The hotel was nice and in fine condition. Very comfortable bed, big room, nice bathroom. The construction that was going on was noisy but kept to reasonable hours. Far from the Central train station, but easily accessible by tram, and a great location to get to restaurants, shops and museums (Anne Frank, Van Gogh, etc)as well as the Vondelpark.

After staying in France and Germany I began to accept that you cannot get a room that you can fit yourself and a suitcase at any price. In Paris I was spending $500 per night and having to take turns using the room. The Amsterdam Marriott was in a good location and I would atay there again. I would reccomend learning the canal taxi sytem "Hop on Hop off" much more efficient than taxi and I could never ride a bike there.

These beds are comprobable to the Westin Hotel beds which in my view are top of the range - I always regard beds in hotels the most important factor - a bit like seats on an airplane. They are the main thing and these are great

This is the highest rate I ever paid for a hotel room but worth every bit of it. My wife is now spoiled and said that from now on - hotels we stay in must meet Marriot's standards. Location is great within walking distance to the tram station and two great museums.Close enough to the square where the action is - street artists, coffee shops, restaurants. I do not recommend the pricey breakfast in the hotel.

hotel was very good but the steak house in the hotel was Great it compares to any steak house in NY.

Hotel was centrally located to many tourist attraction. Access to transportation (tram) offered good access Central Station and other parts of city. Lively entertainment nearby. Hotel service was outstanding. When a water leak was discovered in a nearby room and we needed to move to another room, the hotel assisted with luggage and treated us to an excellent breakfast in their restaurant.

The location is one of the best in Amsterdam without actually being in the middle of the historic neighborhoods themselves. If you want a gym which I did,, then this place has one of the best gyms that a hotel can offer. The breakfast buffet is the most complete in the city that I could find. No one does American pancakes right in Europe anyway. The American Hotel is right across the street and gets 2nd place for breakfast so you gotta try it for variety sake. I was able to extend my wardrobe by doing laundry for free on the 2nd floor and laundry detergent is included but the dryer take forever. Also,, if you like to go for a jog,, there is Vondel Park just half a block down the street and it is like the "Central Park" of Amsterdam. It's beautiful and full of beautiful and fit people exercising and hanging out.

The hotel is a fair walk from Dam Sq but close to the museums and cafes. bed was comfy but still just 2 singles pushed together. service at the reception was brutal. 15 minutes wait each time.Same can be said about the car parking service. dont know how this hotel got a 5 star rating. would rate it as a high 3 star.

A welcome arrival at the hotel by friendly and helpful staff. After a mix up with our room (other people had not checked out so we were allocated another room and given vouchers in compensation) we enjoyed a relaxing and comfortable stay. I would only suggest they have tea and coffee facilities in the rooms. The hotel is located in close proximity to parks, museums, transport, bars, restaurants. Perfect!

Excelent location, quiet rooms, tram stop in the square in front of hotel. At the side of Vondelpark, walking distance to Museum square and Rijskmuseum (~5min).

Marriots is one of world fameous hotels but however in A'dam it was a disappointment especialy the reception area and groundfloor restaurants/bars.

Walk to the museums and canal is very close. Lot's of restaurants are very close.

Very good location, good service, the concierge is really helpful. The rooms was good size and very clean. the hotel was really quiet. the only thing may be that they charge for internet in the room, I think they could provide it free of charge. anyway, great hotel not that expansive if you book in advance, I would dfinitively recommend it and go back eventually.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel. The room was clean, the staff was nice and extremely helpful - especially the concierges, and the location was perfectly located near a tram stop or within close walking distance to many popular attractions.

The best thing about this hotel has got to be the location, it was pretty central to a lot of things. It was affordable and yet the service and experience was terrific. I'd stay here again.

We stayed at the Amsterdam Marriot for a long weekend. Its location is exellent with plenty bars, restaurants, shops and cafes only minutes away. The tram stops just outside so ideal for exploring further afield if you cant be bothered walking! The rooms are modern and clean and the staff were very helpful. Would highly recommend and would definatley stay here again.

This hotel is situated a short distance from the main city centre but is easily accessible by tram or a walk of about 15 minutes. We found this to be an ideal location; most hotels seem to be in very noisey situations. Friendly staff, excellent restaurants and efficient reception. We would certainly return to this hotel. A visit to the museums is hightly recommended

The Amsterdam Marriott was the best Hotel I have stayed in, in ages!! The Staff was very friendly, the coffee in the morning was amazing and the beds... It was the best bed I have ever slept in!!

Service: Overall it was a good experience, except for one incident in the restaurant at breakfast time. The restaurant was full - and the waiter (I think he was the supervisor) offered a table at the bar lounge - except for hot food he said we have to walk all the way to the restaurant to get the food (and come back to the bar lounge)! That was a stupid idea and we decided to wait for a table to be free at the restaurant. For someone to even make such a suggestion - it was really rude. Value for money: Average Location: Very good location - close to attractions, Leidseplein (where you have tons of restaurants and bars), close to a upmarket shopping street

When we arrived at Amsterdam, it was Queens Day Holiday. Outside there were so many people, I should say too many. Some were drinking beer, yelling something. The town was full of gabages. We were really shocked. We felt scary outside. However, inside the Hotel, every staffs were so kind and friendly and very helpful. The concierges were very kind and helpful. The restraunt, the food was very good and all the people were very kind. The room was very clean and spacious.

Although this is hotel is NOT inexpensive, we really enjoyed or stay here. The service was great. We loved the location. It's in the museum area. There is a lovely park for walking and jogging very close by. It is located right next to one of the best areas for eating and entertainment (Leidesplein(?)). It's out of the fray that goes on near the Centre Train Station area but is still close (a quick fifteen or twenty minute walk)to the Flower Market, Dam Square as well as the Red Light District. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel if centrally located, especially if one is keen with museums, canal rides. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

me & a friend stayed here for 3 nights..The rooms are lovely with beds to die for..Very comfy The only thing for us was that it was a no smoking hotel, not good for us & also they didn't have tea & coffee making facilities in the room..Instead you had to order tea from the room service menu...6 euros each (not cheap) Good location though and very, very clean.

We purchased the executive room that included breakfast, afternoon snacks, deserts and cocktail hour. This was a definite plus for our stay. The hotel restaurant was very good. Hotel and restaurant staff were friendly and knowledgable, assisting us with out sightseeing tickets for the museums. Everyone was professional and friendly. Would definitely stay at the hotel again. The hotel was within walking distance (5 minutes) to the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museums. Very nice area.

Pros: The Hotel was very accomodating the minute I arrived, allowing me to check in early from a long transatlantic flight. The location was perfect, close to museums, restaurants, shops and the town centre. The room was very clean and recently renovated. Cons: Lobby was very small and lacking in design. Internet service in the room was highway robbery.

This was an extremely busy hotel and they must have been very undersatffed because they were terribly slow to respond in every instance. We checked in at 11am and our room did not become available until well after 4pm. When it did become available they said they would send us the key (we were in our friend's room waiting) and it took over 20 minutes before we finally went down to pick it up ourselves. After just coming off a flight from the US and being in need of a rest and a shower, that long wasit was very disappointing.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was fairly large and comfy. Nice bath. Quiet. Walking distance (but watch out for the bikes!!) to museums. Surprised by champagne and strawberries delivered to my room compliments of the hotel (happy birthday to me). Would stay there again.

The laundry room was a fantastic idea and the gym is the nicest gym I've ever seen in a hotel. Very top of the line. We did however have a problem with the cook. A waiter had dropped a ketchup dish and it broke. One of my friends had the ketchup all over her sandwich.. she would have eaten it, but I worried it might have glass shards in it. We alerted the waiter and he took it away. He returned with the new sandwich only to discover that the cook had turned the sandwich over, as there was ketchup on the bottom of her sandwich. Given she had no ketchup on her plate, it was obvious that the cook had simply turned over the sandwich and gave it back to her. We were disappointed and the waiter was furious.

Compared to others 5-star hotels I have stayed at around in Europe this is by far the lowest ranking hotel. However, the receptionists were very polite and helping. Unfortunenatly, the room service food was very poor. A 4-star hotel would probably fit this hotel.

Vi var på langweekend i Amsterdam. Hotellet ligger perfekt til, noen minutters gange fra de travleste sentrumsområdene. Rett over veien for kanalbåtholdeplassen som kan ta deg gjennom hele sentrum. Frokostsalen var full når vi kom ned, noe jeg synes er uproffesjonelt i denne prisklassen. Forøvrig plettfritt opphold!

Bra hotell, sentralt, tram og kanalbåt stopp rett utforbi døra. Resturant område 2 min unna. Leidenstrasse har mange butikker, og går rett ned til shoppinggate.

Alles verliep zeer goed, goede service en ontvangst. Prachtige lokatie voor uitstapjes naar musea, historisch centrum en winkelstraatjes.

Hotellet ligg rett på Leidseplein. Skøyter og Oliebollen om vinteren, uterestaurantar på rekke og rad om sommaren. Servicen er kjempebra, romma passe store og lekkert innreda. Vi hadde utsikt rett mot Leidseplein - som vi kunne sette ekstra pris på sidan vindua går heilt til gulvet. Anbefalast!
