be careful ordering the room service because we ordered a burger and me and my friend both got sick afterwards. The room was clean and well maintained. The hotel staff is nice and the bar has strong, good priced drinks. It is just a few miles from 6th street if you are looking for the nightlife like we were. The building is older but the rooms have been updated. I would've liked a quieter AC unit (like central air) because the noise and air gusts were a bit much for my 3 month old. However, I understand that's a bit picky. The service was great, perfect location, affordable.

Great, clean. Overall not extra fancy but nice enough. Free wifi which was great! Free parking too.

Nice hotel with plenty of amenities. Excellent restaurant with happy hour. Hamburgers are incredible! Swimming pool & hot tub. Served it's purpose while I checked out Austin for a possible relocation over the weekend. $10 cab ride to the city was well worth it. The best part...the hotel staff was exceptional. From the hotel desk staff, the house keeping, […] maintenance, room service and restaurants there was a very friendly and professional attitude through and through. I was greeted at every turn. Easy on-off access to I-35 and not far from downtown. Nice big comfortable room. Room was very clean. I would recommend this hotel.

Overall very nice. The room was clean, the bed was fresh, and I even received a phone call after checking into my room from the desk clerk who asked if I needed anything. My only gripe is that there is no complimentary breakfast, but usually I'll only end up having a coffee and donut at those anyway. Also the hotel is located conveniently on a road […] that bypasses the highway and takes about 5 minutes to get into south Austin, which was great since it was a very short drive back from Auditorium Shores. Overall was a nice stay. close to everywhere we wanted to go. Would stay here again for next years marley fest

Only problem we encountered was a toilet that didn't flush. One quick call to the front desk & maintenance was up & fixed the problem in no time flat. We would definitely stay here again.

It is a nice hotel with good service, easy trip to downtown. Would rather have had a place with a complimentary continental breakfast, refrigerator and microwave, however. Cheaper hotels offer these....

I'd normally expect to pay $30-40 a night more for a room like this; a very nice hotel. I only give it a 4 because the shower - although very clean - had a weak shower head, and the water kept going from hot to cold at a moment's notice. (Not atypical, but something that you hope to avoid in the "best" hotels). Room was very clean and well-appointed, […] staff was friendly. Hotel is easily found and has good access to south Austin and downtown. Staff was friendly and helpful. The first floor and lobby walls have pics and bios all the famous Texas musicians....really cool to wander and read. Bar was simple and quiet. we did not try the restaurant or coffee bar. Would stay again if in town.

Great staff at this hotel. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Our room was nice and clean. The lady bartender made a very nice Patron Margarita! It is located a few miles south of downtown so you don't have a lot of noise in the hallways at night like you might if you stayed downtown. But, it's still close enough to everything. We stayed one night to be close to the airport for a 6:30 am flight. Besides being relatively close to the airport, this was a disappointing stay. The parking lot makes you worry when you arrrive with signage about locking your doors to prevent theft, neighborhood seems sketchy. Relieved that the car was there when we woke up the next morning. Rooms […] were old, no sleeper sofas. NO complimentary breakfast. Not close to any dining or shopping--just in the downtown area. If you are looking for a room in Austin for this price range TRY THE OTHER PLACES FIRST! This place is nothing more than an old Days Inn that Wyndham went inside and refurbished with some stupid mismatched granite countertops. They even still had the "popcorn" ceiling sheet rock. It smelled and had bugs. Rooms were tight and nothing special. It should […] have been a much better place for this kind of price. It did NOT live up to the Wyndham name. This was worth about the same as the real cheap ones down the street. Not even a free buffet breakfast! Nice lobby with pictures of Austin music artists but that's about it. The bar didn't even stay open the hours it had posted on the entrance AND the website. Not good when you have a bunch of musicians back from 6th street early. They easily missed about $500 in business with our whole large group. The kid selling sandwiches outside the closed bar told us that the bartender decided to call it a night and just closed up and went home leaving several people asking what the status was....I ask you....Is that service???? No wonder our American jobs go overseas......At least the kid selling the sandwiches at midnight made some sales. He was the nicest one we met in that whole hotel. The rest....nothing special.... We were there for the SXSW Music Conference and this stupid hotel was even trying to hawk rides down to 6th street for $40 APIECE round trip for their shuttle sevice. . Took a cab for $10 and split it with another guest. The WIFI setup in the lobby had some sort of virus on the first computer in from the front door. Google would just sit and spin..... I told the front desk guy and he just kind of shrugged and nothing got done. Couldn't wait to get out of there......Can you tell I won't be going back? Devamı

The hotel was nice enough, but when I walked into my room, it seemed to smell like feet. Also, strangely enough, the electricity went out and the hotel was not very good about communicating what was happening.

The hotel had a very helpful staff but I would rate the actual room as sub-par. There was not near enough lighting in the room and the bathroom tub needed some definite re-caulking. Also, the fact you have to put your room key in the slot to use the thermostat was fine until I realized I couldn't operate the fan for noise control. This was a problem […] since there were several conventions going on and there were a LOT of drunk, loud people roaming the halls on the first floor where my room was located. I had to listen to them from 1 to 4 am off and on! Do not stay on the first floor of this hotel! I didn't like the facility but the staff was very polite and helpful. I basically paid for a Saturday night stay to listen to inebriated guests and got absolutely no sleep! I will not stay here again. Any hotel south of the UT campus is a nightmare with traffic anyway. We love this hotel. It is small enough to get to know the staff and large enough to have all the conveniences of a large hotel. Also very clean.

Close to downtown, SoCo, shopping just a few miles south on I-35. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom was a little small, but that was minor. I will stay there again.

Love the room and the bed was wonderful.

We had a great stay at the Austin Wyndham Garden, due to the customer service and the comfort of our room. All the staff, from shuttle drivers to the restaurant wait help to the housekeeping and maintenance folks, were all very friendly and competent. People were great here-on both complimentary airport shuttle rides, the drvers were super nice and friendly. The hotel's furnishing were beautiful and the fitness room was large and well stocked with great equipment.

In my opinion, the hotel was nasty - I requested to be moved from the first room. The carpet had stains... Just nasty. The woman at the front desk in the evening - I found her to be very rude and ignorant. Before she even spoke, my thought was "who hired her for the front desk???? I felt like I was in a trailer park. The internet did not work in the […] room. The service was lousy and I will never go back there again. For about the same price, you are much better off at the Hyatt Place ... if you like class, professionalism, and cleanliness at a fair price. Devamı

First time we have stayed here, but this just might become our go to place in Austin. Room was super comfortable, my husband loved the recliner. Also, greatly appreciated the fact that room service called to let us know they were on their way.

This was not a bad hotel for the price but I have to say the AC was hard to manage from the thermost. It was never consistent..either too cold or too hot...but overall nice, clean and great location.

Great room for a fantastic price. Room was clean, front desk very helpful and pleasant, restaurant had a great selection and the food was very good. I will definitely be staying here again. My 3 yr old grand daughter and I felt very welcome and very safe.
