U232 Hotel - Barselona 41.38954, 2.14877

I like this small botique hotel, it is clean, reasonably priced and located near the Metro station. I did not like hotel management asking (more like a demanding) that I change to a differnt room (to thier credit they did move me to a better room) because they simply needed a room with 2 beds. Although I told hotel I would consider their request to switch room, I did not given them my consent. Following day, Hotel simply decided to move my possesion to a differnt room while I was out of a hotel. What shocked me the most is, hotel moved my valuable (lots of cash, jewery, wallet and passport) left in my room safe. Luckly nothing was missing. Wow, in the USA they would never dare to do that due to liabilty issue. I guess it is OK in Spain.

The Hotel is just 3 blocks south of Avenida Diagonal the longest street in Barcelona. This street slices through the center of entire city. The all day open top narrated tour bus is so easy to get get to from the Hotel. It provides a wonderful all day experience of getting on and off seeing and learning about the city. Sebastian, at the front desk, gave us a great recomendation for a reasonably Spanish restaurant that we throughly enjoy. This was a overall delightful experience.

Great location and great staff, very help full and friendly. I stayed 3 nights on U232 and would stay there again without questions..

Hotel is in a good location, close enough to bus stops and good walking distance to the city center.

We were very impressed with this cute boutique hotel. Very clean, nice buffet breakfast, great location to sites, etc

Highlights are the clean and fairly new rooms, lobby, modern furniture. As of late 2009 they have 2 computers and decent Internet speed completely free of charge. We had difficulty with plumbing in the shower and were moved to a nicer room....very fair resolution. Location is somewhat busy but the rooms were both super-quiet. City tour Turistic bus "hop-on,hop-off" was just 3 blocks away.

My husband & I stayed 2 nights, the bed was comfortable, our room was very quiet, we loved the breakfast buffet. It was a short walk to the Metro station which was easy to figure out. This hotel is very modern & clean. The bathroom was well equipped with products & there were even slippers provided. It was a great price for this room compared to other rooms in Europe.

My new wife and I went to Spain for our honeymoon and this was one of the hotels we went to out of 4 hotels/cities. The hotel was nice, classy, and despite thinking that the neighborhood looked sketchy on google street-view, the neighborhood actually was safe feeling and okay. It's not in the heart of Barcelona, nor is it near any good restaurants. I wouldn't recommend it for honeymooners or romantic getaway. I'd say it's a good hotel for business people, or people visiting the university across the street. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and they had internet computers for free, which was really nice. Oh yeah, and the showerhead reviews are true. It's the best pressure and quantity of water ever.

My wife and I stayed @ U232 for 6 nights during our 2 week honeymoon and were very happy with the hotel. Yes it is a ways from Las Ramblas but only if your walking. 1 block from the metro station (hospital clinic stop) which will take you anywhere in the city. Metro system much different than here in the states, cleaner and safer. 2 blocks from the bus stop,#14 or 59 bus (N12 @ night) which will take you directly to Las Ramblas in less than 10 minutes. Hotel stay could not be more friendly or helpful with what ever you may need. Free internet which was a huge plus. Neighborhood is not bad, few bars and resturants. Great shopping mall 15 minutes away on foot (Avinguda Diaginal & Aviguda Sarria).

Couldn't have asked for a nicer environment, location or staff. Everyone eager to assist and please. Location convenient to public transportation and tourist sightseeing buses.

The room was very clean, A/C cold, staff was excellent & almost all shifts had a english speaking clerk on duty. They were especially helpful in providing directions & locations. There was construction going on the street in front of the Hotel which made it a little noisy. The location of the hotel is not near any of the tourist areas(ie, las Ramblas, City Centre, beach, etc0, but only a couple blocks away from the subway. all in all I would recommend this hotel for young couples or singles who are looking for a out of the way hotel off the beaten path

I stayed for 1 night with my son on our road trip from Marbella to Manchester. Great location, car park next door which was a bit expensive, but very chic hotel. Our room was at the front of the hotel so a bit noisy in the morning but would not stop me from staying again.

I loved this hotel! The surrounding neighborhood was very safe (which was my number one requirement) and it was super close to a subway stop. The rooms were a good size, the decor was very cool (I told my boyfriend I wouldn't mind having a condo that looked like the room) and the bathroom spotless. The desk staff was helpful and spoke excellent English.

We had a great time exploring Barcelona, especially the gotic section and the shopping area near Placa Catalunya. That said, we appreciated being in a safe, upscale neighborhood in the evening. The U232 is two short blocks from the Hospital Metro station making it convenient to travel everywhere in the city. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, and the staff was attentive.

We loved the hotel, the decor, and the rooms, although on the small side, were really comfy. It is a bit far off the beaten track, though. We had to catch taxis to Passaig Gracia etc. The good thing is that 4 blocks away is the Bus Turistic, which is a hop-on, hop-off bus that takes you all around the city, so you can stay as long as you want at any monument and museum, and a great way to discover Barcelona.

We booked this place because of the midday pricing. The location is easy to get to and near metro, and the neighborhood is good. There was a construction project going on in front of the entrance, but besides that the environment was nice. Disappointing that I booked a two room hotel and when we arrived, they only had a king single. Not a great switch for two single guys. Besides that, lived up to expectations. Would recommend just would now confirm booking with hotel just before arrival.

Hotel is about 25-30 mins walk from the Ramblas. In fact if you take the metro, it takes the same time considering 1 transfer between lines plus more arduous and uncomfortable. Staff were not very friendly. However terrace was nice in the room. Bed was two twins put together, this is not comfortable for any couple.

Good hotel, but it's about a 30-40 minute walk to Las Ramblas; which is the main strip. If we had to do it all over again, we would have found a hotel closer to LR. This is not to degrade U232. It's a good hotel, and the for the price was well worth it.

This is a very nice hotel that is near the business area of Barcelona. It is centrally located but not real close to many of the popular attractions or restaurants. I probably would not recommend this hotel for folks interested in walking thru the local attractions but a 2 day pass on the "Turistic" buses allows this and the bus stops are very close to the hotel. I will book my next Barcelona hotel near the beach but will probably spend more money for fewer amenities.

The hotel is very conveniently located. In a great neighborhood to just walk and find what you see, Gaudi buildings are very near by. Staff is excellent! My husband's passport was stolen on our last day, a Friday, and had to add 3 nights to our stay, they were right there to accomodate us. With the Metro near by, you have access to whatever you want to do or see. Again never tired of walking the neighborhood and being a part of it.

This hotel was very accessible by taking the aerobus from the BCN airport, and taking the metro bus which dropped you off less than a block away from the hotel. The staff was very kind and helpful. They always had a staff member who spoke English, which was very helpful. We were able to book our tour bus at the front desk, with a discount. The rooms were very tidy, and modern. The shower was one of my favorite aspects of this hotel, because it was a rainfall shower. The beds were fairly large for Euorpean standards, they equated about an XL twin in American standards. Overall, this hotel was great, and even better for the price!

Booked this hotel late in the day for a business trip - very good value for a 4 star in Barcelona. The hotel itself is not particularly close to any major attractions, but as others have said there is a metro station closeby and the Barcelona metro network is excellent (although you must be wary of pickpockets). My single room had twin beds - I would imagine that this hotel would be really good value for any couple looking for a better than average hotel without spending a fortune.

What a great place -- located in a great area with super service. Highly recommended.

Receptionists/waiters/waitresses/chambermaids are very friendly/helpfull/courteous etc...Definately enjoyed my stay.

cleaner/maid enters room at 7am..constant noise from cleaners and maid all morning! worst hotel ever!

Great hotel, quiet location with tube station 2 minutes away or 20 min walk to Los Ramblas. Friendly staff, highly recommended.

This hotel is great. We could not have been happier with it. The room was very nice and the hotel staff was very helpful.

Clean, Boutique Hotel. Central to everything. Staff was great. Quiet. Within about a 15 minute walk of just about anywhere in the city, so it is perfect for site see-ers and those who like to see a city by foot. I would absolutely recommend this hotel, especially over other pricier options. Simply made my trip to Barcelona that much more enjoyable knowing I am coming home to a clean, air conditioned, private place.

60m from Hospital clinic metro stop on L5 this boutique hotel is both impressive and well positioned. Walking to Pl.Cataluna takes about 25minutes and the area is really quite good. Plenty of places for breakfast(we found one nearby the metro entrance which waqs very good and well priced. Would definately stay if price was right(as it was this time).

Closely situated to the metro and just 30 minutes from the airport, this is an excellent hotel for both business travellers and tourists. The rooms are compact, but well appointed and are ideally for a short stay in the city. The quality and range of the breakfast buffet was excellent. The business lounge, just off the lobby, is ideal for small meetings and catching up on email. What really made this hotel stand out was that there were no hidden charges for breakfast, wifi or use of the business lounge. You will struggle to find a better hotel offering this kind of all-inclusive service at these prices anywhere in the city. Highly recommended.

Everything about this hotel was wonderful .. very nice atmosphere, cool & current, stylish ... we loved it.

my daughter and i have had a great time here the service is the best.... luigi the bartender poors the best drinks and is very helpful. the only thing is its a bit away from downtown but worth it. the front desk was extremely helpful

Do not worry about staying here. It is completely remodeled and very design conscious without sacrificing comfort. I was very impressed and surprised by this gem.

Can´t recommend it enough, beautiful hotel with a touch of luxury, service was tip top. The location was very convienient as it is a central stop on the L5 tube line (Hospital Clinic) and one of the main streets of Barcelona with shops and eatieries (lovely pastry shops "pattisserie"). I can´t wait to come back!

Rommet var meget rent, ryddig og i perfekt størrelse. Betjeningen snakket bra engelsk så kommunikasjonen gikk fint. God frokost og gratis Internett i et eget rom i lobbyen. Eneste minuset er at det er lite stykke til handlegata. Servicen var upåklagelig og vi fikk tilsendt en servicetekniker på rommet på under 1 minutt for å få ordnet det slik at vi kunne bruke playstation (var ikke mulig å få ps2 til å fungere pga av programmeringen av tv kanalene som gikk fra 1-19 og begynte på nytt igjen, det var ingen av2/exe2 knapp tilgjengelig). Serviceteknikeren fikset selvfølgelig dette med egen superfjernkontroll og fikk 5 euro tips for rask og effektiv service :-) Vi hadde et supert opphold og kommer garantert igjen.

Morgenmaden kostede over hundrede kr pr person hver morgen. Det var den ikke værd. Der var udsigt til en skakt, og dermed reelt ingen vinduer på værelset. Helt uacceptabelt. Men ellers rent og dejligt hotel.

Vi dro på veninnetur til Barcelona og er enige om at Hotel U232 er vel verdt å anbefale andre. Hyggelig betjening og smakfullt interiør. På rommet vårt ble vi møtt av designstolen "Ghost" , et herlig flislagt bad og "regnvannsdusj"... mm. Alt dette til en svært overkommerlig pris. Anbefales!!

Vi badde bare en natt på hotellet etter et cruise i middelhavet. Hotellet var meget bra på alle måter. Det eneste minuset er at det er noe avstand til sentrum, men med metroen nært var ikke dette noe problem.

L'hôtel est bien situé (1station de métro de Diagonal) près de l'arrêt Hopital Clinic. La déco est chaleureuse, bois foncé et tons chocolats, les espaces sont sombres (positif pour le repos après la forte luminosité solaire) les prestations de la chambre sont dignes d'un 4*: baignoire, écran LCD, canapé, dressing, coffre-fort, climatisation programmable intégrée dans les murs,etc.
